Sword Arts Online: Darkness

What if the creator of Sword Arts Online had controlled Kirito and his friends, turning them into evil, and brought the game into the real world, turning it into a giant game world? Well, this is the situation where our ordinary protagonist Roxas Nietes, or Spark78Reformed, as his player username, had found himself. Being a foreign high school student living in Japan with his friends in a shared house owned by his school would make his life there difficult, but his intelligence on basically anything instead made him prepared and an actionist. He was an ambivert who loved music, art, writing, picture taking, philosophizing, and best of all, making scenarios of all kinds in his mind. So, the day before SAO was brought into the real world, Roxas had unknowingly received a mysterious-looking email from a player named Anko Tachibana, who was a deceased player. That email is a request for help because he, who knew Kirito and his friends before, wants someone to help them, who are now known as the Elite Players, snap from their state of being brainwashed by the game. Roxas accepted it after some thinking, but there’s one condition: he will be Anko’s vessel because Anko is now a spirit after his death in the game. To be free from Anko’s ghostly possession, he needed to complete the task in any way he could. Now that he was Anko’s vessel, what would Roxas do to do this big and seemingly impossible mission? Well, he will use his intelligence, ambivert personality, and scenario-making mindset to do it, plus action. That combination sounds ridiculous and unorthodox, but for him, it will be a good one. So, join him, Anko, and their friends in a now-altered reality fighting monsters and bosses across Aincrad-ridded Japan and getting into the Tower while trying to get Kirito and his friends out of their brainwashed state. But the dark side of Sword Art Online was slowly revealed as Roxas and his friends went deeper and deeper for their mission through their spirit guardians. One of them was the origins of Eugeo and Alice (This was what if Eugeo and Alice were once humans who were killed and were forced to be bots in the games?) Chapter 5 – First Day in Class

Third person POV

The next day was Monday, and it was the first day at school for Roxas and his housemates, as well as those who were now freshmen. So, after breakfast, Roxas and his friends, dressed in their school uniforms, went to school with their school bags. Minato, Koyuki, and Shuto had Japanese school bags while Roxas used his backpack as his school bag.

Upon arriving at the school campus, the four of them gazed at the cherry blossom trees, which were blooming this season. Roxas was amazed and was delighted by it. "So beautiful…"

He uttered that line in Tagalog.

His friends didn't hear his translated line.

Later, they went to the school auditorium for the school entrance ceremony, a tradition Japanese schools do whenever it is the new school year according to Japan's academic school calendar. There as the school headmaster was giving out his speech to everyone, Roxas, who sat between Minato and Koyuki, thought to himself, "It would be a good first year for me then…"

He then smiled and continued thinking, "I hoped nothing would go wrong for the first few months…"

But he would be proven wrong 2 months into the school year.

After the school entrance ceremony, Roxas and his friends are now in a classroom for first-year students. Their designated homeroom teacher wasn't there yet, so the students had some free time before class started. Roxas brought out his essentials for class: notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, a rubber eraser, and a few textbooks and placed them on his desk. The first class of the day is Math. Shuto was talking to the other students in class while Koyuki was sketching her latest drawing in her sketchbook. Minato was playing in his Nintendo Switch. Roxas, on the other hand, was watching a video on YouTube with his headphones on.

Then, at 8:20 a.m., their homeroom teacher, a man named Haruto Ashikaga, came just in time for the school bell to ring. This causes the students to go back to their seats and put away their things for distractions. "Good morning, new students," Haruto greeted them while putting his stuff on his desk.

"Good morning, sensei," the students replied back.

"Okay, welcome to this new school, everyone. Before we start our first lesson of the day, let's hear about the introductions from yourselves."

So, the students did so, one by one, and often with elaborate statements about themselves.

A bit later, it was Roxas' turn. So, the young foreigner stood up. "Hello everyone, my name is Roxas Nietes. Full name: Roxas Torre Agbayani-Nietes. I am 16 years old, and I am from Iloilo City, Iloilo, the Philippines. I am reformed in ideology. The keywords for it are reform, rebuild, and restore. My favorite hobbies are writing stories, playing the piano, watching data videos and other interesting and educational videos on various topics, studying languages, singing, dancing, cooking, journaling, cleaning, exploring, and exercising."

His teacher and class were amazed at his long introduction, and Haruto looked into his student profile for confirmation.

Haruto was right, so he looked at Roxas. "Okay, very good, Nietes-san. Your introduction was really nice and makes you very unique in your own way. You may sit down now."

"Yes, thank you, sensei," Roxas gratefully and politely responded back, before sitting down.

Some of the other students, especially Shuto and Minato, were murmuring to each other about the details of Roxas' introduction of himself, making Roxas a bit uncomfortable.

But Roxas managed to resist the social anxiety.

"Alright, everyone." Haruto looked at them. "It's my turn. My name is Ashikaga Haruto. I am your homeroom teacher for this school year."

After that, Haruto said to them, "Okay, our first subject for this morning is Mathematics. Now, open your math textbooks to page 3 after the preface and table of contents to the lesson about…" As Haruto continued on speaking, Roxas and the rest of the students in class opened their provided math textbooks to the said page. The class, as well as the other classes that followed after it in the morning, were good, and the teachers spoke different languages to cater for the language needs of any student. Since Roxas had a hard time communicate in Japanese and can speak fluently in English, Tagalog, and Ilonggo, those teachers spoke his languages for him.
