Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

All-Powerful

"What does it mean to be a Deity? Well, it means a lot, but I can't simply teach you how to be one. Being a Deity means being a defender of mankind. Doing what others never would want to do and staying strong when others don't want to is the Deity's job." Mom explained to me.

"So... are you a Deity, Mom?" I asked her. She nodded in silence and continued her explanation.

"Long ago, when the Rubeki attacked, I fought off a girl named Providence, leader of the Rubeki. Providence was a scarily strong individual I never could've realistically beat on my own. I went through strand training as well, control, manipulation, summoning, everything you could imagine." Mom began her explanation.

"The Rubeki are ruthless creatures made of black smoke, as you know, and they gather together where large clumps of humanity live. The Rubeki often attacked these humans for no good reason and even took away your grandparents after one of their most ruthless attacks yet. I tried my best to defend my village, but everybody was taken away and mercilessly slaughtered by the Rubeki. They're All-Powerful beings who can even use the strands." She said.

"How did you live with their attack?" Cynthia asked Mom. Mom clenched her fist with a smile and started again.

"I had nothing after that attack, but a Deity is at their strongest when they have nothing to lose. The Rubeki took everything from me, so I would take everything from the Rubeki. After your grandma and grandpa died, I grabbed some food and walked into Rubeki territory, killing every single one I could find. The children, the infants, the elderly, the innocent, the guilty, everyone that stepped in my path was killed. I lost my way and became a monster, just like the Rubeki... and I even gained their ability to wield strands at a certain point." Mom said.

"So... the strands make us part Rubeki...? Are we monsters?" I asked her.

"No, because we use them for a different purpose. There was one thing I learned about the different styles of strand usage between us and the Rubeki, and it's that we don't use it to rip people apart, we use it to keep them under our control. We are the puppet masters." She said.

I knew very little about my mom's history before I was born or before she met my dad, but hearing her journey of killing so many Rubeki made her sound... awesome! I always knew Mom was powerful, but hearing from herself that she went and killed off so many Rubeki was insane!

"Seven years into my journey I met an exiled man. He was thrown off from civilization off of a false accusation and fought off the Rubeki as well with me to save what was left of humanity. One thing led to another and we decided to get married out in the darkness of the world we were thrown into." Mom said.

"That's adorable! So, that's how you and Dad met?" Cynthia asked with a gleeful smile.

"Yeah, but our experience out there only got worse after a while. We had to come back but knew we couldn't. That's when we met Zach. The Headmaster of MTG and HTG, a man who has powers that almost rival mine. He's a man of fine ability and offered us a position to protect MTG after wiping out so many Rubeki." Mom explained.

After she ended, she went silent for a few and squinted her eyes closed with what looked like some sort of pain.

"Then we met Providence out in the field. She was inhuman, yet resembled one. She had black wings that soared out to the same length as her wingspan, she had a strangely designed black halo rotating around her head, one black eye and one gold eye, a black and gold outfit, and a white cloak around her shoulders. On top of those inhuman designs, she had blonde hair that receded down her hips into pink tips. I had never seen a girl like that, but she dug deep into my soul and struck fear deep into my heart." Mom said. She covered up her left eye with her hand and took a deep breath, keeping her hand up.

"The battle with Providence ensued and we were about to lose before my golden strands finally awakened. With those strands, I was able to stomp out Providence and cut part of her head, stealing her golden eye from her and putting it into my head after I sustained an injury. With strands, I can disguise it so it looks blue, but as soon as I take the strands off of my eye and look at somebody, they instantly collapse in fear." Mom explained.

"So, Providence has a gaze so deadly it paralyzes her enemies... hey, if you wanted me to be careful with my golden strands, why weren't you?" I asked Mom.

"That's precisely why I'm telling you this. It was to my knowledge that awakening golden strands and using them for a prolonged period of time would result in instantaneous death for me, but I knew that Providence was a formidable enemy that shouldn't live any longer, so I did what I had to do and pushed myself to that limit because I am a Deity. I was scared and didn't want to die, but my job as Deity surpasses my fears and that's why I'm still here to tell the tale." Mom explained.

She was... so... cool...

"Did you beat Providence? Did she die?" Cynthia asked Mom. She finally uncovered her eye and shook her head.

"I didn't get that lucky. Your father lost his arm in that fight but I was able to replace my only injury because I stole Providence's Eye. Zach came out unscathed, but she was so weakened by our attack that half of the Rubeki population died out. We met Shike, Belle, and Alexia's parents after returning to civilization with Zach and became best friends. I was about nineteen at that time... and after a few years, we all decided to have children at the same time and that's where you came from!" Mom said as she rubbed my head.

"Well, you have about two weeks until your entrance exam to MTG, so you'll train with me from now on, got it?" Mom told me. I nodded and smiled.

I never knew much about her, but I'm glad I found out. My mom was strong... and so was my dad for keeping up. I don't even know of my dad's abilities, yet he kept up with my mom who was a Deity? I couldn't help but smile. My entire family was home to a legion of animals that could fight anything they wanted to. I wanted to be like them. I want to be a protector of humanity.

I want to be a Deity.
