Sounds Like A Blackmail to Me

The walk to the harbor was uneventful.

Well, that was one way to put it because, like it or not, Azran and Sunny went head to head again in an impromptu fight. And not for a just cause either.

"It's just bread!" the green-haired girl crossed her arm in front of her chest.

"Just bread, you say?!" the now blond-haired boy couldn't take it, "Say that again when you have no food for the last three days!"

"We literally ate the same thing!"

"Exactly! How do you expect someone like me can last with a handful of peanuts for three days? Give me back my bread!"

"You want me to puke it all on you? Is that what you want?" Azran opened her mouth and made a gagging noise, kindly demonstrating what she'd do if Sunny pushed it too far.

"That's disgusting! Stop it, you bastard!"

Heon took a deep breath and sighed, cupping his swelling cheek and a black eye. "Why do I have to suffer like this?"

Both pairs of eyes turned in his direction.

"It's necessary," Sunny told him without an ounce of guilt. He should be guilty, as he was the one who punched him without any prior notice.

"I hate to agree with this maniac murderer, but it really is necessary." For her part, Azran appeared to show more guilt than she should have, considering she just stood by without saying anything earlier.

"But, punching me? Seriously, if you want me to change my appearance, I'll gladly do it." Instead of being a punching bag, of course.

"Listen here, buddy," the blond-haired healer mage sling his arm on Heon's shoulder, bringing his face closer. "This is the perfect cover for you."

"How come?" Heon grumbled, not believing him at all.

"You'll see," Sunny said without any further explanation.

They had arrived at Littlebarrow's harbor. From here, the three of them would hop on a boat to cross the sea.

Heon had to swallow his pain, but true to their words, no one really looked at them as they walked amongst the busy street where people were milling about.

Perhaps because they wore their cloaks to cover most of their defining features. Maybe it was also because the two of them had changed hair colors. Perhaps because Heon's face was swollen, complete with a black eye, and it was far from how the posters on the wall painted him.

Sunny took the lead as they crept to where some big ships, and medium-size boats were waiting for the passengers and many goods to load.

"Myron!" the blond-haired healer mage suddenly shouted from the top of his lungs, prompting Heon to elbow him none too gently and Azran to stomp on his foot.

"Oh, fuck!" he groaned at the same time the green-haired mage half-whispered, "Why are you drawing people's attention to us, idiot?"

Grinning even wider, Sunny decided to ignore their protest. He even waved his hands enthusiastically in the air. The manic boy was genuinely successful in drawing people's attention, wasn't he?

"Myron, how are you doing, buddy? Still transporting beautiful goods, I see?!"

A bodybuilder-like, ruddy-skinned man with thin lips previously standing tall near a faded red boat frantically approached them while looking at the surroundings. "What are your crazy ass doing here, you moron?!"

"Myron Wade, my dear old friend, are you up for a challenge?!"

"Shut you trap or I'll tell the guard that the partner in crime of the kingdom's most wanted murderer is here!"

"Oh? Please do. I also have something to tell the guards," Sunny winked, grinning so vast to show his row of white teeth menacingly. "About a certain grumpy muscly seaman who transports slaves. I'm sure they'd love to chat more of that too."

The muscled man named Myron growled and looked as if he was ready to beat Sunny's face to a pulp. Though, he seemed to have a good restrain because the next thing he did was bring Sunny in a friendly headlock. His laugh boomed in the busy harbor.

"Long time no see, you jerk!" Myron even ruffled Sunny's blond hair while forcing a broad smile on his face.

Indeed, they were not good friends. Not with a blatant threat like that.

Then, in a lower volume, Myron said, "If you're not a damn cockroach, I'll kill you with a punch for drawing people's attention. Don't ever pull something like that again, you hear me?"

Heon could hear him. It was frighteningly clear, despite the chuckle Sunny let out slipping from his mouth. "Noted."

Myron gave a last rough ruffle to Sunny's blond strands before he asked, "What do you want from me?"

"A trip to Ecklet Island."

Myron blinked. Silent for a moment. Then, he laughed out loud even though there was nothing funny. At least, to Heon and his two squabbling companions.

"You're literally a walking, hottest bounty in the entire kingdom and you want to go where famous people from the capital spent their leisure days?!"

Heon didn't know about that. Surely Azran would mention it if she knew about it either. For Sunny, well, he wouldn't hold his breath.

However, looking back at it again, they were coming to Ecklet Island because Azran knew someone from the capital. Someone she trusted enough to get some correct information about this absolute shitty show that was Heon's life now.

"Wait, you're serious?" Myron repeated, eyes blown wide; it looked comical. "You finally fucking lost your nuts, huh?"

"Hey, you owe me one. This is the payment I demand," Sunny calmly stated.

Myron sighed in defeat but nodded anyway. "True. I do owe you for my little harem."

That wasn't something Heon would like to hear, but whatever. There was a more important thing compared to a stranger's harem.

"Better make it quick then. We're going tonight."

"Now!" Azran suddenly chimed in, startling him.

It was only then that Myron seemed to notice Sunny's companions. "Who are you?"

"Oh, she's Azran, a bastard who's obsessed with my handsomeness and stalks me for sometimes now."

The green-haired girl made an affronted sound. Though, before she could deny further, Sunny helpfully informed, "And he's Heon the kingslayer. Apparently."

He didn't even hold back their names to this practical stranger. Heon would really like to punch that smug, handsome face for once.

"Yeah, with a face like that?" Myron scoffed, "Sure."

At least he didn't suffer a punch and black eye in vain.
