When they reached the house, Taufik opened the door and said, and then make a way for Jenn.

"... Welcome, I think?"

Taufik said, Jenn was about to enter the house, but she suddenly remembered something and asked.

"Wait, what about your family? Are they in the house right now?"

"No, don't worry. It's just my mother and me in this family. She will be home later, so for now, it's only the two of us. If you want to attack a handsome boy who is alone in his house, this is the perfect time, isn't it?"

Taufik said with a teasing smile.

"Yeah, if only that boy didn't have the power to cut down a tree with a single strike of his katana, then it would be a perfect time indeed"

Jenn replied, rolling her eyes at Taufik's teasing.

"*Tch* not fun. Just enter already and wait for me on the sofa... I'll go make our dinner... Are you fine with anything?"

Taufik asked as he headed to the kitchen.

Taufik had started making his own dinner ever since his mother began coming home late. At first, it was difficult, but he kept trying until he mastered one or two dishes his mother always made, simply by following the recipes she gave him. His cooking skills weren't bad, but they weren't particularly good either, just so-so.

"Huh? You can cook?"

Jenn asked, a bit impressed and mixed with surprised.

"Yeah, somehow I can, but it's just so-so. So, you're fine with anything, right?"

Taufik asked again.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Although I'm from a great family, I'm not choosy about food. But I'd prefer it if it tastes good"

Choosing to ignore what Jenn had just said, Taufik decided to make something simple like Capcai and fried fish. He started by cleaning the fish, but when he saw the vegetables, he decided to ask Jenn for help.

"Jenn, can you help me with the vegetables?"

Taufik asked, but got no reply.

"Jenn?"

He called again, but still no response. Feeling like something was not right, Taufik then decided to check on her.

'Did she run away? No, It can't be right; Maybe she's just sleeping; I think she's probably tired after everything she's been through today'

Taufik thought as he walked to the living room. But he was suddenly speechless at what he saw, right there, in the living room, he saw Jenn was having a staring contest with his mother.

'... Wait, Mom?'

He looked at the clock. 6:57 PM. It was still too early for her to be home.

'Did something happen at work? Is that why she's home earlier? It doesn't matter. I need to explain this, or she might misunderstand'

Taufik thought, quickly heading toward his mom. But it was too late because his mother had already started questioning Jenn.

"Who are you? What are you doing in my house? Who let you in? Was it my son?"

She asked one question after another. Hearing this, Taufik just stood frozen, unable to move.

Jenn, who heard the questions, then said.

"Are you Taufik's mom?... Ahh~ where are my manners? Nice to meet you, Mom. My name is Janet Jennifer. Although it's a little immoral, I'm your son's teacher and girlfriend. You can call me Janet, Jennifer, or Jenn like Taufik does. It's up to you which one you prefer, Mom"

"Taufik D'Arcy Hidayat, what have you done? What did you do to another family's daughter? I've never raised you that way! I always said I wanted a grandchild, but not like this! You have a lot of explaining to do! You're not sleeping tonight until you tell me everything, I swear in the name of God above! So, explain yourself!!"

Taufik's mother demanded angrily, also looking a little disappointed in her son.

"Wait, wait, wait! Let me clear my mind for a while..."

Taufik said, trying to process the situation. Then said again, although looking bewildered by this turn of events.

Taufik shouted in his heart.

"Oh~ God, what have I done? What will I tell my husband when I meet him in the afterlife?"

Taufik's mother said and sighed dramatically.

"Okay! Okay! I'll confess... Jenn, what I told you when I said I loved you and liked you... That was the truth, okay? I love you! I swear! And Mom, this is all just a misunderstanding on your part! When I said responsibility, I meant letting her stay here for a while because I broke her engagement, and she has nowhere to go for now. So I invited her to stay at our house until she felt okay. It's not like what you think!"

Taufik explained while looking back and forth between his mother and Jenn.
