As she stared at the man lying on the table in front of her, Haru couldn't help but feel a chill in her heart.
With every single breath the man took, his body, that had clearly rotted, moved about, flesh clearly visible.
But even so, the man was still clearly alive, which caused Haru to feel extremely weird, as if she was staring at something that was not human.
After staring at the man from afar for a few moments, Haru slowly but surely approached him before beginning to inspect him.
At the same time, Diana stood in a corner of the room, watching Haru more around the body with a cold look on her face.
Even though for some reason, Haru could feel the cold gaze land on the back of her neck, she still continued inspecting the body, and grasping its current state.
From the head, chest, limbs and every single body part of the man, Haru inspected everything in just under five minutes, before turning her head towards Diana.
Seeing this, Diana, who was staring at Haru, couldn't help but open her mouth.
"What is your opinion on his current state?" asked Diana as she walked up to Haru, causing the latter to move back a state.
Hearing this, Haru hesitated for a few moments before beginning to speak.
"It seems as though not only did his body rot for quite a bit of time, but he was also gravely wounded, causing large amounts of damage to him, based on my experience, modern medicine, no matter how advanced, would be totally helpless in helping him," said Haru.
"And even if modern medicine is able to heal him, as well as his brain, most of his memories will most likely be gone," said Haru, causing Diana to slightly nod, satisfied with her honesty.
"That matches up quite well with what those doctors told me, now, what do you think, can you use your stand to heal him?" asked Diana as she stood in front of Haru, causing the latter to feel sweat falling down her forehead.
"I'm nor really certain, the fact that the patient has already died may pose some problems for my stand," said Haru, making Diana nod.
"Very well, since we can't be sure if your stand works on him, you can just give it a try," said Diana with a smile on her face, causing Haru to freeze for a few moments.
"Wouldn't it be better if we conducted a few tests before jumping straight first into the healing itself?" asked Haru, making Diana to shake her head.
"Don't worry about any of that, I didn't make you come here to give me your medical opinion, I have doctors that are far better than you, every single test that you can think of has already been done, you can just begin healing him," said Diana, causing Haru to suddenly understand something.
"I understand Lady Diana, I will get to work," said Haru, causing a green figure to suddenly appear behind her.
Seeing this, Diana faintly smiled.
"Just give me your best attempt, it doesn't matter if you don't succeed, nothing will happen to you," said Diana as she looked at Haru, causing the latter to nod.
But even though she had nodded her head, for some reason, Haru felt as though things wouldn't be so simple, nor would her fate be so good if she failed in healing the person in front of her.
Sadly though, Haru couldn't know what would happen to her once she failed in her task, the only thing she could do was try her best and home she doesn't fail.
Under Diana's somewhat hopeful eyes, Haru's stand, Soothing Soul, stretched out its hands towards Jotaro and formed a triangle with its palm.
A moment later, a beam of green light suddenly formed inside this triangle, before flying towards Jotaro a moment later.
As she knew that this could be extremely challenging, Haru did not hold anything back, and outputted her full power towards Jotaro from the get-go.
In but an instant, the beam of green light had surrounded Jotaro.
1 second.
2 seconds.
3 seconds.
In what seemed like no time at all, over thirty seconds had passed ever since Haru had first launched that green beam.
By now, large beads of sweat had begun falling down on Haru's forehead, at the same time, her legs had begun shaking, but even so, no change seemed to occur with her patient.
No matter how much power Haru sent out, or for how long, nothing seemed to change in the slightest with Jotaro.
Seeing this scene, a somewhat disappointed look appeared on Diana's face, but even so, Diana continued carefully watching the scene in front of her, making sure that she missed absolutely nothing.
By the time that 40 seconds had passed since Haru had begun healing Jotaro, Haru's legs had now begun heavily shaking, on the other hand, the disappointed expression on Diana's face disappeared, having been replaced by a thoughtful one.
By the time 50 seconds had passed, both Haru's mind and body were reaching their limits, at the same time, a full blow smile had appeared on Diana's face.
...
As she continued staring at the man in front of her, who did not seem to have any desire to heal, Haru couldn't help but grit her teeth, as a feeling of terror crept up inside of her.
Because of this feeling, even the extreme exhaustion that Haru was feeling seemed to vanish, being replaced by a huge burst of strength instead.
"You can stop, that's enough."
Even so, the moment Haru heard those words, she all strength suddenly left her legs, as she seemingly lost her source of power.
Thankfully, though, a pair of hands caught Haru before she could fall to the ground.
...
After carefully placing Haru on the ground, Diana immediately approached the body of the sleeping Jotaro, causing her to stare at a particular part, his left pinky finger.
The left pinky finger was a completely insignificant body part, with no special meaning in the slightest, but as she stared at it, Diana couldn't help but smile.
Compared to how it was back then, even though the finger was still clearly rotted, it had healed a tiny bit.
