Chapter 26: Take Over!

'Thinking'

"Talking"

[System]

--------------------------------------------------------------

- Unknown | The Ground -

- 3rd Person -

A man with light skin, uncombed reddish-brown hair, red eyes, and scarlet wolf-like ears and a bushy scarlet tail approached a pair of grandiose doors.

He delicately pushed them in and walked into a room with polished braziers attached to one side of each of the eight sandstone columns lighting up the lower levels of the throne hall. The countless silver and obsidian-colored gems on the domed ceiling danced in the flickering light while carved images of wolves looked down upon the marble floor.

A gray rug splits the entire room in half from the doors to the throne while rounded banners with silver tapestries drape from the walls. On each banner is the symbol of a wolf howling into the night sky. Huge windows are covered by veils colored the same gray as the banners. The curtains have been adorned with fine patterns and burnished corners.

An elegant throne of steel and brass sits beneath a fairly plain looking canopy. The throne is covered in textured and layered motifs and fixed on each of the wide armrests is an abstract wolf's head.

Sitting on this ornate throne is a woman with dark skin, a revealing leather outfit, rippling muscles, and full of scars all over her body. She has wolf-like ears and a tail like a wolf.

"Your highness." the man said kneeling.

"Leon. The report about the people from the sky and the mountain men. Are they true?" she asked skeptically while tapping her finger on one of the armrests of the throne.

*THUMP*

*THUMP*

*THUMP*

"Yes, your highness. The mountain men and sky people are at war. Supposedly the mountain men have some of the sky people trapped within their mountain and are refusing to release them." He says while keeping his head bowed in subservience.

"Hmm... How are the commander and her people dealing with this issue?"

"The commander has declared that she and her people will help the sky people take back their friends as well as the others that are trapped within the mountain."

"The people the Reapers kidnap after massacring and burning their villages?"

"Yes, your highness."

"Hmm..." her highness mumbles as she places her head on her fist.

"Your highness?" He asked after watching her contemplate for a few minutes.

"Wait for the sky people and the commander to make their move. Once they do, I'll choose how we should react."

"Yes, your highness." the man bows his head before turning around and walking out of the throne room with the doors shutting behind him.

- Mount Weather | Level 6 | The Ground -

President Wallace looks down at his meal in contemplation. Wondering how things are faring down on level five for his men and how Jasper is doing in all of this.

"Sir."

"Yes, Sergeant?"

"There's a man at the door for you."

"Who is he Sergeant."

"He says he has information on Jasper Jordan."

"...Send him in."

"President Wallace." the man greets as he walks into the room.

"Leave us." Wallace says dismissively towards the sergeant.

"But sir. You don't-..."

"Leave, Sergeant."

"...Yes, sir."

*SLAM*

"We can talk freely now. Who are you?"

"Jasper told me that you could help him. Your son is killing my friends."

"In case you didn't notice I'm trying the best I can. I have men sent down to level five to rescue your friends nearly every day. Besides, we had enough trouble getting on level five let alone staying on it. My son changed all the access and entrance codes, the only reason we were even able to get on level five is because we had an inside man, who has already been compromised."

"Isn't there anything else you can do!? Is there anything we can do." Bellamy asked.

"There may be one way, but the best it will do is buy them time."

"That's good enough for me, what do I have to do."

- Mount Weather | Service Ladder | The Ground -

"Talk to me. What do you see?" Raven asked over the radio.

"Close your eyes, imagine a bottomless pit." Bellamy tells her as he places his feet onto the service ladder.

"Just stick with it. According to Dante's coordinates, you're almost there."

"What's happening on your end?" Bellamy asked as he began to climb.

"Arthur is training with the grounders and making more and more weapons. Also, the commander and her army are supposed to arrive tomorrow for a war council meeting before marching on Mount Weather. Now, concentrate on squeezing your ass through those vents."

"Yeah, yeah let's just get this done."

"Fuck! I got hit in the arm!" A man yells ducking behind a barricade.

"Hold on, we're getting new orders!" the sergeant shouts over the incoming gunfire. "What? Sir you want us to abandon the floor!? What about those kids in the dorm?" he yells into his radio.

"What's going on sarge!?" one of his men asked.

"Damn you, you son's a bitches!" one of his men shouts before jumping out of cover and full auto spraying down the tight hallway.

"AHH!"

"AHH!"

"Jenkins get your ass back to cover!"

"Ha! Take that asshole-!" Jankins shout is suddenly cut short as he falls to the floor with a bullet hole in his head.

"Shit, Jenkins is down! We can't hold this with just the five of us! There has to be at least ten if not twenty of them!" The sergeant's second in command yells in his ear.

"... Yes, sir. We'll leave immediately." The sergeant says as he clips his radio back on his belt. "Men we're getting out of here! Randel provide covering fire!"

"Sir yes sir!" Randel shouts as he peaked out from behind the wall and began to fire on encroaching Cage loyalist forces.

"GO! GO! GO!" the sergeant screams at the top of his lungs as he and his men make a break for it down the hallway.

- Mount Weather | The Dorms | The Ground -

"What's taking Bellamy so long?" Monty asked as Miller handed out more steel pipes.

"I don't know." Jasper replied.

"Maybe they caught him." Miller said walking back into line.

"No. Bellamy will figure a way out, I know he will." Jasper reassures them.

"Jasper, it's already been six hours. The guards will be back any second." Monty says expressing his worries to Jasper.

"They're gonna take someone else." Harper says in fear.

"No. Listen to me. Everyone, we stick to the plan. They're not taking anyone else out of this room without a fight." Jasper says in an attempt to reaffirm the people's hope.

*BEEP!*

*BEEP!*

*BEEP!*

The Dorm doors open once again revealing Dr. Tsing and 6 Mount Weather security detail in riot armor with police batons and submachine guns.

"Get back!"

"This one." Dr. Tsing says pointing at Monty.

"Yes, ma'am." The soldier says as the two of them move forward, and attempt to drag Monty away from the rest of the group.

"No! NO!" Jasper shouted as the soldiers were successful in tearing Monty away and began dragging him towards the doors.

The soldiers then turn back in shock as Jasper pulls out a pistol and yells. "Hey! Get your hands off him!"

One of the soldiers moves in and attempts to swat the gun out Jasper's hand with a police baton but is shot in his ballistic vest and stumbles back into one of the bunk bed frames.

The soldier looks up in shock before swatting away the gun and beginning to beat down on Jasper, causing Miller and the rest of the remaining delinquents to pull the steel pipes out from behind their backs.

The delinquents are quickly overpowered, and the steel pipes are tossed onto the ground. Dr. Tsing in anger walks towards Jasper and jams her finger in his face.

"Take this one instead, and search the rest. Make sure there are no other weapons on them. I want them all to know how incredibly special they are to us."

"Yes, ma'am." The soldiers reply as two of them grab Jasper and start pulling him away.

"No! Let Jasper go!" A few of the delinquents cry out, but it is too late. Monty is tossed back into the group and Jasper is dragged outside the dorms and down the hallway towards one of the elevators.

"As soon as we're in the lab, I want him to be prepped for bone marrow extraction. We start immediately." Dr. Tsing says as they reach the elevators.

"Copy that. Transporting asset, Elevator C." The lead soldier said on his radio.

After Dr. Tsing scanned her I.D card and pressed the elevator button her and the guards began to choke, and their skin started to burn up and turn red.

"Something's wrong."

"Radiation. We need to get out of here!"

"My skin! Ahh!"

"Ahh!"

"Ahh!"

"Ahh!"

"Containment breach Level five. Seal the whole floor." Dr. Tsing said into the radio after stealing from the squad leader.

"It burns!"

Jasper looks around in confusion before turning to one of the air vents where one of the fans that usually blow good unirradiated air is not spinning any longer.

"Bellamy." Jasper says in realization.

"You gotta pull the outside air in to reverse the air-filtration system." Raven tells Bellamy.

"Just tell me how we know it's even working." Bellamy tells Raven as he begins unplugging and reattaching different cables.

*BEEP!*

*BEEP!*

*BEEP!*

"Containment breach." A robotic like woman's voice said over the P.A system.

"I'd say it's working, Bellamy."

"Thank you, Mr. President." Bellamy says to himself as he begins to move away.

- Mount Weather | The Dorms | The Ground -

"Let's go, this is our chance! Everybody move! Take the level. Monty, get the cameras. Miller, get their guns!" Jasper shouts as the delinquents run into the hallway and begin beating down on the guards.

"Let's go!"

Dr. Tsing crawls herself into the elevator desperately and once she was able to press close on the elevator, she let out a sigh of relief. Her relief was quickly taken away as Jasper stuck his arm in the elevator door, forcing the doors back open.

"No, you can't." Dr. Tsing said in horror.

"I hope you know you're incredibly special to us." Jasper says to her as Monty, Harper, Miller, and him all watch as Dr. Tsing slowly dies screaming.

Jasper and the other delinquents ran around the entirety of level five, stealing weapons and finishing off the guards.

Miller was leading a group of five as they encountered a hallway where people were already dead and were about to grab the vests and ammo the soldiers had on them when the elevator at the end of the hallway suddenly dinged and began opening.

"Hide, now!" Miller voiced.

As they hid behind the walls and sandbag barricades, they started hearing voices that over time began to become progressively louder.

"You think those kids are, ok?"

"I'm sure they're fine, we just need to finish off any Cage loyalists on the level and then help those kids arm up."

Miller lifted a hand and indicated that after the count of three they were to reveal themselves. Miller then began to mouth the count down from three.

'1...2...3!'

"Stop!" Miller shouted as him and the other five delinquents all sprouted out from behind their hiding places with their newly acquired guns drawn.

"WOAH! Hold on, we're on your side!" The leader of a group of seven men in gas masks exclaimed.

"Who are you? And why are you the only one without a gas mask." Miller questioned.

"We were sent by President Wallace to come and support your retaking of the level."

"We thought President Wallace was-..."

"No longer in the oval office? That's true but... look we can explain once we meet up with the others so where are they?"

"...You still haven't answered my question. Why do you not have a gas mask?" Miller asked irritated.

"...I received the bone marrow treatment." That confession caused Miller and the other delinquents to all point their submachine guns at him in alarm and anger. "...I-I didn't know that's what it was when I originally got the treatment. All they said that it was better than the original, and so I took it without thinking... W-When President Wallace's position was taken over by his son, Cage. I began to question my treatment and after a conversation with President Wallace, I learned the truth... I'm sorry." The Sergeant said surprising everyone even some of his own men who had yet to hear the story.

"What's your name?" One of the other delinquents asked.

"Sergeant Jet." He replied.

"...Follow us, Sergeant Jet." Miller said reluctantly.

----------

"I've hacked the hallway cameras, and all the elevators are disabled except for the one you guys used. I shorted the other stairwell locks as well." Monty told Jasper and Sergeant Jet.

Sergeant Jet has medium length black hair which can be considered quite neat and messy at the same time and possesses sharp green eyes which fall under his eyebrows.

"How are we doing with weapons?" Sergeant Jet asked Jasper.

"There were sixteen soldiers on the level, and of those soldiers all of them had guns. Except only nine of them had submachine guns. We've also taken the soldiers armor and given it out to the people who know how to use guns."

"Alright, good. All we need to do for now is fortify, hunker down and defend."

"...How long do you think we can hold them off?" Jasper asked Monty once Sergeant Jet walked away.

"As long as we have to." Monty replied.
