"Huh?" Adeline quickly lifted her head to meet his gaze. The tip of her ears burned hot and her cheek flushed a deep red, prompting her to immediately look a way. "Don't just say that out of t-the blue."
A smile pulled at Caesar's lips and he chuckled softly. "But it is the truth," he said to her. "It doesn't matter if it's long or short, you're beautiful."
Adeline swallowed hard and to avoid doing something stupid like her body wanted her to, she scooped a full spoon of rice and stuffed them into her mouth.
Caesar watched her cheeks puff out open either side and pinched between his brows to burst into laughter. "Cute."
He was happy and he wasn't even sure why.
Even though she didn't remember him, her heart was still his. She reacted to his words the way she did when her memories were still intact.
