Hunters

Lin Cian felt a familiar feeling that he got only from his home.

'Is someone was caressing my hair' Lin Cian thought to himself. He felt a hand was caressing his hair near the forehead. It was a cold yet soft hand. The fingers were small but they resembled his mother's hand.

The woman realized that Lin Cian sensed something, she immediately retreated her hands. She was the one to rush towards the collapsed duo. She insisted to help them because she felt a sense of familiarity with Lin Cian. She insisted to take care of Lin Cian and she took care of him for a whole day.

"It's ok June" she heard a familiar voice. She turned to see that her teammates were looking at her. She smiled at them and nodded her head. Then she turned her head towards Lin Cian once again and fixed her eyes on him.

Cough... cough.. cough...

Upon hearing someone coughing deliberately the party members turned towards William who just woke up after the treatment. When he saw the man in front of him he had a panic attack for a moment.

"Fine... you are?" asked the man to William.

"Huh.... err... Will.... William"

"William... hmm... You are fine now and your friend is safe. Just have rest for some more time. Then you will be fine to move" said the man who was near William with a smile on his face. William turned his head towards Lin Cian and saw that he was fine. William tried to get up in his butt, not after the man once again pursued him to have rest.

After seeing that Lin Cian was sleeping like a kid William had a relaxed mind and he made a deep breath and rested on his back but he didn't close his eyes. Once again when he turned towards Lin Cian, William noticed that the woman near him was looking at Lin Cian without buying the eye that held on him. William felt something seeing that William is staring at the woman the man near him smiled at William with an awkward smile. He thought that William might have thought that in the wrong way but in fact William didn't. William whispered

"Is he looking like someone familiar to her?"

The words that came out of William's mouth didn't hesitate to shock the man. The smiling man was taken back by William's words because William looked very young but the words that came from him were very mature.

For a moment he stared at William. After a deep thought, the smiling man nodded at William for which William already guessed. Even though William was prepared to learn it the answer he got didn't get past him without shocking him a bit.

Once again he turned towards Lin Cian and the woman near him and smiled at them. After a few hours, William was awake, but he was shocked when he saw that Lin Cian was sleeping.

William was shocked to see that woman was still staring at Lin Cian. She hasn't shown a little bit of tiredness in her face even after staring at him for hours. William felt sorry for them because he learned that she was also a hunter. Hunters often lost their loved ones either when hunting or because of their incapability of making a fortune. So William couldn't help but guess that she lost a loved one who would look similar to Lin Cian.

The place where they were lying on the ground didn't look like a bed of roses or a bed of flowers. It looked like they were laying under the foot of trees because the trees there were so tall that the tip of the tree could be seen by a simple glance. The ground was covered by grass but some traces of mud can also be seen in some places.

As for the people who were taking care of William and Lin Cian there were five members of the team. Two women and three men. Three were guarding and two were taking care of William and Lin Cian.

After a few minutes, Lin Cian came to his senses and when he opened he was greeted with a gentle yet sweet smile from the same woman who he saw before. She was smiling at him with care and he could feel that she was missing someone who looked similar to him. After all one of his initial abilities was to read someone's emotions which he developed in his initial years before he took the path of a cultivator. This cannot be counted as an ability but it helped him judge a person and helped him in choosing a good friendship. He took a deep breath. After all, she is the one who took care of him till he had enough rest. Lin Cian smiled at her and asked

"Can I please know your name?"

"June," she said after a smile. Lin Cian could feel the way she felt. She was extremely happy to hear from him. Her eyes were wet but she wiped them before answering. Lin Cian saw that William was also staring at him. He realized why William was doing so. He once again smiled at her and asked

"Are you a hunter?"

She hesitated a little bit and thought for a moment. She then nodded her head and confirmed. He could see her sweet smile turned into a bitter one. He realized why so he looked toward William. William nodded in approval.

"Can we.... err... join.... your party?" asked Lin Cian as he was scratching his head. Hearing that June's eyes widened as her mouth struggled to accept him. She didn't want him to join but she also wanted to spend some time with him. She couldn't help herself from choose the right choice. She turned towards the person who was guarding and seemed the eldest person in the group. He nodded in approval.

June calmed herself and cleared her throat "It is very dangerous do you wis..."

"I wish to join" Lin Cian didn't let her finish. He could see that she was taken aback by time and was thinking about the one she saw on Lin Cian. Lin Cian smiled at her and asked where would they have to register for that.

"Blue Moon Pavilion," June said after a little bit of hesitation. Lin Cian smiled and looked at William before answering her

"We were heading towards 'Blue Moon Pavilion'" said Lin Cian.

June raised her eyebrow as it looked like she had a question on her face. Lin Cian understood and started to narrate the story. He excluded the incident of meeting Ayla.

Lin Cian extended his hands. Everyone dropped their jaws as their eyes widened.
