Somewhere, sometime in a neighboring universe in an ancient-looking barn, an old-looking priest casts his gaze through his telescope into the endless vastness of the universe.

He sighs and leans back, taking a sip out of his cup, resting his feet on the small almost altar-like-looking desk.

He grins cunningly as he scribbles something in a visibly by-time-beaten notebook.

Apparently satisfied with himself, he leans back once more, resting his old bones. Suddenly he catches a glimpse of light in the corner of his eyes. Instantly, he jolts up, running to his telescope.

He casts his gaze into the cosmos, once more the same way he has for basically as long as he can remember by now, smirking like a little child who has been presented with a brand-new kind of candy.

Only this time, he sees what he has been waiting for all this time. Speaking with a voice so hoarse and dry it would be comparable with rocks being rubbed together, his voice nearly breaking, he mutters: "Finally after all this time, it has come at last. Salvation." A lonely tear runs down his cheek before he suddenly cries out, collapsing to the ground, his eyes bleeding.

The telescope lenses shatter as the elderly priest slowly ceases to twitch, his body slowly cooling down, signs of rot now slowly enveloping first the priest and later spreading over the entire barn, as meteors hit the barn destroying it in an inferno of flames.

-A few minutes earlier in the city of Ash-

Michael Rodriguez sits under the full moon enjoying the fresh nightly air, his short chestnut-brown hair waving in a refreshing breeze as his phone vibrates, announcing a new message.

He considers ignoring it only to exhale sharply and reach for his phone.

But he wouldn´t be able to read the message as out of nowhere the sky slowly lights up as millions of shooting stars enter the atmosphere one after another, going up in flames.

Michael drops his phone in awe of this beautiful yet terrifying sight, staring into the sky dumbfoundedly.

"What the..." he mutters, observing a sea of flames slowly descending.

However, his seemingly last moments were disturbed as the whole planet began to quake, vibrating to an unknown yet oddly familiar-sounding noise.

Drops of blood begin to pour out of his eyes and ears, as he faints instantly.
