Jay walked down the hallways of the academy, he headed towards the clinic right way. He was going to meet Fen, but the bed was empty. "Shared Sense," he casted. Shared Sense was a skill he gained when his Beast Contract leveled up. It allowed him to see, smell, feel, or hear of any of his Contracted. Connecting to Fen's vision, Jay could immediately recognize the academy's training ground. He cut off the skill, heading towards the training ground right away. Myra, who was in her maid outfit, followed closely behind Jay. "The beast tamer is back." "Who did he bring with him this time?" "That woman is so beautiful." students were talking about Jay and Myra, but he ignored their remarks and hurried towards the training grounds.
Arriving at the training ground, he saw that Fen was training with Stephen. Fen was clearly much better, he looked like his recovered fully. He was fighting Stephen, who was unarmed, with two short daggers. Although Fen was fast and had good strength, Stephen aways countered his attacks perfectly, easily blocking all of Fen's attacks. "Faster, be more refined," Stephen said, as he parried every attack easily. Fen was like a bullet, darting at speeds that even Jay found it hard to capture. But no matter how fast Fen was, Stephen still kept on blocking attack perfectly. Feeling that he couldn't hit Stephen, Fen's attacks became more precise and deadly, aiming only at the vitals. "That's more like it, try to kill me," said Stephen, looking at the child.
He was only a couple of years old, but he was very talented. Stephen had only taught him a few times, but Fen's improvement was as clear as day. His breathing had a certain rhythm, his eyes staring at a prey. Rushing in again, he slashed towards Stephen's eyes. He wanted to trick Stephen into blocking his own eyesight in order to defend the attack, so that he could attack. But he didn't think that Stephen was going to abandon all defenses, going right for his stomach. When he realized Stephen's plan, he tried to defend. But noticing that he couldn't defend in time, Fen tried to jump back. Stephen followed closely, kept on raining down punches. Just as Fen was forced up against a wall, he rushed in again, this time still aiming for the eyes. Although Stephen could see the tinge of excitement in Fen's pupil, he thought that is was already the end to their friendly spar, he punched a lot lighter. But just as the punch was going to land on Fen, he sunk into the shadows, disappearing from Stephen's grasps.
Appearing right behind Stephen after about a three seconds, Fen appeared, slashing towards Stephen's neck. Although Stephen was surprised by the skill, he still had his guard up. So feeling the killing intent behind his back aiming at his neck, Stephen delivered a spinning kick, sending Fen flying. Landing on the sandy ground of the training grounds, tumbling for a second or so, Fen quickly regained his stance. That was when he caught a glimpse of Jay, who was watching him spar with Stephen from the sidelines. "Daddy! You are back!" Fen said, rushing towards Jay. He leaped and landed in Jay's embrace, snuggling close to him. Although Fen was covered in dust and sweat, Jay didn't mind at all.
"Did they treat you well? Did they bully you?" Jay asked Fen. "Nope! Not even once! I've been training since I got a lot better. I want to become strong as soon as possible, I want to help you fight everyone who tries to stop us," said Fen, eyes also burning with determination just like Jay's. "You definitely become very strong once we get more pack members," said Jay, pointing at Myra. "Myra," Fen went up to the woman and hugged her. "Welcome to my pack! I will become very strong!" said Fen excitedly, holding Myra's hand. Looking at the small boy's cute face and noble dream, Myra said, "I will definitely help you, leader." Jay was going to bring Fen and Myra for some lunch, but when they passed by the principal's office, they were stopped by the guards. "Merlin wants to see you," said a guard. "I want to grab some lunch first, I'll find him when I come back," Jay said, continuing heading towards the cafeteria.
They had a delicious meal, Jay still paying a extremely unfair price just because his rank was low. Myra, with her beautiful face, naturally attracted the attention of some of the students. But seeing that the beautiful maid was the servant of the infamous Beast Tamer who indirectly caused the death of almost two classes of students, some gave up on the idea of approaching Myra. Some dumb students decide to try and tease Myra, which was met by the retaliation of Fen. Releasing the killing intent of a deadly beasts, the ones who dared to bear Myra instantly backed off. Completely ignoring the stupid humans, Myra was getting to know Fen, who was her leader. She could see that although Fen was a kind-hearted child who had tons of empathy, he could still merciless slain anyone who dares to mess with his family. Myra could also see the care Jay had for the little furball. When Fen was sent flying by Stephen's kick, Myra could see the pain in Jay's eyes. But Jay knew that in order for Fen to get a lot stronger, he had to allow Fen to fight more enemies.
Letting out a satisfied burp, Jay, Fen, and Myra were headed towards Merlin's office. The guards, recognizing that it was the student that Merlin was looking for, allowed Jay to pass. "Wait for me for a while, it won't be long," said Jay, patting Fen's head. He entered the room, and Merlin was still as busy as usual, controlling ten pens at once, signing various of documents. Seeing that it was Jay who entered, Merlin snapped his fingers. Immediately, the doors closed and a array appeared. "That array is a anti-eavesdropping array, everything I say will be considered confidential, if you leak it, I won't be responsible for your death," Merlin said, as he tidied up his desk for a little bit. "Oh and tell me, what exactly happened to the Fifth Hippogriff Knight Squad?" asked Merlin. Jay, maintaining his pokerface, asked, "What do you mean?" "Just tell me the truth. Were you the one who killed them? The one in the mask?" asked Merlin, looking at Jay, searching for any signs of Jay lying. "I've never heard of the Hippogriff Knight Squad, I only know the Griffin Squad," Jay said, playing a fool. "They died the day you left the city, and died near the same village you stayed in. So tell me, did you do it?" Merlin said, staring at Jay. Seeing that Jay wasn't going say anything, Merlin changed the topic.
"Class Black are going to visit the City of Legions, I hope that you follow them if anything happens, you can call me," said Merlin, pointing at a chair, gesturing for Jay to sit and have a conversation. "But I thought that there is a war going on between them?" said Jay , confused. "Yes, our king wants the Holy Grail, which seems to be in the City of Legion's capital," explained Merlin. "Pack your bags, you'll be leaving in two days," Merlin ordered. Jay was going to refuse, but he was sent flying out of the room with a wave of Merlin's mana.
