Chapter 9

Arriving at the front desk, both Nie Li started talking to the receptionist. At first Nie Li said he wanted to take the Primary Master exam but changed his mind after Lu said he wanted to take the Senior Grandmaster exam. The receptionist took offense as if the kids were disrespecting the name of Alchemy and Alchemist. But after constant affirmation from Lu the receptionist calmed down.

Receptionist: I am unsure if you are able to directly take the Senior Grandmaster exam. But you could maybe take the Primary Grandmaster exam.

Lu: Alright, it doesn't matter. How much does it cost?

After that, Lu paid 4000 Demon Spirit Coins total for him and Nie Li. After which they had to wait for a bit until they could take the exam.

This exam was a special case. It required two out of the six Intermediate level Alchemy Grandmasters to come and watch over their examination. After entering the room, Lu and Nie Li greeted the two Grandmaster Alchemists.

Sitting down in two separated desks, the Grandmasters gave their instructions and started the examination. Lu and Nie Li had to answer papers that talked about alchemy. Nie Li started answering right away. Lu looked over the paper and smiled. Compared to the things he had learned already, this exam wasn't much. Lu started answering as well and soon both him and Nie Li finished. After the Grandmasters checked their papers they were stunned that both the kids had answered everything correctly.

Both left the room without saying anything and returned after about five minutes. When they came back they brought along the President of Alchemy Association and their Director. Gu Yan and Yang Xin. Lu just stayed quiet as he let Nie Li do all the talking. Gu Yan, the president, questioned the two kids and Nie Li just answered and talked about t alchemy. He also planned a couple things before hand and shocked the President again along with Yang Xin, the Director. Soon they talked about a deal of bringing back long lost ancient pills and making money. Nie Li and Lu of course needed a form of income. After half an hour of discussion, they finished and the two kids took their leave.

Lu: You're business skills are amazing brother Nie. (Laughs)

Nie Li: It's nothing special. I didn't know that brother Lu was so adept in Alchemy.

Lu: Alchemy fascinates me very much. It is what transforms and supports us cultivators.

Nie Li smiled as the two left the building. Outside the others were waiting. Seeing the two exit the building with smiles, they knew that there was good news. After talking about what happened there were cheers and applauses.

Nie Li: How about we go eat everyone? Lu? Xiao Ning'er?

Lu and Xiao Ning'er: Oh, we've already eaten before we met up with you guys.

Lu: You boys go along. We'll see each other again.

Nie Li: Okay, oh Lu, there's going to be an expedition soon, care to join.

Lu: Ho, sounds interesting. Yea just let me know and I'll be sure to arrive.

Nie Li: Alright, I'll send notice in a few days.

After that, the group separated leaving Lu and Xiao Ning'er alone again.

Lu: What would you like to do?

Xiao Ning'er: Anything is fine. (Smiles)

Lu just smiled and led the way. An hour later, Lu and Xiao Ning'er were sitting in a grass field. The sun started to set.

Lu: So, would you like to go on the expedition with me?

Xiao Ning'er: I would love to, but I will have to ask my father.

Lu: Okay, just let me know. Hopefully you can.

Lu just smiled at Xiao Ning'er which caused her to blush. She didn't know if Lu had feelings for her or if he was just kindhearted. Something she did know of, her feelings for Lu was something she acknowledged.

Lu just lied down and closed his eyes, feeling the breezy wind blow by. This world was truly beautiful in its own way. Lu knew that he hadn't experienced any of the horrific things in this world yet, but he knew that he was enjoying life at the moment.

As he was just chilling, Xiao Ning'er asked a question.

Xiao Ning'er: Lu?

Lu: Yes?

Xiao Ning'er: How did you lose your foot?

Lu: Oh that, I fought a demon beast and it ate my foot. It was my fault for being too weak and careless at the time.

Xiao Ning'er: Oh, what kind of Demon Beast was it?

Lu: I can't remember exactly. If was some sort of wolf.

Xiao Ning'er: Your foot, can you fix it?

Lu: (Laughs) Yea I could. I've just been to busy thinking about other things that I've grown accustomed to it. Maybe I'll fix it right now.

Xiao Ning'er: Now?

As Xiao Ning'er asked due to the sudden act, Lu took out his foot from his interspatial ring. Lu took off his peg leg and in the next moment started using his soul force. He enveloped his dismembered foot in soul force and broke it down. Soon it turned into a glowing red liquid. This was the blood and vitality that was left in the feet. Next he infused it with his soul force and started fusing the combined energy to his leg. A new foot started to grow at a visible speed. First the nerves and arteries, then his meridians, muscle, meat, tissue. Soon his foot had come back to life.

Lu: Finished! Sorry if that was disgusting.

Lu said as he weighed his tires to feel them. He continued to simulate the muscles and when he was comfortable with it he put on a new pair of shoes.

Xiao Ning'er: No no, it's okay. It was fascinating. I've never seen anyone regrow a limb before.

The both of them just laughed and joked about it. Soon they left as it was starting to get dark. Lu walked Xiao Ning'er home and went back home after.
