Chapter 32: Late for School on The First Day?

Jay's room was actually bigger than most of the dorms, located in a stable a kilometer from the academy, he was isolated from the whole school. Using wind magic to blow out the dust, he cleaned out a portion of the stable. "Summon," he casted. A white array appeared on the ground as Behemoth appeared. "This will be our temporary home," said Jay, showing Behemoth around.

As they were walking around, Jay stopped and turned to Fen and Behemoth. "I am worried that people will try to attack us in the academy," said Jay, worried because he was revealed to be a Beast Tamer. "We need to become stronger as soon as possible," Jay said, as he pressed his palm lightly on Fen's head.

A tenth of Jay's mana was sucked up in a instant, powering up Fen. Golden light shined from Fen's skin. Uncontrollably shape-shifting into a werewolf, Fen's fangs grew longer, his fur becoming more long and robust, and his muscles became more defined. As Fen's stats raised to new heights, texts began to appear in front of Jay's eyes.

Fen fainted due to the immense changes that were happening to his body. Carrying him back to a straw bed in the stables, Jay covered him with a Goblin Tunic. Stepping outside, it was Behemoth's turn. "Do you have any names in mind?" asked Jay, putting his palms on Behemoth's head. "Since I am the only one of my species Behemoth will be just fine," said Behemoth.

Blacking out instantly, Jay's eyes slammed shut. He was still standing because of Malum.

"So he indeed fell unconscious," said Behemoth, nudging Jay's face. "His mana reserves are completely empty, what kind of monster are you?" exclaimed Malum. Naming a Lieutenant-graded werewolf only spent a tenth of Jay's mana reserves, but why did Jay faint immediately after naming a Colonel-graded beast? "The Naming Ceremony tried to unseal the seal placed by God himself, of course his mana wouldn't be enough," explained Behemoth, as Malum controlled Jay to walk back indoors.

Suddenly opening his eyes, Jay looked around. He was still in his dormitory, with Fen and Behemoth waiting beside him. "What happened, and how long have I been out for?" asked Jay. "Passing out after your mana reserves were emptied by the Naming Ceremony, you've slept for three days," said Malum. "Oh god, I am going to miss the first day of school," thought Jay. The academy gave the students two days to furnish their dorms and to prepare for classes, sleeping for three days meant that he almost skipped a whole day of school! He was going to prepare for school right away, but after seeing Fen, he noticed that he changed a lot. Fen's human form was still the same, a cute innocent looking child. But his werewolf form was much different, his pelt now became a more vibrant grey, with small streaks of black running up his limbs. "Appraisal," casted Jay on Fen and Behemoth.

"Oh my, you've become a beast tamer yourself," said Jay, looking at Fen's new gained skill. He ruffled the cute boy's hair as he got up.

Walking outside, he noticed that it was already noon. Telling Behemoth to stay behind, he walked to the academy with Fen. When they got to the the front door of the academy, the guards stopped them. "Where is your badge?" he asked. Jay searched through his pockets, looking for the red badge. Showing it to the guards, they immediately burst into laughter. "That's why you were late, you are the legendary Class Red Beast Tamer who has the same stats as a child," he laughed. "That is indeed me," said Jay, as he walked through the doors.

They headed straight to the cafeteria, where most of the students should be. The cafeteria was large, with lots of tables and chairs. He saw a large line of students waiting for their meal at a counter. He joined the queue, stomach rumbling because he hadn't eaten in days. Looking at the menu that was pasted on the wall, he saw that their was a couple of different prices listed behind the same item, the most expensive one being a thousand times more than the lowest price. "Weird," he thought to himself. Not having anyone to ask, he kept that question to himself. "What would you like to eat?" he asked Fen. "Meat," Fen said immediately. Not surprised by his answers, Jay looked through the menu. There were different kinds of meat, from normal chicken meat to wyvern meat.

"I'll take two portions of chicken meat," said Jay, as he arrived at the counter. "Please show me your badge," said the lady behind the counter. Pulling out the badge, Jay showed it to the lady. "That would be two gold coins," said the lady. Although Jay didn't really understand the value of the coins, he knew that the price was insanely high. "Why is it so expensive?" asked Jay. Shouting loudly, the lady replied, "Because a Class Red like you is not welcomed to dine with the other students, so you better pay our get out off here right away!" The people who were behind Jay laughed after hearing the lady. Some even trying to cut in front of Jay. "It is not polite to cut the line," said Jay, looking at student. "You can't even pay for the food, why are you wasting our time," said the student. Two gold coins were worth almost a whole year of a normal peasant's income, so naturally the student assumed that Jay couldn't pay for the meal. Pulling out two shiny gold coins from his pouch, Jay gave them to the lady. "Who said I couldn't pay for the meal?" Jay said, making a smug expression. After all, he obtained a lot of money from the treasures he obtained from Scrion.

Picking up his meal, Jay and Fen walked over to a table to eat. After he was revealed as a Class Red student, no one sat with them. Jay could feel numerous gazes staring at him, some curious but most were full of disdain. Jay looked around the cafeteria, searching for Louis, but he was nowhere to be seen. After Fen and Jay enjoying their delicious meals, it was time for class.

Because the class only consisted of himself, he was assigned to take classes together with Class Yellow. Searching for the classroom, he eventually found it. Walking inside, he noticed that the class was about to start. He sat down on the last row of the classroom, Fen sitting next to him. Numerous students arrived, avoiding Jay like he was a abomination. He could feel several stares coming from them, filled with disgust and hatred.

"Welcome to my class," a clear voice vibrated through the room, as the teacher grabbed the attention of the students. "My name is Christopher, so you can call me professor Chris for short," said the teacher. Looking like he was around his thirties, the teacher looked quite attractive, with an ironed suit and leather shoes, and glass with a thin frame he looked like a professor back on Earth. "This class is about angels and demons," said professor Chris. "Acoording to my researches, heaven and hell don't actually exist, demons are just another kind of monster and so are the angels," he explained. "So we won't end up in heaven even if we believe in god?" asked a student. "Why would you believe in something that we have no evidence about? Shouldn't we cherish the life we have on this land, Hell nor Heaven don't exist in this world. We should do good deeds in order to be a better man, not to enter heaven." answered Chris.

"He seems like a good person," said Jay, after class ended. Professor Chris talked a little bit more about ethics and morality during his class. He radiated a aura of benevolence and love. Although Jay thought that Chris was genuinely a good person, after noticing the weird aura around the professor, a seed of doubt began to sprout in his heart.

If you have any suggestions about my story or any monsters you hope that could make an appearance? Comment it and let me know.
