Caesar knew she wouldn't respond; her fear in that moment was too obvious.
A cackle had rumbled in his throat the second Adeline hung up without saying a word to him.
"This will be fun." Caesar turned to Yuri and Nikolai. "Get yourselves taken care of. We're going on a hunt tomorrow."
Nikolai blinked, heavily creeped out.
Wasn't this the same man raging just a few minutes ago? How had Adeline flipped his switch so easily? It was only now that they got to understand just how much effect that human had on him.
"Yuri, come." Nikolai stood up, lifting the beta into his arms.
"It's okay now. He has calmed down. Let me take you back to the pack, you need to be in the hospital."
A soft breath fled Yuri's mouth. "I can walk… Put me down."
"No, just let me take you back. You will fall unconscious." Nikolai disagreed, turning around to leave the room.
