Chapter 43: Playing dirty.

Jay got up early today, to check and prepare the equipment for today's fight. The katana that Muramasa gifted him was still gleaming and sharp, the blade still in perfect condition even after countless of battles. What he was worried about was his right arm; he couldn't imagine what would happen if the whole academy saw that he had a skeleton-like arm. Carefully tearing the goblin tunic that was used to cover his arm, he turned it into a long cloth strip. He tightened it around his hand, giving it a mummy-like appearance

"Time to summon the main fighter," thought Jay, as he walked out the door. Located in the middle of nowhere, Jay's dormitory was the only building around. Standing in front of his house, Jay took a deep breath. "Summon Wen," he said, conjuring mana in his left hand. A white array appeared on the ground, shining bright. After a bright flash, Wen's muscular figure appeared. Wen looked a lot different than before they parted. Wen, who was a wendigo, used to have rotten flesh and holes all over his body. However, Wen now looked like an ordinary wererat, with a slightly more muscular build. Kneeling down, Wen said, "Pleasure to finally meet up with you again my liege. I've become a lot stronger."

"Appraisal," casted Jay.

Wild instinct, which gives the owner a nearly perfect perception of its surroundings, paired with Touch of Undead, which steals the enemy's life force, makes it a terrifying butcher in battles against many weaker targets. Like most undead is weak to holy magic and immune to most curses. After being gifted the Core of the Rat King, it can now command rodents and has gained a immense buff in power. It now pledges it eternal loyalty to Jay.

"You've become a lot stronger," said Jay, surprised by Wen's growth speed. He was only a Lieutenant-graded monster when he left, but after only about a month, he became a powerful Colonel-Graded force. Wen slightly nodded his head to show gratitude for his master's acknowledgment. "Time to wake the little furball up, I'm sure he'll be glad to see you," said Jay, walking back into the house.

It wasn't as hard as Jay thought waking up Fen. After Wen got close to the perimeters of the house, Fen's eyes shot open. He darted out of the house, immediately started to climb Wen's body like a tree. Looking at Jay with begging eyes, Wen was pleading Jay to pull the little pup off him. Laughing at the joyous reunion, Jay telepathically told Wen to play with Fen for a while. After watching his two Named having fun for a while, Jay decided that it was time for them to head to the academy. He looked around the meadows, searching for the third monster on his team. Surely enough, Behemoth was laying lazily underneath a tree, slowly grazing on the bright green grass that grew all over the meadows.

Seeing Jay walk near, Behemoth knew that it was time for them to head out. He slowly stood up, shape-shifting into his Ethiopian Bull form. After Jay hopped on to his back, Behemoth slowly trotted over towards where Fen and Wen were playing. Fen was covered in dust after being tossed around by Wen, and Wen was visually mentally drained by the energetic furball. Fen hopped onto Behemoth, this time also precisely landing on Jay's lap like he always did. Behemoth headed towards the academy, Wen following closely behind.

Arriving at the front gates, Jay was ordered to lead Behemoth to the academy's stable. Class was going to start, so Jay told Behemoth to go on his own. Fortunately, Wen was allowed to enter the academy, probably due to the fact that he looked just like a normal demihuman. Walking in the halls to get to the classroom, Jay could hear the students around him murmuring. "He's got a new summon," "It's another low life demihuman," "I bet he got it from a slave market," "I can't feel the rat's aura, it must be a Commoner Grade monster that he tamed," Such remarks could be heard from all the students. Ignoring them all, Jay entered the classroom.

Sitting down where he always did, which was the last row, no one dared to come close to him. The classes passed by quickly, Jay was too focused on preparing for the upcoming fight to pay any attention towards what the teacher was saying. As he was taking the last class for the day, the door burst open. "What have you done?" said a familiar voice. It was Louis, face clearly filled with anger. Some of Jay's classmates were surprised to see a student from Class Black. Seeing that the person that he was looking for was Jay, they were even more surprised "I've been out for two days, and you've caused so much trouble. You think this world is a game? You could really die!" reprimanded Louis. "I'll be fine," replied Jay with a serious tone. "No you are not. Two classes, a total of seventy people. Each and everyone of them is at least lieutenant-graded, you think you could take them on?" scolded Louis. "I'll be fine," said Jay, with a very serious look on his face. "Fine, I don't wanna deal with this anymore," said Louis, walking out the door. "What's up with him? Why did he become so irritable?" thought Jay, staring at Louis's figure as he stormed out the classroom.

The bell marked the end of the last class, signaling the start of Jay's battle. He first decided to get Behemoth back. Walking towards the stables, he noticed that Behemoth was gone! "Shared Senses," casted Jay, as his vision shifted. He could see that Behemoth was in a cave that he couldn't identify. He could also see several knights that were guarding the entrance of the cave. Noticing a familiar family crest on their shields, Jay said, "Rais family, I'll definitely remember this." "Where is Behemoth?" asked Fen. "He was kidnapped, probably by using a strong narcotic or some sort of spell. We don't have enough time to waste, we'll find him right away after we beat the crap out of Class Gold and Blue," Jay said, grinding his teeth in anger.

Arriving at the staircase towards the entrance towards the stadium, Jay took a deep breath. "I'll see what's behind the demon contracts," he thought, entering the stage. Cheers and boos could be heard from the thousands of students and teachers spectating the battle. Looking at the area that was reserved for Class Black, Jay could see that everyone was present except for Louis.
