Mystery

Lin Cian, Harry, and June reached near the eagle mountain. June extended her right hand and chanted something. In other words, she murmured something kind of a password or a secret code. After a minute of her chanting, she took a breath and turned her head towards Lin Cian. "Once we stepped you should never stop," she said in an informative tone. Lin Cian could see a tension build in her heart. He slightly nodded once. Upon ensuring Lin Cian's possibility to enter she once again turned around to the mountain and she made some gestures using both her hands.

Meanwhile, Lin Cian turned around to look at the surroundings. In a blink of an eye, he spotted some shoots, some grasses, and some saplings. Apart from that, the whole ground is covered by a mysterious grass which won't wither in any case. Lin Cian was amused to see that the scorching sunlight couldn't affect the mysterious grass. Lin Cian and his group were heavily sweating but the mysterious grasses were moist. As for how they can be moist Lin Cian was thinking of an answer. Before he could find an answer to his question the earth slightly trembled under his feet.

Even before realizing something Lin Cian heard the sound of land sliding. He was shocked but his gaze unconsciously moved towards the sound. It turns out the sound belong to a landslide but it was different than the disaster. The three of them were standing at one of the corners of the eagle mountain.

The land around the majestic mountain tore itself into small pieces and raised independently to a certain height. The multiple torn pieces of the land around the mountain were raised separately to form stairs. It started from one of the corners where Lin Cian, Harry, and June were standing. June is a member of the family after all.

All the three of them started to run over the stairs formed by the pieces of land. It had three three thousand steps in a single staircase. There were continuously more than six staircases to the top. Each staircase had steps no less than the previous one. Each stair had a dimension of two meters wide and four feet in length. They were literally floating independently in the air without any external support. They were all green on their surface but the other sides were muddy like the mountain.

It took nearly a day to reach the end thanks to June's constant buffs. She used speed buffs on Lin Cian and herself once in a while till they reached the top. Meanwhile, Lin Cian supported her with spirit energy. As for Harry, he didn't need that. Considering his level and his speed, he had to slow his pace to let June and Lin Cian catch up to his pace. Anyhow Lin Cian supported him with soul strength.

Harry knew Lin Cian was rarely unreasonable so he didn't stop Lin Cian from supporting him with soul energy.

Aveda, Wei Li, Darius, and William stayed in a village nearby the eagle mountain as they would do some years ago when Loaren and Harry went to the mountain. From the village the top of the eagle mountain was visible. So they can see the signal flares if something inevitable happened.

They reached the top and it was fully green on the ground of the mountain. It was fully green as if the land on the lower level was the same as the top of the mountain. When they raised their heads towards the entrance of the clan they could see thirteen dark spots in distance. Lin Cian became alert as soon as he sensed something fishy. He suddenly summoned Sabertooth unconsciously and hid it behind his forearms. His expressions become tensed. His eyes were sparkling with coldness and sharpness. The cold aura to kill the sharp aura to murder but before he could act a cold yet tenderly hands rested on his shoulder.

Lin Cian came to his senses. He realized the state he was in a minute ago. He slowly turned his head towards her. Her gentle yet warm smile greeted him when he looked at her face. "They are the elders of the Frey family. Hope you like them" she said in a polite tone and once again the smile restored on her face. Then she turned towards Harry. To her surprise, a smile has been stuck on his lips. Seeing him smile at her, June tilted her face downwards and her face blushed a little. She smiled sheepishly at him. She rolled her eyes. She rejoiced and giggled internally. Then she once again looked at Harry who is still looking at her thoughtfully. She nodded at him childishly and started to walk in the direction of the elders.

Once she walked away from Harry, his face turned red. His face had mixed feelings of anger and sadness. The sadness was portrayed purely on his face but anger was painted over his sadness. His eyes emitted the cold aura of death. His eyes looked like the endless abyss from which no one shall escape. Harry didn't notice being seen by Lin Cian. Lin Cian saw everything but he stood silent but he confirmed one thing. 'There will be blood today' he said internally and his eyes rolled nonstop and started to capture each and every detail of the higher land as much as possible.

The tension build up in Lin Cian's body was calmed down and he was extremely calm now. But he found something serious. A serious matter even June was not aware of. Lin Cian was sure that if June was to hear what Lin Cian has found, she will cry to her utmost and it will be no wonder if she fainted or did something awful. He knew she won't accept the truth so he decided not to speak out. On the other hand, Lin Cian could see the same expression on Harry's face. 'So he lied to June! Today it is inevitable' he said himself.

Even though Lin Cian could see the murderous aura of Harry, Lin Cian could sense his thoughtful look at June. In other words, he was worried about June. The reason was a mystery. The Frey family was the home of June, but why should Harry be worried.

Whatever they thought, Lin Cian and Harry were silently following June who was unaware of the thoughts flashing in the minds of her accomplices. June, Harry, and Lin Cian reached the entrance of the Fery clan. "This is the entrance of the Frey clan guarded by thirteen elders," she said in a polite tone while wearing a smile on her face. Harry seemed to be not in a mood to roll his eyes and capture something. Lin Cian was doing exactly the opposite of what Harry did. His eyes rolled to every corner and captured anything that could be a piece of evidence.

The entrance of the clan was very primordial and each and every pillar looked half-ruined. The pillars and the wall were made of white granite stone and were standing very strong but there seemed to be many cracks and some damage. It made sense because it was built a hundred years ago. It looked like a ruined temple with only pillars left. The thirteen dots looked like thirteen people. "They are the thirteen guardian elders of the Frey clan" June almost whispered to Lin Cian. Seeing that Harry giggled internally showing no sign of his physical self. The elders didn't even raise their faces towards her to greet her or to look at her. They didn't even speak. They were quiet as if their breath can be heard.

Much to the surprise neither June nor Harry got disappointed. They instead cupped their hands and June who was slightly at the front turned her head slightly and looked at Lin Cian. Upon understanding her intention Lin Cian faced the elders and cupped his hands. Then June greeted them "June pays her greetings to the elders of Frey clan" she bowed. Lin Cian and Harry accompanied her with a bow to the elders of the Frey clan.

June understood what it meant. She smiled at them and her smile hid her emotions. Her eyes resembled sadness. Harry looked like he would know it would happen but he just faced the ground. "Elders we are..." June started to speak.

"who are your elders? Are you from the Frey clan?" a female elder interfered and started to abuse June with her words. She started to curse June. Harry's anger and rage started to grow like a spark would transform into a wildfire. As soon as June noticed Harry she clung to him. When he looked with an enraged yet worried expression at her she forced a smile on her face and nodded deliberately asking him not to stand for her. It appeared to Harry, that it was not a great idea to pick a fight with elders, so he stopped himself and started to curse himself for him being weak.

She cursed June very awkwardly. She smirked and asked her "How could you marry a bastard who killed your brother?" for which June had no reply. She even didn't turn to Harry. She was confident that her husband is innocent. She smiled at the elder and said nothing. Little did she expect there will be a person for her to speak to.

The elder didn't stop her cursing. She was cursing just like she would chant a high-level spell "You bi**h you even married a demon who killed that lame idiot, yet you fought with us for throwing him away. You are really an sl*t. You could even bring a..."

"Shut up you bit*h" a loud, scary, broad, and creepy yet familiar but unfamiliar voice interfered with her cursing session. As soon as the voice invaded the ears of the female elder, she stood frozen. She was shocked to the core. Not only her but the whole gang of the elders. They were stunned and dumbfounded.
