Surely he would have an answer for this question that I am having.
With that thought, I simply rested on my bed for a bit.
…
After a while, someone knocked at the door. I stood up and walked towards the door. Opening it to reveal the person standing in front of the door, it was Risa.
"Hey there Eizo, it's time for the celebration. So come down to the kitchen on the 1st floor."
"Okay then," I replied.
Risa smiled at me and then she went away.
I guess I should get going. I closed the door and then went downstairs.
Walking to the kitchen on the 1st floor, I saw everyone sitting on the chair, waiting for me.
I guess this is their way of welcoming the newcomer, though it's something familiar. I mean I have experienced a lot of welcoming parties, but that's just a memory.
But this time, this is the first one where I am truly welcomed, as this is the place that I can call my home.
"Here, have a seat. We are all waiting for you."
Zarda gestured me to the empty chair on the table.
"Thanks," I said, walking towards the chair and sitting on it.
There was a lot of food on the table, it does look delicious from how they're arranged. I am honestly surprised that they are going to this very length just to celebrate a newcomer. I thought it would just be a rather simple celebration but again, I guess getting someone to join the faction finally is probably a new milestone for this faction for a very long time.
"Alright, now that the newcomer has arrived. Let's start the celebration!"
With Kaido's announcement, the whole table started eating and talking.
"So Eizo, can you tell us more about yourself?" Ask Risa.
"Well, as you can see. I'm just a normal player and there's nothing interesting about me."
"Nonsense, you are a newcomer to the faction. I mean I'm sure you have like good skills or are very good at something."
"Well, it's just normal. But I'm good at the Twin Magun class. Well, it's not like I'm the best or something. I just find the class cool and decided to learn and master the class." I said that.
The Twin Magun class, it's not a popular build according to the Eternal SoulS player base. It's not even a popular class. But for me, it's an awesome class, I mean a two-handed gun weapon and dual-wielding it. You could even shoot a magic bullet out of the gun.
Well, other weapons have a similar concept. Like the dual-wielding sword and the two-handed greatsword. But the main reason why the Twin Magun class caught my attention, was because of the ability to use both maguns simultaneously.
I always have an interest in playing with maguns. So this is just an ideal class for me.
"Well, you seem to have good taste in the class. I mean a good and proper usage of the class would result in a high DPS. But it's quite hard to master, and a lack of knowledge could result in low performance. But if you master the class. I'm sure you can be a good member of the Builder Faction." Zarda said that he heard about the class that I am in right now.
"Well, I do plan to work harder and be a proper member of the faction," I said.
"That's a good spirit! I'm sure you'll be a good asset to the faction." Zarda said as he was quite happy.
"Now that you said that, why did you join the Builder faction? Like we do not have a lot of people and the other factions have more than 2000 people." Aria asked me that question as it seemed like she was rather intrigued by the reason I joined the Builder Faction.
Well, I guess I could tell the truth, and hopefully, they wouldn't judge me by my reason.
"Well, I did plan to join up a faction. I simply thought of a way to make money and your faction leader here offered me a position in the faction. I did ask around for some information, and none of the factions were a good fit for me. In the end, I just joined this faction for a good amount of gold. But as time passes by, I realize that there's more to this faction than what it seems."
I did not lie, it's the truth. My main reason was just for money, and the second was that the other faction wasn't a good fit for me. Most of them are not something that I am looking forward to at all.
"I guess that's a reasonable reason. Not that I have anything against you or something." Aria said that.
"Yeah, it's fine. There are a lot of people who are just using the faction as a means of getting the resources. But we welcome anyone, regardless of the reason," Selestra said.
"I'm glad to hear that," I said.
"I mean we are happy to finally have a member joining the faction, and not only that. But the fact that we have someone good at the Twin Magun class, I feel that's a good addition to the team."
"Well, I just hope I won't disappoint you because I don't have any building skills," I said.
"Don't worry, you can simply learn that from us," Zarda said.
I did not reply to that, instead, I just smiled.
We continued talking and eating for a bit but that's when I realized that not all of the residents here are presents for this celebration party.
"Oh, is it just me or a person is missing here?" I asked.
"Ahh, yeah. You are a bit late to notice that but you shouldn't worry about it... like Kain always wants to be alone." Risa answered me.
"Why? Is he okay?" I asked.
"Well, we aren't that close but I don't think there's something wrong with him, it's just how he usually behaves," Kaido answered me.
"Oh... but shouldn't we check up on him? Like if something is wrong with him, I would feel bad for not helping him."
"You shouldn't worry about him, Kaido would handle it if there's any problem regarding Kain," Selestra said.
"Really?"
"Yes, you shouldn't worry about it, and I hope you could get along well with Kain," Zarda said.
I was a bit confused, it does seem like they are hiding something. But I guess they are telling the truth, I shouldn't pry too much on the matter. I mean if something does trouble Kain, it's not my job to help him. Kain had his master and that person was Kaido. So Kaido is the one who should be helping him if there's some sort of trouble.
Interfering with other people's problems isn't something that I should be doing at all. Plus if it's really how Kain usually behaves, I would just irritate him more by making some assumptions on my own.
So I better don't interfere in it at all… let it just be.
"Okay then, if you say so…" I said.
We continued the rest of the night with some more conversation and the celebration.
…
Later on, we cleaned up the table and returned to our rooms.
"Good night," Zarda said.
Everyone else simply returned their greetings as well, including me.
I went to my room, closed the door, and went to my bed. Lying on it while thinking about some things.
Like I did not expect this faction to be quite the nice bunch. And their hospitality towards me, making me feel welcome here.
But the most surprising part was Kain. The fact that he's not similar to all of the familiars that Kaido has. But again, I guess not all of them have similar personalities as some of them surely would have their differences.
Though it's not like I have any knowledge of the familiar's behavior in the first place.
But at the end of the day, I'm glad that I can meet a bunch of kind-hearted people here. And it makes me think that being a resident of this place is not going to be bad.
I decided to turn off the lamp on my bedside table and go to sleep.
As the day comes to an end, I have a thought. Maybe this will be a new beginning, and hopefully, I will find the answer to the questions that are plaguing me.
And also, I can't wait to start my journey with all of the other members of this faction. It's probably not a journey but I'm sure that I could get to know all of them much better.
Plus it wouldn't be as lonely in here as I thought it would be in the first place. Like there's a lot of people here and I'm sure that it's gonna be a lively place to live in.
With those thoughts, I slowly fall asleep.
