Chapter 23 Rules

In front of their beds, there was a tall and handsome figure leaning over towards them. He gently tucked the quilts for the little kids, and then touched their foreheads to see if they were sweating.

The dim light of the lamp beside the bed fell on the man, making him look particularly tall.

When Liam was about to turn around, Emma felt the urge to open the door and leave, but she was stopped by a low-pitched male voice, "Wait."

Emma couldn't help but feel embarrassed and silently thought to herself, ‘Does he have eyes on his back? I didn't make any sound earlier.’

Liam’s hearing and sense of smell were particularly sensitive. Earlier, even if he couldn’t hear anything, the wind that drifted in from outside the door seemed to carry the fragrance of Emma which he instantly recognized.

Emma stood at the door and waited for Liam to come out. Liam closed the door gently, preventing alerting the kids, and squinted at Emma with sharp eyes.
