I was surprised to hear him suddenly ask me this, but I didn't find anything wrong about this.

So I just said, "I am doing my job as an observer. I'm watching over them as they fight and won't get involved unless absolutely necessary. Isn't that what I'm supposed to do as an observer?"

My grandfather just said with a sigh, "Yes, but going in with them is a bit too close isn't it? Do you really think that this is how a proper observer should act?"

I was once again surprised to hear him say this, but I still didn't find anything wrong with it so there wasn't anything that I could say.

Seeing that I didn't say anything, my grandfather said, "You can easily observe from the outside, so is there a reason why you're putting yourself in danger by going in to observe first hand? I think that there must be a different reason why you want to do this."

I slowly began to understand what he meant.

In short, he was worried about my safety.
