Caesar nodded. "All for you."
She breathed, not sure if she should smile or cry. "Did that mean our deal, you didn't want none of what I offered in return?"
"No." Caesar shook his head, cackling to himself in amusement. "Did you actually believe I wanted the Petrovs property? I already have more than I could handle, Adeline, I don't even know what to do with it except fund my pack."
"Then…what did you really want?" Adeline asked, curious.
The man rolled his shoulders, answering, "To make you mine."
"What?" Adeline was dumbstruck. "That was it?"
"Yes." Caesar gave a nod. "I really hated the idea of you being with Dimitri. You were mine, but I knew I couldn't take you by force, you wouldn't go with me. So I had to take it slow and steady." He was amused, proud of how much effort he'd put in to get her.
Adeline blinked, lowering her head. "All that…just to get me?"
"What do you mean?" Caesar asked, tilting his head.
