You Know Me?

"The Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale has rendered the final verdict, kindly escort the convict out, the court is dismissed." Neuvillette commanded as the short lived trial came to an end.

The atmosphere in the courtroom shifted as the pronouncement was made. Guards moved forward to escort Lord Armand out, while murmurs of agreement or disagreement rippled through the audience.

Kyle scribbled last of his report as people began filling near the exits, preparing to leave the courtroom.

He quickly summarized the events of the trial, detailing the accusations against Lord Armand, the evidence presented, and the final verdict rendered by the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale.

With a final flourish, Kyle signed his name at the bottom of the page and tucked the report into his bag.

As he stood up to leave, he couldn't help but look towards the throne in the balcony behind him.

As a transmigrant, he was quite familiar with the world within the game genshin impact, and Furina being one of the characters he cherished the most.

Currently being a nobody, he didn't have the qualifications to meet her; a glance will have to do for now.

As he looked towards the balcony, he met with heterochromatic eyes staring right at him

'Wait something is wrong'

'Why is she looking at me like that?'

Kyle's heart skipped a beat as he deciphered the emotion in those eyes in the balcony.

'Recognition'? It made no sense.

Was it possible that she somehow knew who he was, despite being just a simple journalist?

Thankfully, he didn't need to ponder any longer as the answer seemed to be coming straight towards him, albeit with far too much haste than he would wish for as Clorinde caught the water goddess in a Princess carry jumping from the balcony; on her words of insistence he couldn't hear clearly.

Before he could make introductions or ask a question, he found his field of vision change.

Suddenly, he was lying flat on the floor, looking straight at the chamber's roof.

At the same time, he felt a strong pressure on his chest, as if someone had landed on him.

Struggling to catch his breath, Kyle's mind raced with confusion. What was happening? Why was he suddenly on the floor?

As he tried to push himself up, he realized that someone was lying on top of him. And from the weight and the sensation of long hair brushing against his face, he could guess who it was.

"Miss Furina?" Kyle managed to gasp out, his voice muffled by the unexpected weight on top of him.

There was no response. Instead, he felt her hands clamp tighter on his chest, her face burying deeper into him.

He could finally hear something.

Muffled sobs?

"It...It's really you," came the barely audible words.

Kyle's mind raced as he processed what was happening. Miss Furina, the water goddess from the world of Genshin Impact, was here, lying on top of him, and she seemed to be in distress.

As much as the readers would hope Kyle was not a dense sitting duck, he immediately began to piece together various scenarios or explanations for the current unexpected event. The only probable ones were that his current body had an important identity before he transmigrated, or the system's simulations had effects on the real world.

Only using the system would give him his answers.

"It... it's been 444 years 8 months and 12 days... I still remember it like it was yesterday" she whispered again, her voice filled with sorrow and longing at the same time it seemed she was finally at peace.

'Wait is she sniffing me?'

'444 years? Yeah definitely the latter scenario then. I need to find a place to use the system as soon as possible'

He heard the sound of hurried footsteps and the faint echo of Clorinde's voice.

"Miss Furina, are you alright? Can I escort you to the parlour? You are under public eyes right now." Clorinde's voice was tinged with concern and urgency.

Kyle knew he needed to get Furina to a safe place where they could talk in private. He carefully helped her to her feet, trying to hide his surprise at the whole situation.

"Miss Furina, let's go to the parlour," Kyle suggested gently, offering her his arm for support. "We can talk there."

Furina nodded, her expression a mix of gratitude and shame. Together, they made their way out of the courtroom, with Clorinde following closely behind.
