Calm before the storm

We went shoping some equipment. I found a sword that was made out of metal only found here. It is apparently one of the hardest metal found in world. It just costed 21 300 lux which is a lot. Thanks to Revon's help I was able to buy it. Apparently he is semi rich. That or he has many favors.

Aktor bought some polisher for his spear and a ring. He told me that it reminded him of the time when he was younger. He chose to keep the ring on his right middle finger. He was also interested on the cloak that he found but chose to not buy it. Revon decided to buy it for him as a gift. The cloak had some desines that reminded me of Nearn.

Revon decided to go to an enchanter to check if there is any upgrades for his mana circuits. Apparently rank 6 was just about to be brought to use, so he was interested on seeing that. He had experimental rank 5 mana circuits. Apparently upgrades to ranks happen roughly in once a 50 years.

- Wait. If it takes generally 50 to upgrade a rank, then how old is Revon if he has an experimental rank 5 mana circuit?

- The jump between rank 5 to 6 happened in shorter time than usually. Rank 5 was experimental 28 years ago when I was 9 years old. This jump on rank happened pretty fast thanks to a genius youngster in the research department.

- Wait, if you were 9 years old 28 years ago and you fought Aktor 23 years ago, then...

- I was 14 years old, yes.

- Why would Aktor fight 14 years old child.

- I challeged him to a duel. I was one of the north point candidates back then and I was a bit cocky back then.

Aktor ads.

- If I remember correctly you said "I am going to be the strongest man alive so I can beat all of you on one versus one". In a tavern full of drunks.

- That sounds embarrassing, now that you say it out loud.

- Back then I wanted to show you humility, so I beat you to a bud. I even said "If I can beat you and you are strongest, then the world might as well colapse under my feet" and I got laughs from the onlookers.

- I was so mad back then.

- Well, at least you learned your lesson.

- Come to think of it, I actually didn't learn a thing at the time. I just decided to focus on becoming stronger than you and eventually accepted that I am not yet the strongest.

- Well, as long as it works.

Then Revon took his upgrades and we went to eat with Aktor. I realized then that Lex might be interested in this place's technology. I was surprised when he said.

- I know all about their technology.

- You do? How?

- My adopted son and daughter both were on the group that decided to go there and make a base on it 400 years ago. Those two realy managed to strike gold on that one.

- That was... surprising. Wait you have adopted son and daughter?

- Even I was once interested in parenting. By the five do I regret trying that job. It took so long and so much effort to handle them. At least the results are interesting

- So you know where they are now?

- They both are high executives in Havi. They actually married and made some kids of their own. Try asking asking about Ter Taican family and you might hear something interesting. Well, if they are still using the names I gave them.

- I will try that out later. Just out of curiosity, what did you name those two?

- Elxtönús Iv Alexor O Ter Taican and Jinryusä Ys Anaroux O Ter Taican.

- So, I presume they let others call them Alex and Ana.

- Well, yes, but their names are still Elxtönús Iv Alexor O Ter Taican and Jinryusä Ys Anaroux O Ter Taican.

- How does the naming work exactly?

- First name is an old elvish way of naming, Iv and Ys are indicators of gender in your name, second name is more common name used in society and O Ter means birthplace in elvish in your name.

- Wait, so that means you were born in Taican?

- A place I was born was place called Taican, though it is long since been forgotten. Both Elxtönús and Jinryusä were born in the nation called Taican so it shouldn't matter that it is used for their names. Not that the elvish way of naming is popular anymore.

- Would their kids names be O Ter Ikujää?

- Well, to be precise, it would be the station they were born at, but I doubt they named their kids in an old elvish way.

- You don't know their names?

- We haven't talked for 200 years. I don't know how they are doing now.

- Talk about getting close with your kids. You should come and meet them.

- I respectfully refuse. I have research to do and papers to read.

- If you won't come, I wont be telling you any more new.

- That's... Well, fine. I come to Ikujää.

He suddenly appears next to us.

- So are we doing this or what?

- Wait a bit, let me eat this first.

- I have things to do so be quick.

I eat as fast as I can as Aktor is probably laughing internaly. We then go to an building run dirrectly by Havi, not that there are any others, and we ask about them in Lex's way.

- I... don't think that there are any people by that name.

We try asking my way.

- Do you know Alex O Ter Taican and Ana O Ter Taican

- Oh, them! They are high executives on Havi. What would you want from them.

- You see, this man here is their father.

- Oh, I see. Then what is your name?

Before Lex gets to say it, I rush and say.

- Lex O Ter Taican.

- I see, we have that name on our list of relatives. Would you like for me to contact them?

- Yes pleace.

Some time passes as the desk lady calls Lex's kids.

- They are in their office and ready to meet you.

- Are both of them in the same office?

- No, but Ana is going to Alex's office. One of our staff will lead you tho his office.

We wait a bit and are then guided to an "elevator". When we reached the correct floor, we were guided to a door. Then the guide leaves. We open the door and saw an elf man and a lizard woman sitting on comfy couch. Alex starts talking.

Alex:

- So you finally deside to show up.

Lex:

- I was forced to come here.

Ana:

- That is to be expected. Why else would you come here.

Nor:

- Now, now. At least he came here.

Alex:

- You are righ, but we didn't ask for it.

Ana:

- Now that you are here, what do you want to do? Talk about the past?

Lex:

- What is there to talk about?

Ana:

- How about how you ignored us most of the time.

Lex:

- I was always occupied by something else.

Alex:

- Even if you ignored us, you still gave us a home. That is why I was able to forgive you.

Ana:

- But I still haven't forgiven you. You should have taken the responsibility of raising us.

Lex:

- But I gave you a proper education, food and place to stay in. What more would you want?

Ana:

- How about letting us stay as kids when we were ones.

Lex:

- You did have time to play. I just didn't want you to play forever.

Ana:

- You gave us lot of books and a room to stay in. That's it.

Lex:

- It was my first, and only, time I raised kids by myself. What do you expect from me. A perfect parent?

Alex:

- I know that you gave us a lot of your precious time to make sure we were alright. Though you were bit cold at times.

Ana:

- He still should have been more carin.

Nor:

- How about we don't focus on the past and let's focus on what can happen now.

Ana:

- Well, you could visit more often.

Lex:

- But why would I do that if you hate me? I have lot of research to do.

Ana:

- Well, I don't entirely hate you. I just... well... I hoped you would act more like a parent than a teacher.

Lex:

- Then what should I do?

Alex:

- You could just visit more often. It's not like distance is a problem for you.

Ana:

- And you could get to know your grandkids.

Lex:

- You are calling them my grandchildren? That's... surprising.

Ana:

- Well... You did take up the role of our father, even though you acted more like a teacher.

Lex:

- If... if that's what you want.

Alex:

- Then come to our house with us.

Lex:

- Fine.

We let Lex go with his kids and we went to check other stuff like station 4. Apparently station 4 is used as a commercial district and station 5 is more of an workers housing. Station 2 is an housing for the crew that handles the ship as well as where the repaired parts go to. All the stations have housing, but some stations have been made for exclusively for housings. Station 6 is for research on plantlife in Ikujää and station 7 is for research on animals and magical beasts.

We visited the station 4 to see what more can be found in Ikujää. We found plenty of restaurants to visit and an "shooting range". We tried this shooting range and I turned up to be a great shooter.

Then the next day we decided to visit the place where Lex went so that we could see what kind of trouble he might cause. We called him and asked to teleport us to him. There we found that Lex's great grandkids were interested to hear stories about his life. When Aktor heard that, he started to tell his own strories to the kids and they were excited to hear them. While Aktor was entertaining the kids, Me and Lex went to get closer to his grandchildren. Turns out that they are high ranking people themselfs. Then Lex started to tell a stories about Alex and Ana. They both were so embarased to let their children hear them.

The rest of the day was spend laughing around. Lex was strangely looking fulfilled fo some reason. I asked him privately about why he was like that and he just said. Smiling, he said.

- I have seen many things in my life. Appreciating a small moment like this can be an oasis on a desert. I just tend to focus on my research so much that I forget these things.

- I can kind of understand, but as someone who is so young as I am, I can't truly understand a person who is over 2000 years old.

- Don't worry. When you are about 80 years old then I'm sure you understand.

- That is if I get to live that long.

- I'm sure you will understand one day.

We returned to others and continued chating. Then the night time was closing and our departure was coming. We said our goodbyes and left with a smile on our faces. We walked a bit with Lex until he teleported back to his tower. Me and Aktor then founded a place to sleep in and so we spend our night sleeping. It was a peacefull day.
