Resurrection.

[3 days later]

«Master, what are you doing?» Jackie tilted her head at her master's actions. Selene created a makeshift mortar and pestle and was currently grinding some leaves.

"This plant right here," Selene lifted up a droopy brown plant, "Is called Nitroleaf. If you light it on fire it explodes! I found it in the inner forest. Sounds dangerous right? Well I found out that if you grind it into a paste, it has an incredibly soothing effect and is a great pain reliever!"

Selene then lifted up a bluish-green plant, "This is called an Asclepiroot. The leaves of the plant are highly toxic but the root, when squeezed, secretes a liquid that rejuvenates your stamina back to 100%! So I'm combining the two together to hopefully create something that can heal wounds!"

«Wow, Master that's amazing! But why are you making something neither of us need?»

Selene smiled, "To help anyone in need of course. Not everyone can regenerate like us and sometimes need a little extra boost to help in their recovery." Selene continued to grind the two plants together until there was a light blue liquid in the mortar.

'I hope by adding my own magicules, I can go beyond my desired effect.' Selene thought as she grabbed a waterskin and poured the viscous liquid into it.

Selene, now clothed in a dress made from various animal fur, stood up with a bright smile on her face, "Jackie, let's go find an animal to save!"

[Outer Amazon Rainforest]

"Catch that slave!" The man's command echoed throughout the forest and the slave he was speaking of was currently running with all of her might.

She was a little girl around 8 years old. Her skin was tan and she had short black hair with dark brown eyes. Her hands were bound by black shackles and she had minor injuries on her legs and arms, from the brush.

'Run Itotia! Run!' The little girl thought to herself in panic. She had been running for a while but the adrenaline coursing through her veins kept her going.

But her young body could only get her so far away from determined men. A conquistador flanked her from the right and scooped her up.

"Gotcha you little bitch!" The conquistador spat with an evil look in his eyes. Itotia could hear the other men approaching and knew she didn't have much time. She bit the conquistador as hard as she could on his arm, resulting in him dropping her.

"Fuck! You little shit!" He yelled as he drew his sword and chased after Itotia again. Itotia couldn't run very far before the man caught up to her.

"SOMEBODY, HELP ME!" Itotia screamed in a last-ditch effort before the man swung his blade. His blade sliced deep into Itotia's back and severed a part of her spine.

She dropped to the ground face-first and tears escaped her eyes as she felt the world get colder, "Please…"

The last thing Itotia saw was a pale foot and golden hair by the ankle.

Selene looked down at Itotia's dead body and tears flooded her eyes, "I'm sorry I was too late little one. I promise, I will avenge you."

She used [Wind Manipulation] to levitate Itotia's body away from the scene.

"Who are you?! How did you do that?!" The conquistador yelled stupefied by her use of magic. Selene spoke no words as appeared in front of the man in the blink of an eye.

He couldn't even swing his sword before his head fell off his body. Selene sensed 8 other men approaching and simply waited.

"Woman, did you do this?!" A conquistador dressed in red yelled as he aimed his flintlock at her.

"Yes, I did. You're all going to join him, every single one of you." Selene lifted them all up using the wind, "Unlike this piece of garbage under me, I'm going to make all of you suffer."

Then from above, bullet ants began to fall on the men.

"AAAHHHHHHH!!!" They slowly began to scream and Selene chuckled, "Bullet ants have the most painful bite in the animal kingdom. I'm sure being bitten by so many makes you want to die, no?"

Selene let the torture continue as she walked over to Itotia's body.

"Such a beautiful girl, killed by the savages that roam this planet," She ran her hands through her hair, and an idea, a crazy idea, but an idea nonetheless crossed through her mind.

She put some mana around her index and middle fingers and slashed her wrist open. Selene winced in pain, "I really, really, hope this works!"

Selene's crimson blood tinged with a bit of gold, dropped into Itotia's mouth. At first, nothing happened but then, Selene felt the most pain she's ever experienced in both of her lives.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!" Selene dropped to her knees clutching her chest. Blood leaked from her nose, mouth, and eyes as she began to convulse.

«MASTER! MASTER!!» Jackie cried at her master's suffering. Itotia's corpse on the other hand began to levitate. Her corpse became a magnet for magicules and they were absorbed into her body like a vacuum.

The wind picked up and spiraled around Selene and Itotia, flinging Jackie away. Selene stopped bleeding and convulsing but was knocked unconscious and her body levitated as well. Itotia's corpse began to shrink until it was a golden fetus.

A pure white substance exited out of Selene's mouth and formed a shell around the fetus. A golden tree appeared on the shell and it grew rapidly. Within minutes, the shell was 4 feet in diameter and that's when it began to crack.

The shell cracked and shattered like glass. Within the shell was a girl around 4 years old. She had pale skin, silver hair with strands of gold, long ears, and golden eyes with a black ring around her pupils.

The violent vortex slowed down and Selene and the girl slowly floated back down to the ground. The conquistadors were killed from the excessive amount of magicules in the air and Jackie was also knocked out cold.

[A few hours later]

«…er!…aster!…Master!» Selene's eyes slowly opened and were met with the face of a worried jaguar.

"Mmhh, Jackie what happened?" Selene slowly rose, «You poured your blood into the dead body of that little girl and then you started bleeding and shaking! Then the wind got really strong and I blacked out after that…» Jackie's ears drooped in sadness.

"Where is she?" Selene asked but she soon found her answer. Laying next to her was a little girl who closely resembled her, the answer then clicked in Selene's mind.

"She's no longer some random little girl now. She's my daughter…" Selene exhaled and laughed to herself.

«Daughter?! But how master? All you did was put some of your blood in her mouth!» Jackie exclaimed and Selene's sigh was full of stress, "I don't know. My blood was supposed to act as a medium to hopefully resurrect her, which it did…but I…I don't know."

Selene bent down and caressed the girl's cheek, "In any case, she's my daughter now. I've never raised a child before but it can't be that hard right?" Selene chuckled as the girl slowly woke up.

"Hi, sweetie." Selene said softly as the girl hugged her tightly. Selene was taken by surprise but returned her hug.

"Do you remember anything from before?" Selene asked the girl as she sat her in her lap. The girl shook her head no.

"Not even your name?" Again, the girl shook her head no, "All I remember is falling asleep next to you Mommy…did I do something bad?" The girl looked up at Selene in sadness.

"No of course not sweetie! Mommy is just asking a few questions," Selene gently combed her hair with her hands.

"Since you can't remember your name…how does Seriene sound?" Selene asked and the little girl's smile could light up the night sky, "I love it! It sounds like your name Mommy!"

Selene laughed, "Well then Seriene it is. Seriene Roseris, the third member of the family!"
