Chapter 15

It has been a week since I came back from my training.

Today is the first day I started living my peaceful life for the next three days. The reason is because Ash had gone to the capital this morning.

Normally, a royal knight must stay in the capital unless they were dispatched to do some missions. However, that only apply for commoners.

A noble who became a royal knight are usually those who want to make connection with the royalty or other high ranking noble. So, the rules are quite lax for them.

They get 3 months of vacation every year, while the commoner royal knight only get 2 weeks of vacation every year. This is why Ash has been staying in the house all this time even though he was a royal knight.

He used his vacation to came back every year and trained me until the day before he left for the capital again.

Now that bastard is gone, I finally have time to enjoy my slow-life. A pity I only have 3 days because the academy will start in a week. It took 3 days to reached the Royal Academy using carriage from Scarlet territory.

3 days of living my peaceful life, 3 days of traveling time and 1 day to rest should be enough. The student is allowed to bring a servant to live with them in the dorminatory. I will bring Mari with me because I'm most familiar with her.

Unlike my past life where I have to prepare everything by myself before school started, I have Mari to help me prepare everything.

Also, I don't have to study hard since my parents doesn't expect me to achieve good grades. Yesterday, I told them about my plan of being an adventurer after graduating because I want to see the world.

They supported my decision so I don't have to try hard in my study.

Or rather, there is only 3 months left before the peace in this kingdom was broken, so I might as well took the chance to do things that I wanted but couldn't do back on earth.

Now then, what should I do? Come to think of it, what does the protagonist in the story usually do when they have free time?

Visiting the town? I went there every week with Irina. Training? Ash beat me up everyday until yesterday. Dating? I don't even have a girlfriend.

Hmm.

Sleeping? I did that everytime I had the chance. Playing? I don't even have a single friend and Irina is the only one who is around my age in here.

Moreover, she already went to the academy this morning. She had a lot of things to do like meeting other noble ladies to maintain the connections, unlike me.

I thought about all kind of things but nothing feels right.

Then, I remembered about a certain farming simulator game from earth.

Farming needs a lot preparations and took a lot of time. Raising animals needs a lot of effort. I want to do something simple and doesn't require much energy.

And then, a certain scene floated inside my mind.

That's it! Let's go fishing!

I always wanted to try fishing in fantasy world. There is a lake 30 minutes away from here.

I hurriedly got up and asked for fishing gears and lunch box from the servant.

The surface of the lake is clear, reflecting everything around like a mirror. There was a ripple in the water as gentle breeze blows. The sun makes the water sparkling like crystals.

What a breathtaking view. If only there was a calm bgm to accompany this scenery, it would be perfect.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as I plays a certain bgm inside my mind.

Fantasy world is not just about dungeon exploration and defeating the demon king. This kind of peaceful life is also wonderful. If possible, I would like to spend the rest of my life living a slow-life.

I dropped my luggage and took out a fishing rod along with the baits.

Plop.

I threw my fishing line and then sat down while waiting for the fish to take the bait.

The sound of insects and birds chirping somehow makes me want to take a nap.

I took out my lunch and grabbed a bite. A sandwich stuffed with egg, meat, onion, cabbage, tomato with mayonnaise and chilly sauce.

The outside was crisp and the salty, sweet and spicy flavors melts inside my mouth. As expected, you need sandwich when you go fishing.

After a while, I felt my fishing rod shook. It's a signal that a fish is nibbling my bait.

Bam!

As soon as the fish took the bait, I gripped the handle and reeled in as hard as I could.

Swoosh.

The fish jumped out of the water as it fight back.

However, it soon gave up it's resistance. I caught a medium-sized fish as my first catch. I thought I would catch an empty can, fish bone or some old boots for my first catch.

This is much better than I thought!

If I was a harem-protagonist, I would catch a cute mermaid with big boobies instead or maybe a flat-chested loli mermaid. After that, I would get dragged into all kinds of pervert situation.

"Such a life seems nice, but it must be tiring"

I shook my head in denial.

"Let's see if I can catch another one"

I threw my fishing line once again. The sky was already dark when I came home.

It was a fun experience, maybe I should do it some other time.

Inside the mansion, Eva Scarlet was currently lying down in the sofa with Mari standing behind her.

Her sloppy appearance is the exact opposite of what a noble should have been.

If other people saw her, they would be shocked. Noble usually have strict etiquette to follows, however that thing doesn't apply to her. Or rather, it doesn't apply to entire Scarlet household to be exact.

Tea and snacks were being served on the table.

"Mari, can you called Rain here?"

Eva said in a low voice.

"Rain-sama is currently not at home"

Mari answered.

"He is not here? Did he went to vist the town?"

Eva was surprised when she heard Rain, who usually lays down under the tree around this time was not at home.

"I saw Rain-sama asking for fishing gears Bartolo. It seems he went to go fishing in the lake"

"He went fishing?"

Eva opened her eyes wide in surprise.

"I never knew that lazy child actually likes fishing"

Eva knew how lazy Rain is. In his spare time, he either spent his time taking a nap or reading books.

"Fishing might actually fits Rain-sama well. It doesn't use much energy since he only need to wait for the fish to take the bait'

"You think so?"

"Yes. More importantly, Rain-sama looks excited when he hold the fishing gears"

"How unfortunate"

Eva shook her head in disappointment.

"Does it bother you, Madam?"

"Not at all. I'm happy actually. My youngest child finally found something that he likes other than books and sleeping. It's just a pity I didn't get the chance to see his excited face. He usually have a dull or annoying look on his face. Sometimes, I wonder if his brain is actually broken. As his mother, I'm relieved that he slowly grew up"

Eva sighed and then smiled as she think about Rain.

"Is that so?"

Mari looked at Eva with curious gaze.

"You might not understand my feeling since you're not married yet. But seeing your child growth is happiness. Now if only they have partners I can sleep in peace. Ash is busy playing a knight. Irina has high standard even though she has quite a lot of suitors. Rain is.... Yesterday, he suddenly said he wanted to be an adventurer out of nowhere. I agree with his decision, because I hope it will help him grow up. It doesn't have to be a girl, I'm contend if he can bring a friend to this house"

Eva has a worried look on her eyes when she talked about Rain.

"Rain-sama will go to the academy next week. I'm sure he can make friends over there"

"Forget about that child. You're going with him right? Be sure to find a partner for you to marry when you're there"

Eva said in teasing tone.

"I appreciate your concern, Madam. However I'm devoted to my job"

Mari shook her head at Eva's suggestion.

"Come on, now. I already have Ash when I was your age. With your looks, I'm sure there are a lot of men who wants to marry you! If you don't like them, then how about I give Ash to you since you two are around the same age?"

Eva continued to tease Mari.

"Madam, please stop teasing me!"

Mari blushed.

"Oh, my! Hohohoho! So you like him!"

Eva got up and looked at Mari with a wide smile.

"N-No, I don't! I don't like Ash-sama at all!"

Mari shook her head in denial. However her blushing face said otherwise.

"Come! Sit down and tell me the details!"

Eva grabbed Mari's hand and forced her to sit next to her.

"So, what do you like about that blockhead? Is it his face?"

"N-No! I don't!"

"Aww, don't be nervous now. I won't bite you! I know you're a good girl, so i give you the permission to pursue that blockhead!"

"N-No, Madam! I d-don't like A-Ash-shama at all!"

"You're stuttering! I order you as your mistress to tell me truth now!"
