Tharn And Type

Tharn had Tar on his mind when he walked into his dorm room to find Type sitting on his bed.

"Type? You're back already?"

"Have you eaten? I've got snacks."

He wanted to be on good terms with him. Although, he just wanted time alone to think about his meeting with Tar. But he didn't expect the next thing to happen. As he makes his way over to the nightstand that separates him and Type's bed, he sat his backpack on his bed.

"Tharn."

"Hm."

"I have something to ask."

As Tharn is rummaging through his bag he asked, "about what? And why do you seem so tense?"

While his mind had been wandering a bit, it's not like he wasn't aware of Type's strange behavior. That's when Type came out and asked him, "Are you gay?"

Tharn paused and slowly looked up. Type stood while looking at Tharn's back, "well?"

He took a deep breath and turned to face him. Honestly, it was bound to come out either way. It wasn't like he was trying to hide it. "Yes." He admitted.

"Then I must be frank." His expression showed his despise after Tharn's confirmation. "I hate gays."

Type had stepped a little closer as he faced him.

"What do you want me to do?" Tharn asked.

"Either you or I gotta move out" Type says.

"And you're disgusted...just because I'm gay?" Tharn asked.

"That's right. Yeah."

Tharn wasn't going to care about it though, "and how does me being gay...have anything to do with you?"

Type darted his gaze, it's clear that it was good question.

"It doesn't, but I won't live with gays." Type says with a disgusted tone.

Tharn was holding on to a single thread of his patience, "then you should move out, because I'm not the one with the problem." He says.

He leans in a bit, "it's you."

"Tharn. I'll say it one more time. I hate gays with all my guts. If I knew you were gay, I wouldn't have come near you. You filthy perv!"

Tharn didn't care for this conversation. He had enough on his plate. Before he leaves this room he shouldn't back down.

"That's not my business. Either way, I'm not moving out, even if I have to live with a narrow-minded jerk like you." Tharn says.

Tharn wanted to be friends with Type. He never expected to be dealing with this bullshit.

"You must leave!" Type argued.

Tharn stepped around him and made his way to the door. He paused, "I don't know what shit you've been through, even if you get rid of me, you can't live in this society if you still judge people with that ridiculous logic."

He turned to look back at him, "remember that."

"Hey, where are you going. I'm not finished talking to you!" Type called out.

"Congratulations, you must live with this gay man...for a year."

Tharn slammed the door closed on his way out.

Tharn already had a lot on his plate. With Tar's return and now Type who turned out to be homophobic. What more did he have to go through?

After Tharn left the room, Type went down to the reception area where dorm's are usually distributed.

He faced the girl at the desk, "I want to change rooms." He demanded.

The girl was holding a book before she stood to face him, "no can do, all dorms are jam-packed this year. Do you realize how lucky you are to even get a room? Not many upperclassmen get a room because of the freshmen."

Type wasn't giving up, "but I need it no matter what."

"Um...you can share a room with me."

Type turned to see a cute kid standing behind him.

The girl frowned, "aren't you a freshman?" She asked.

"Is that a problem? Can freshmen not share a dorm with the seniors?" He asked.

The boy faced him with a smile, "I'm Tar, a freshman that live in this building. If you don't mind it, I can share a room with you. I just learned that my room mate moved out." He says.

"Then...if you don't mind." Type agrees. He turned to the girl who shrugged, "I guess it should be fine since he offered. Here's the room key."

After handing over the room key he turned to face Tar, "since we'll be room mates from now on, I should introduce myself, the name's Type. I'm glad you appeared at the perfect time."

Tar gave a respectful wai, "it's a pleasure to be of help, Phi."

This had been my plan all along. If I hadn't did it like this it would have ruined my chance to separate those two. In this life, I will be the one to befriend Type and help him overcome his past. It should be much easier if Type knew we had undergone the same tragedy.
