Everything Has Changed

Selena and Alejandro spent the whole night at the deck, sitting on the bench, embracing each other under the soft blanket.

Morning came, and they were disturbed by the fingers poking on their cheeks.

After feeling a nail scratching against his skin, Alejandro opened his eyes.

He suddenly felt pain in his left shoulder, he was about to move when he noticed Selena's peaceful face.

Then, his eyes turned at the man standing in front of them, hands were crossed while suspicion was across his face.

Alejandro brushed a hand over his face, he noticed the crew around passing by, looking at them with a shy smile on their lips.

Slowly, he moved Selena's head. Still, not moving. His eyes lowered at her ankle only to see how swollen it was.

Gentleness was on his movement as he carried the sleeping Selena in his arms. He carried her like a princess style, he knows that she was awake for a moment but later falls back to sleep again, burying her face on his chest.

"Have we arrived?" he asked as he followed Barney.

"We did, three hours ago. No one could find you so they asked for my help." Barney replied carrying the blanket in his arms. After seeing Selena's body shivered by the cold wind, he unfolded the blanket and put it on her.

"Thanks," Alejandro replied.

"No problem. So, where is Killian?" Barney asked.

Alejandro shrugged a shoulder as a response, he had known Killian for a long time, and he always comes and go as he likes, not bothering to tell someone in his family where is he going.

Barney nodded as understanding, by that time, they have finally reached the exit.

" I will bring her home " Barney offered.

Alejandro shook his head, refusing his offer.

"It's fine. Anyway, Barney," Alejandro's exhausted face turned into a serious one.

"Yeah?" he replied casually.

"Do you like Selena?"

There was a moment of silence before Barney shook his head.

"No, don't mistake my kindness towards her, she's like a sister to me," his eyes were looking at the sleeping Selena, he took a deep sigh while a genuine smile plastered on his lips.

Seeing her sleeping peacefully in Alejandro's arms, it made him realized that she must have trusted him and with that, he felt a huge rock getting lifted off of his chest.

"Anyway," he turned his eyes back at Alejandro's face.

"Your dad said that you convinced him to cancel my suspension. I owe you one Alejandro," at a slow pace, Barney patted Alejandro's shoulder.

His lips set in a hard line, Barney had left and now he's alone with Selena on the ship's passageway. Suspicious grew in his mind as he thought of Barney's words.

Knowing his father, he wouldn't give favor for free, especially to him.

He sighed and lowered his sight to the woman in his arms, as he walked down the stairs, his eyes caught his brother talking to a woman in an exquisite blue dress, she had a long black hair reaching her waist. Behind the woman was two men in a black shirt and jeans. The woman and two men were having serious expressions while his brother was smirking at them.

He shook his head, this is a typical Killian for him, he wouldn't let a woman with beauty to pass without getting her in his bed.

He disregarded and walked towards his car, after putting Selena in the passenger seat, he strode to the other side of the car but in the process, he heard the voice of a woman speaking to Killian mentioned Selena's name.

His body frost, he walked closer quietly to eavesdrop.

"Well, I am glad that you've finally given me the necklace. If not, I would think Selena Su is really your woman," Alejandro heard the same voice of the woman speaking.

"Nope, she's not. She's a Su, their security is pretty strong and tight, a perfect place to hide such precious items." Alejandro's eyebrows creased with confusion. Slowly, he tried to peek and saw the woman holding the necklace he once saw in Selena's neck.

(What is happening?) He thought in worried.

(And what does he meant by items?)

His mind was pulled back when he heard the woman's voice again.

"Well, this is just the start. You have proven yourself so I consider you to be one of my soldiers. I will send someone to give you the info on what to steal next," after the woman said those words, Alejandro heard the heels sounds leaving.

"Oh! By the way, your brother, I like him. I will send you an address. Tell him to meet me there, I am sure he won't mind it given that your father has done it before," then she flirtatiously laughed.

"What do mean?" hearing the puzzlement in Killian's voice, Alejandro's hands formed into fists.

"You don't know?" there was a touch of sarcasm in the woman's voice.

"Know what?"

Alejandro's heart pounded so hard, his breathing hardened while his jaw gnashed with anger.

"What are you saying, Kathy?"

The woman laughed but, her roar was full of bitterness.

"Why don't you ask your brother? I am pretty sure he can explain it better." Then the woman paused for a moment.

"Alejandro, come on. No need to be shy honey," after Alejandro's name was called out. His feet moved, his eyes narrowed with anger as he stared at his brother.

Killian's face was painted with shock and questions.

" What is she saying Alejandro?" his brother asked.

Alejandro unclenched his fists and looked straight into Killian's eyes. His brother, the man who had been with him since the beginning, is now staring at him with confusion.

"We need to talk Killian," his voice was in a grave tone, emotionless eyes were looking at his brother's face.

"About what?"

"Remember the day father got his promotion?"

Killian rose an eyebrow, he could remember that day, that was the day his brother came home with bruises over his body.

"I need to tell you what happened the day before that," Alejandro let out a shaky sigh and then turned to look at the woman.

"I don't know who you are or what you know but I am not going to your place," he firmly said.

"Fine. I will just have to ask her," saying that, the woman's eyes turned to his car, where Selena was peacefully sleeping.

"by the way, how're her cupcakes? One of my soldiers just loved their coffee so much maybe I should try it one day," after saying that with a smirk, and a slight threat the woman started to leave. Alejandro walked to stop her but, her two companies blocks his way, stopping him from coming closer.

As the woman gets into the backseat of her car parked just a few meters from them, she slightly turned and gave Alejandro a good smile.

"Don't worry Alejandro. I am so much better company than my mother," laughing sarcastically, the woman asked the driver to drive away, leaving the fuming Alejandro with Killian.
