It was customary for me to meet the cast of each production that Riverstone Theater put on. Plus, it was the first day of rehearsals, which meant that Ellie Collins was going to be there.
I watched her throughout the rest of the reading. She was a natural, just like I knew she would be. Despite the fact that she was the youngest among this cast, she would make a fine Hermia.
It was the wedding scene. The boy playing Lysander gave her a subtle look up and down as they stood to pretend to be standing in a wedding ceremony. He looped an arm around her waist as well. Thankfully, they didn’t kiss since it was just a cold reading, but I did feel my jaw clenched through the scene.
Was I really that upset about other men approaching her?
The production team applauded politely when the reading was through and the actors were told to take a break.
