Catastrophe II

–3RD Pov–

[Human Souls required for the harvest festival to commence... confirmed]

[Harvest festival of an individual named Clayman.... Commencing]

The monotonous voice echoed as maniacal laughter accompanied it, from a different source this time.

"Yaa, Clayman!" a female voice called out, abruptly stopping the laughter as the man in question collapsed.

She rushed over and carried him to his throne, where enormous quantities of magicules surged into his body, significantly improving and enhancing it.

That's right... The false demon lord was awakening as a True Demon Lord, all because of human foolishness, without Clayman having to lift a finger.

–Karna Pov–

{You don't need to come here; I'll be more than capable of handling that demon.} Shizue is such a worrywart, but it makes me happy.

{Hm, be careful,} She said through the soul communication as I nodded. {You too,} I replied as I saw the demon. It was a short, young girl with purple hair, dressed in regal attire, and had six dark black wings behind her.

Violet, one of the seven primordial demons of the underworld, commonly referred to as hell. These seven entities were the initial forces born from the great spirit of darkness, created to balance out the existence of angels brought forth by the creator.

'I see, she certainly possesses an immense amount of power. But it might also be due to the fact that she was summoned with the sacrifice of at least 10,000 human bodies,' I thought as I evaded a dark spear that had been aimed at me. It appeared she had taken an interest in me.

It was by no means a favorable situation, but I found myself getting strangely excited at the prospect of battling another primordial. I had only faced two primordials in my nearly 50 years of life, which is why I was determined to make the most of this encounter.

"It was you, wasn't it? The one who thwarted my scheme to seize the royal bloodline of that foolish queen?" A childish voice emanated from her mouth as we now stood face to face, suspended in mid-air at a considerable height.

"It appears you received the news rather swiftly, but given your status as a Primordial, I have no doubt that you command a considerable number of subordinates in the underworld," I remarked to her as I allowed my golden bow to dissipate and transform into my spear, Vasavi Shakti.

"Huh? What kind of fool are you? Of course, I'm the Queen of a lot of pathetic weaklings who would grovel at the first sight of power!" She added with an annoyed expression.

'It seems she's quite hotheaded,' I thought to myself. Well, that might work to my advantage. Her aura was already potent enough to disintegrate hundreds of people, well that's to be expected from a demon of her caliber..

Her hands began to move, summoning twin swords of legend-grade. "I will torment you for all eternity as compensation for my thwarted plans!" She shouted with an excited but wicked smile, then swiftly soared towards me with incredible speed.

I wasted no time and charged towards her, engaging in combat. My spear clashed with her blades, and despite her weapons being of lower grade than mine, I was surprised to see them withstand the impact and power of my spear without breaking.

In the heat of battle, we paid no attention to anything else. As we clashed repeatedly, shockwaves reverberated through the air and the battlefield below, destroying several tents and creating craters in the ground, causing more casualties.

"You know, you're stronger than Noir at the moment," I said to her as I dodged another decapitating strike. I then used my left hand to grab the air as if it were solid, and spun around and attempted to kick her, but she crossed her arms to block the attack.

"But that's all there is to it. You possess raw power due to your physical body, a result of the sacrifices made by those fools," I remarked.

Seeing her growing slightly angered, I continued, "But when it comes to skill and essentially anything else, Noir would utterly outclass you."

Calm..Perhaps too calm. At first, she had been angered in the midst of our fight, but now she fell into silence. Surprisingly, her strikes were becoming more precise, but I continued to block them effortlessly.

We were still sparring, not taking the battle seriously, I needed to keep my attention on the casualties, while she didn't seem to care.

This is precisely why I had asked Shizue to stay in her place and why I had observed that magic caster with an extraordinary amount of magic despite not being a saint or any evolved form of humans...

We darted around, exchanging blows with our weapons. Even when she managed to scratch me, my armor deflected all of her attacks, as her blades and my armor were currently of the same grade.

She had taken minimal damage since I hadn't been able to land many strikes on her. She blocked all the attacks I launched with her swords. Although I had my doubts, if I were to take the fight seriously, I could likely defeat her in a matter of minutes.

That's precisely why we weren't taking the battle seriously. I could sense that she had recognized the immense strength I possessed, and she might be betting on her existence-erasing poison to be able to kill me.

Swatting aside another barrage of her purple, poisonous magicule balls, I closed the distance and raised my spear, preparing to strike. However, as I brought it down, I cleaved through the air, creating shockwaves that parted the clouds.

'She dodged, isn't she way too cunning?' I thought to myself. No ordinary demon could pull off such evasive maneuvers, and I found it hard to believe that even another primordial could.

In my experience, Guy had always taken my attacks head-on, and Noir had been similar in that regard. So, I had assumed that all of the primordials were like that. However, it seemed that this one was different, leaving me with doubts.

I accelerated through the air, putting distance between us as I hovered, facing her. She had an eager smirk on her face.

"I'm going to start taking this seriously from now on, Violet. If you don't want to meet your end, I advise you to retreat and return to the underworld," I warned her with a grave tone.

"Well, I can't do that, can I? My client's wish still remains unfulfilled, and I've taken an interest in your soul. It seems different and quite delicious," she replied with a smirk. This was a threat I couldn't simply ignore; she had just put Shizue and me in harm's way with her declaration.

"So be it then!" I exclaimed as we charged towards each other. "Bring it on!" Our voices overlapped as we clashed.
