Chapter 40.

I loved being Robyn's mum. She was a wonderful baby, and she was quiet. I loved playing with her and touching her chubby cheeks.

Things were still shaky with Liam and I, he couldn't see Robyn a lot because we didn't want to put her in danger but it had been 1 month since she was born and I desperately wanted for Liam to get to know Robyn a lot but unfortunately, it just couldn't happen.

Everyone in my family loved Robyn, Raegan was fond of her and liked to stare at her for long periods of time and she enjoyed touching her tiny feet. I found it weird how 9 months ago it was Raegan that was a newborn baby and everyone was stroking her feet but now she did that to baby Robyn.

I had received no more threats from that person but I still trod carefully and made sure to always have someone with Robyn at all times. I didn't care about myself, I just wanted my daughter to be safe.

I had been watching the news for about 20 minutes and all they had talked about was how there was a massive car crash but there was only 1 fatality. My heart went out to that person's family. I hoped that they could cope and everything would get better, eventually.

I blankly stared at the tv as I thought about all the people that could be out for me.

What if it was Ella? Because I slept with Liam?

Maybe Grace?

Why would it be Grace though? Yes, I had been a terrible sister, but we just drifted apart and our parents split up and I didn't have it in me to talk to her.

Was it Hea-?

Robyn's cry brought me out of my thoughts and I quickly got up to take her out of her crib. I sat down on my bed and took my shirt off and unclasped my bra. I was alone at home so I wasn't worried about someone walking in because I knew it wouldn't happen.

I brought Robyn's head to my nipple, and she eagerly clasped on and sucked. I stared down at her eyes and I felt mine fill with tears of joy. I created this tiny being, and I loved her with all my heart. No one could understand the love I had for my baby.

When Robyn was full, I burped her and cooed at her before putting her back in her crib. I then put my shirt back on and grabbed the baby monitor and went back downstairs to cook lunch.

As I was plating the pasta that I had cooked, I heard a knock on my door and I headed to the front door trying to get there before Nero as I knew that he would start barking and it would irritate Robyn.

I opened the door, and I was shocked by whom I saw.

"Erm hi? Can I help you, officer?" I moved to the side so that the police officer could enter my house.

"Hello, Miss Wheater. I just want to ask you a few questions and then I've got some news for you."

"Please sit down, sir. And go ahead." My voice was shaky. I feared that something had happened to my family.

"Thank you, ma'am. Miss Wheater, I believe you were being threatened by someone. Am I right?"

I was about to answer when I heard noises from the baby monitor and I glanced down at it to see Robyn's lip wobbling.

"Excuse me." I gave him a small smile and quickly retrieved Robyn from her crib and walked back to the living room and sat down across the police officer while peppering kisses on Robyn's face.

"Yes, sir. I was being threatened, and I obliged to most things that the person was telling me to do because I didn't want to put my princess in harm's way."

"Ma'am, when did this all start?"

"About a year and a half ago. Sometimes they'd stop for a few months but then they'd start again. Why what's happened?"

"We believe the person who did this has died in a car crash." His voice was monotonous like he had done this plenty of times.

"Who was it? And correct me if i'm wrong but was it the car crash that happened about 40 minutes ago?"

"Yes ma'am. We believe it was Heather Fish."

"W-What? How do you know?" My heart dropped in my chest. I couldn't believe it. Heather and I used to be close friends when we were younger and we only disliked each other because she had slept with Liam when we were together but I couldn't believe she'd do something like this to me. Was she the one that had blackmailed me into having sex with that man so that my family would stay safe? I honestly had a feeling that it was her because she was the only one who hated me enough to do something like that.

"We retrieved her phone from the crash and she was in the middle of typing a text to you when the accident occurred. We also believe that she did this because there may have been conflict between you two as her half-sister was Miss Ella Worthington and she thought Mr. Liam Smith had left her sister for you."

"Oh. Yeah, maybe that's why but that never happened so I won't let it bother me. So am I safe now? Is my daughter safe?"

"Yes, ma'am. I will take my leave now. If there are any more issues, then please inform us. Thank you." He got up and quickly left.

I got up with Robyn in my arms and called Liam.

"Hello?" He picked up after 2 beats.

"Hi Liam, we need to talk. Please come over if you're not busy." I placed my phone in the space between my shoulder and my ear and leaned towards it.

"I'm a little busy right now but I can be there in about 20 minutes?" I heard lots of chatter from his end of the phone as I walked around with Robyn with the aim to make her fall asleep.

"Yeah, that's fine."

"Okay, bye Kehlani. See you soon."

When Robyn was asleep, I placed her in her crib and went downstairs to finish eating.

Once I had finished eating, I poured Nero's food in his bowl and he ran up to it and ate while wagging his tail.

I opened the door when Liam knocked, and I let him in. We walked to the living room, and both sat down.

"Wha-"

"Did you cause it?"

"Did I cause what?"

"Did you find out who was threatening Robyn and did you cause a crash that would kill them?" My gut was telling me it involved Liam, and I didn't know if I should've trusted my instincts or not.

"No. Is that it?" I instantly knew that Liam was involved when he gave me a curt and short reply. He never did that unless he was trying to hide something from me.

"It was Heather Fish. Heather and your ex Ella were sisters and the police believe that she did all of this because you cheated on Ella with me. Robyn is safe now. We are all safe."

"I'm glad that Robyn and everyone else is safe now," he gave me a nervous look and gave me an unsure smile "does this mean we can be together now?"

I gave him a small smile, and I nodded. Robyn could finally have parents who loved each other and were in a romantic relationship.

"I will say it again then. I've had a taste of love Kehlani, and now I never want to stop loving you."

I got up off the sofa and I walked to Liam and a few tears slipped out of my eyes and formed a trail down my cheeks. "I love you too Liam." He got up, and he gazed down at me as he towered over me and we both leaned in.

Our lips met in the middle and we instantly both closed our eyes as our lips molded together.

My life was finally looking up. I loved Liam, and he loved me and we had a beautiful daughter who had a family that would do anything for her. I felt like my world was finally complete.
