Sparks Fly

At the hospital.

Barney lost control of himself after seeing how the maniac deliberately throws Selena in the air as if she was a pillow.

His mind went blank, his body raced to him and immediately locked his hand on his collar while the other pinches his face repeatedly. He hit his face without consideration, pictures of his past flashed in his mind turning him into a monster ready to send the man to hell.

His mind was screaming at him, 'Hit him, kill him'. And a familiar voice of a woman, begging for help was echoing in his head. Eyes so dark, blood-stained on his fist, the man lying on the floor was groaning in pain but he doesn't care.

Kill him, that was what he has in his mind, he knows that every punch he was throwing was no longer for Selena.

"I will kill you, bastard!" he yelled at him, face so red in anger.

"I should have killed you!" he continuously yelled, heartlessly hitting him.

He pinned both hands down on his neck, strangling him to death. He was blinded by anger, the man face was white as a sheet, any seconds from now, he will be dead.

(Die! Die!) he kept saying in his mind.

(Help me!) the voice of a woman in his head was pleading for help, and that faint voice full in pain was giving him the strength to strangle the man.

"Barney. It's enough. That's not him, let him go!" firm hands are stopping him from killing the man, he knows it was Alejandro.

He vigorously shook his head, refusing to let go.

"Barney, stop it! You are scaring me," a broken voice spoke from his side, as much as he wants to listen to her, he couldn't. Her voice was nothing compared to the woman's voice asking for his help.

The man's hand dropped to the floor, his breathing is slowly fading.

Barney was awakened from darkness when a full-force slap dropped on his cheek. His hands loosen from gripping the maniac's neck, his face turned to his side to look at the person that hit him.

But, before he could identify that person, a soft hand pulled his arm, his face buried on someone's shoulder.

A sweet scent, a familiar scent entered his nose. His hands, shaking from pain and anger encircled around the soft body that was embracing him.

His eyes shut, her scent was calming his body. He deepened his face on her shoulder, what he did was slowly sinking in his mind.

He embraced her, he shouldn't have acted in front of Selena like that. Her voice saying 'You're scaring me' started playing in his mind.

The warmness of her body was enough to realize that they were both sitting on the floor, embracing each other. His body was shivering in anger while hers was warming him down.

His hands formed into a fist, embarrassment rushed in his mind.

"I am sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that," he apologetic said.

He pulled himself from her embrace, he got up and extended his hand to help her get up.

Selena smiled after seeing that the gloom and anger in Barney's face have disappeared. She accepted his hand and got up.

When she looked at Alejandro, the man was checking the maniac's pulse.

"He's alive but how are we going to explain this?" Alejandro said with no emotion to Barney, pointing at the man on the floor.

Barney shrugged his shoulder and sighed, "I lost control. I will have to take responsibility."

Prison, Selena thought of that word. She knows that Barney might end up in prison if the maniac decided to sue him.

"Hey Barney, You did it to help me so ahm," she wanted to give an illegal suggestion but, she doesn't know Barney that well.

She locked her hands together, feet pacing around the room nervously.

"Well, maybe, ahm," her lips quivered, hesitating whether to continue.

Lying and forging a story or documents is normal in her family, she grew up in that world. But, she doesn't know whether Barney will be open about forging a story on how the maniac ended like that, she thought Barney might be innocent and a kind of police who always do everything right.

Alejandro breathed as he watched Selena nervously walking around, he's certain that Barney knows what Selena has in her mind but, the man chooses to stay quiet.

To break the deafening quietness of the room, Alejandro went closer to Selena and took her hand.

He held her wrist and lifted closer to his lips, confusion was on Selena's face, he could see it through the corner of his eyes but the woman was not resisting even though his lips were only an inch away from her skin.

He parted his lip before the woman could guess what he was about to do, his teeth buried in her smooth arm.

As his teeth leave its marks on her skin, Selena's scream roared around four corners of the room.

Selena put a hand on Alejandro's face and pushed him away. She felt his teeth on her skin, biting her mercilessly. When Alejandro didn't let her arm go, she tugs one of his ears repeatedly.

"What the hell man!" Barney yelled at Alejandro. The man has pulled himself away from Selena, one hand was massaging his ear.

"What?" Alejandro replied.

"We will just tell them that the maniac bit Ms. Su and you were just trying to help," he explained.

"Do you really need to bite me?" Selena exclaimed, she can still feel the pain.

Alejandro looked at her, eyes so cold it could freeze her body.

"I need it to be surprised to look real. If you were expecting it, you will not resist," he stretched his hand, asking for her arm.

"I won't bite you. I need to explain something,"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!" his patience is running out, he still has patients waiting in his office.

When Selena gave her hand, he pointed at the mark.

"See this? it's proof that you resisted. When the police investigate the incident here, they will know that you were trying to fight back. We will just say that you tried strangling him, hit him in the face in defense it's convincing. And as a doctor, I will vouch to that," his vague voice explaining the situation was once again drowning her senses.

(Why is his voice so sad?) she asked. She spoke to a lot of people and she can say that Alejandro's voice, explaining a simple thing in a gloomy tone was aching her heart.

"Do you understand me?" Alejandro snapped a finger in the air, waking her mind from slumber.

"Yes," she answered even though she didn't get it.

"Good."

Awkwardness came in between them, and it crumbled when Barney threw a pillow at Alejandro.

"Did you check this maniac before biting her? This man is missing some teeth in front. How are you going to explain it now? Huh? Doctor Dane?"

"Hey, I was just trying to help. I need to go now!" saying that, Alejandro flees the room in full speed while Barney was yelling at him to come back.
