25. Valerie's Suspicion

Lionel, who had just returned to his room, immediately thought about Valerie's words. The black and white cat that the woman met in front of her house, is currently going somewhere. This makes Lionel suspect that the cat's arrival was only to spy on his whereabouts at Valerie's house.

"Could she have been following me all this time? But why didn't she help me when I was in trouble because I was kidnapped by unknown men? When in the kingdom she said that she cares for me and wants to save my father's kingdom and save me from bad people like Sheryl and her gang but why when outside the palace she avoids? Who is she and what is her interest in approaching me?"

Prince Lionel ruffled his hair remembering some dead end questions he couldn't answer. He then stepped closer to the window and tried to look out. He wanted to make sure that the cat could be seen from where he was standing and the cat could not see it but hope was hopeless. The beast he had been looking for had completely disappeared and left no trace behind.

"Apparently you are indeed a cowardly animal, sweetie. You only dared to appear behind me and would never appear when I tried to find you. Just watch out until we meet. I will not just let you go even when one day I succeed in occupying my kingdom again then you are the first creature I want to ask."

After being satisfied with his activities in the room, Prince Lionel then stepped outside to look for Valerie who was currently in the yard collecting firewood. Lionel approached the old woman and tried to help her lift the large log that was still in front of him. Several times Lionel was overwhelmed when the wood didn't move at all. Seeing Prince Lionel's activity, Valerie then held out a wooden knot and asked the man to carry it into the kitchen.

"This is all you can do. I'm sure you've never used your soft hands for rough work like what you're doing."

"But even though I've never done anything, I believe I can help my mother. Don't worry. I will fail when my mother thinks I am not capable enough to do a difficult job. I will train and learn to do a good job."

Valerie shook her head then she waved her hand asking Prince Lionel to leave the place. Somehow the woman felt a fear of physically harming Prince Lionel when she involved the man in her work. Even though she was already overwhelmed with what she was doing, she didn't want to ask her adopted son to go to great lengths to help her.

"You don't have to be afraid to ask me for help. I will definitely stretch out my hand to help mother whatever you want."

"That's okay. Now leave me here. Mother still has other work that no one else can do. Now go into the house and don't ever come out until I call you."

Prince Lionel frowned at Valerie's words. He didn't know what the woman would do after she headed home.

Seeing Lionel's display hesitating to leave her, Valerie then approached the man and led him into the house.

"Don't be a rebellious child. I really don't want to involve you in this. Whatever I'm going to do, you have to be sincere not to peek at her at all because once you peek, I'll have an accident."

Prince Lionel frowned at Valerie's words. Even though the woman forbade it, she still felt curious about what her adoptive parents had to say. He then walked away from Valerie while carrying a bundle of firewood to the kitchen. Valerie, who saw Prince Lionel's departure, then locked the house from the outside so that her adopted son could not visit her when she was doing secret activities.

"I'm sorry if I can't explain to you at this time about the activities that will take up my time. I really don't want to see you peeking at me because it's too risky. I'm willing to face any risk as long as you can be safe inside. From the few whispers I heard in my ear about the cat I just met, I became sure that it was not a random cat so now I will meditate to communicate with the creature. I don't want you to distract me Leon."

Valerie then stepped off the terrace to a small hut she had built on a tree. The place he deliberately hid from others so that he could be solemn in doing meditation.

After closing her eyes Valerie jumped and she immediately sat in the tree house. Her eyes closed and she put her hands in front of her chest while her mouth kept muttering asking for help from the almighty to tell her about the creatures she believed were still around her.

"Come before me and I want us to communicate. Never make me curious and never disturb my child. Your presence around me makes me curious and finally he asks about you. Come on, come on over here and we'll get acquainted. I'm Valerie, an old woman who still has the desire to help the civilization of the world to change the evil environment into a conducive environment so that it is comfortable for anyone to live in."

There was no response from the nature she spoke to. Valerie still closed her eyes and she felt a gentle breeze brushing against her skin. Valerie is still trying to close her eyes and make sure that she's not alone in the tree house right now. Several times Valerie made sure that her mind could read her surroundings correctly without any doubts.

"O Lord I take refuge in you from the evil creatures that are currently roaming around me. I just want to meet the creature and ask her not to disturb Leonel. It seems that she is indeed provoking and disturbing my son's mind so that he no longer concentrates on living his life in refuge as he is now. If I manage to find her I will definitely remind her not to disturb my son. O Lord help me so that I can meet her and beg."

Valerie kept muttering until a few moments later she tried to open her eyes. Valerie was completely stunned by the events that were in front of her at this time. Her eyes bulged and her mouth opened wide when she saw a pair of female legs standing in front of her.
