Becoming A Master

After I recieved the wooden sword from Henry, we walked towards the training grounds.

"Hey Henry."

"What is it kid?"

"When you said that all the other races are much stronger than humans, what races did you mean?"

I was genuenly curious, even if this world is similair to Terraria, I didn't know if there are more races, maybe fewer.

"I meant races like the elves, goblins, angels, demons, merfolk, and pygmies. All these races are intellegent, and are physically better than humans in every way, I really don't understand how we managed to survive all these years as the weakest race."

Elves, merfolk, pygmies, and angels. This is begining to sound more and more like dungeons and dragons, so I guess this world is a combination of the 2 games.

There were hints about merfolk and pygmies, and angels and demons, but not on the elves, there is the neptune's shell, angel wings, actual demons, a pygmy staff, I'm pretty sure goblins want to get rid of us because of the game, and the goblin army. But I can't help but wonder, are the other races want to eradicates us as well, or do they just want peace? Those are the real questions.

"I see..."

I could help the humans because I'm one too, but I should understand the motives of the other races before killing them.

While we were walking I wanted to check the stats of the sword I was given, to see if it's stronger or weaker than my own.

But this is meant for training and not killing.

I wonder if the iron swords are better than my wooden sword.

"Alright kid, we'll spar a bit, I want to see what your current level."

We both took our stances, I must admit, when he took his stance, I knew that he that he was a master swordsman, and it will be difficult even with my enhanced strength and expertise in swordsmanship to defeat him.

My stance however, was pretty solid, my legs were apart, I placed my left hand in front of my face in a way my eyes will not be covered, and my right hand was holding the sword almost touching the ground. It looked like I knew what I was doing, like I was a master. I used this stance to train my muscles to use more complicated stances to become a master faster.

"Alright kid, come at me with everything you've got" Henry said in a serious tone like he was actually going to try.

I lunged at him at an incredible speed and tried to hit him in the gut.

He blocked me, not that excpected much else from a master, but he also seemed like he was trying hard to block it.

"That's a nice techinque, it seems like you trained quite a bit on your own."

"I practiced with a stick"

"I see... And your stance and footwork are also very good."

"Thanks."

I continued my assult and he block almost every single time, but the times I landed a hit, I held back.

And because I held back I ended up defeated, but I also knew that if I didn't hold back he would be dead, and then I'll have no one to train me.

"That was good, I'm not sure there is much for me to teach you."

"Well, there is always more to learn then a stance and how to swing a sword."

"That is also true, but if you were able to do that much with just a stick in only a few years, you'll be able to defeat me like that in less then a year."

"I guess you're right, would we be able to train with bows tomorrow?"

"...Sure, but we'll continue with swords for today."

"Alright."

I glanced at my status while resting on a tree.

"Damn kid, you really went above and beyond on the training, you far surpassed everyone in the village." Henry slightly chukled and took a sit next to me on the tree.

I was victorious after another spar with Henry, and decided for a small break afterwards.

"Don't belittle yourself Henry, your skills in swordsmanship are still very good."

And his skill are really good, he is a master after all.

I was only able to reach such heights because of my comprehensions and my knowledge on those skills.

Plus I have an enhanced body, I am twice as strong as an ordinary person.

He also seems scared of the monsters of the outside, and he is pretty strong and a master. So if a master is scared of the monsters outside, I wonder how strong they really are.

This makes me think like we really are in the Legendary mode.

So being over confident will get me killed, just like it did before, I was too confident in my abilities that I didn't think that I would die so young.

"Yawn"

'I haven't had that much rest in the past 11 years, so I think I'll go home to sleep'

"I'm leaving for today Henry"

During the 12 years I have been in this world I had a lot of time to think of what I want to do.

And I think I know what I want and need to do... I need to find out more about the history of this world and bring peace to it with all the races living in harmony, I know it sounds cliché but I think I can make it work thanks to the blessings I have gotten.

In my previous world I could have also been someone great, but I chose to be an assasin because I was good at it and I didn't feel anything after taking someone's life, so I though that is what I wanted... Maybe I will bring order to this world, or maybe I won't...

I want people to live freely without fear.

Which is why my goal for getting stronger has not changed in the slightest.

Which is also why I have been gathering resources as well as training and conjuring some as well.

This is all could gather and conjure in these past few years.

I conjured the ores and turned them into bars, but I couldn't conjure the bars themselves, probably because I lack the mana, and it is also why the best thing I can conjure is iron ore.

I also found some dayblooms and mushrooms and gathered them because they prove rather useful for potions I will make in the future, plus I conjured some.

I gathered a lot of wood and I think it's time to make armor out of it, I don't use iron or copper for armor because I don't have enough if I also want an iron sword instead of my wooden one, so I'll make an iron broadsword and an iron helmet, and the rest of my armor will be made of wood.
