chapter 27
"Don't you fucking move!" the voice of a woman called out from behind Lee.
"SHIT!" Danny readies his gun and takes aim.
"PUT YOUR GUNS DOWN!" she leered at Danny.
"I ain't going back. You tell 'em Jolene ain't going back!" she aimed her crossbow at Lee.
"Hey! We had a deal! No shooting as long as we gave you food! What the fuck happened?" Danny questioned her.
"You had a deal with THEM. I ain't THEM." the woman said menacingly.
"I know you. I know what you are, I know what you do," she told Danny.
*Puchi!
Suddenly a knife flew and stabbed the on the woman hand that was holding the crossbow, she immediately dropped the crossbow to the ground and screamed in pain.
Lee and Danny were surprised, the figure who threw the knife was none other than Conner who was task to watch them from outside the camp.
"You all right?" he asked them.
"Yeah...we're fine," Lee told him.
Conner then walked toward the woman who had her hand stabbed by a flying knife agonizing on the ground.
"Steal my shit? Stealing everything from me," she growled as she looks at Conner.
"We had a deal! You people broke it first!" Danny told her.
"Why are you alone up here? what happened to you?" Conner questioned.
"That's a hell of a question, mister," she growled at him
"They told me I'd be safe with them… men who lived here. But it wasn't safe. Not for me, and not for my girl. They didn't treat her nice. Not at all. They took her away, into the woods. Wouldn't tell me where. And I begged 'em. Every way I could think. They just laughed… so I killed 'em," then she broke down in a fit of laughter.
"And I'm staying here 'till she comes back to me, one way or another… she'll come back...now" she added.
"I swear I'll put a nice sharp arrow into Y'all eyeball...you're not men… you're monsters. All men are monsters. Take what they want and destroy it all.
"Where did you get Clementine's hat?!" Lee then questioned her.
"I stole it from her!" she answered.
"You stole it from Clementine's?!" Lee was enraged.
"So what if I did? You stole her from ME!!!" she roared.
"The hell are you talking about?" Conner crouched down and look at the woman and ask.
"Haha, you know nothing-"
*Bang a bullet from Danny barrel went through the woman forehead.
Lee has a face filled with horror as he looks at Danny.
"God damn it" Danny yelled in frustration.
Conner just looks at Danny but did not say anything.
"You straight up murdered that woman!" Lee told Danny.
"She's crazy!" that was Danny excuse.
Lee just lets out a sigh as he looks at the poor crazy woman corpse.
"It's a clean shot though… right through the forehead.that's good shootin' right here."
"Indeed… instant death." Conner commented.
"So...that's it? We're going back?" Conner asked Danny.
"If they ain't here, I don't know where they are. And it ain't a good idea to go tromping through the woods looking for them. So, yeah, we head back." he suggested.
"Once they see this… they'll get the message." Danny then added.
Conner then picked up the woman crossbow, as now she would no longer need it.
"What a nice contraption, maybe once I get back, I can tell his grace to add this into the list of weapons for mass producing." Conner thought.
The three of them then head back to the Dairy farm.
When they got back.
"Man, that was a hell of a ride, huh?" Danny asked them.
"Jesus, Danny." Lee tossed Andy rifle back to it owner.
"What? You ain't gettin' soft on them, are ya? Not after what they did to your friend!" Danny reminds Lee.
Lee emotion was now in conflict.
"I'm going to check on my mama and see if she need any help...think about it Lee." he then walked back into the house, leaving Conner and Lee outside.
"I'm going to have a look around the perimeter," Conner told Lee and then headed off with his gun and crossbow on his back.
Lee just stood silent, until he caught sight of Clementine at the barn.
He was planning to go check on her but he saw Lilly and her Daddy Larry sitting on the side.
"Lee! What happened at the camp? Did you find any more those guys that hurt Mark?" Lilly asked him.
"We found a woman in the woods. She was talking all crazy and had a crossbow.." he then filled her in on what happened.
"Holy shit. Was she one of those bandits?" Lilly asked with a face fill with terror.
"I don't know. I think she was onto something, me and Conner, was planning to keep question her but Danny just went off...I think Leonard was right about something." Lee told her.
"I don't like this, Lee...wait what about Leonard?" she asked.
"On the way to the Dairy Farm, he mentioned something on about these type of people, he just goes on about how they could be dangerous."
"What kind of danger?" Lilly asked.
"I don't know...just keep your guard up, alright I'm going to look for Clementine's now," he told her and then headed into the barn.
