Caesar was dead serious and Adeline could see it in his eyes. She was quick to wave her hands at him, dismissing the idea.
"No, no, Caesar. Relax, I was just joking."
"Joking?" Caesar wasn't entirely convinced. "I would do it for you if you want though. You just have to give me a name."
"HA!" Adeline chortled, pinching between her brows in disbelief. "You are really crazy sometimes."
"That was merely a joke. I didn't think you'd take it seriously."
"Why is that?" Caesar asked, expecting an explanation from her. "Unless you tell me directly that it is a joke, I wouldn't know."
Adeline looked at him and instead of furthering the conversation, she initiated a kiss, hugging him in the process.
"I love you."
It was crazy to realize he'd be willing to go that far for her without a second thought. How far did his love for her reach? Was she the only one that seemed to exist in his world?
