8. The First Step

Karma smiled when he saw her, something that brought a blush to Misha and a few women a who saw him since he looked handsome. However, that moment only lasted for an instant as he began to walk up to her. This brought Misha out of her daze and her blush deepened.

"Hi miss, I would like to register as an adventure."

"A-ah, yes. Do you belong to any Familia?"

"Yes, I joined the Takemikazuchi Familia."

"Interesting... Alright then just write your details here and would you require anything else?"

"I would like to request a set of basic armor."

"Do you not require a weapon?"

"I already have one, thanks."

"Then your armor costs 5000 Valis"

Karma sighed as almost all of his savings were emptied out onto the counter. "Here you go. Is that all?"

"Yes, thank you very much." said Karma as he practically snatched the armor and bolted out the door. He didn't even notice Misha saying goodbye since he wanted to sleep and get up early the next day.

Karma walked through the back doors of Cafe Wishe and ran to his room upstairs. Chris had tried to greet him but that fell on deaf ears. Chris was confused, he never thought he would see Karma so... excited?

In his room Karma was as excited as a little kid that was going on a trip the next day. He unconsciously activated the skill [Serene Lull] so that he could fall asleep.

Karma woke up the next day practically beaming. He put on his [Basic Armor] and summoned his sword as he walked out of his room. He was almost out of the café when he heard Cindy's voice.

"Good morning Karma, where you heading of to so early in the morning?"

"Dungeon." was all Karma said leaving behind a dazed Cindy.

It was only after a few minutes that she realized what Karma said. She started panicking and was worried about Karma's safety. She knew that it was normal for people to die in the dungeon and wished she could drag Karma back. She decided to consult her brother about this matter.

Karma was walking towards Babel when he realized that he forgot to to get a pouch for the monster crystals he was going to collect. He luckily passed a small clothing shop and bought a small pouch for 100 Valis.

As he approached Babel he started to see an increase of people. He ignored all the glances he received and waited until it was his turn to enter. He looked around and saw pallum he immediately recognized, but her struggles were none of his problems. Bell was still coming either way.

When he finally entered the dungeon he acted more like a tourist than an adventure. After descending the long stair case he observed the changes in scenery, which really was just a lower floor and blue colored walls.

Karma had walked for about 30 minutes before finally came he across a monster. It was kobold.

Karma held his sword and took a deep breath. He eyes dulled as he started utilizing [Total Concentration Breathing] and [Serene Lull].

He dashed at a speed that would have suprised even level twos.

The kobold was caught of guard and Karma immediately closed the gap and swiftly cut of it's head in one swift movement. Karma released a breath he had been holding and looked at the first monster core he had ever seen. It was small, but it makes sense considering it was a 1st floor monster.

Karma was left disappointed by the 'battle'. This kind of weak monster wouldn't help him improve his skills. He need to go to deeper floors if he wanted to push himself.

With that, Karma picked up the core and walked deeper into the dungeon where he could meet a challenge.
