The voice stayed patient despite Randolph's silence on the other end of the line, merely repeating the greeting over and over again.
The gears in the young man's head spun at light speed after the initial shock wore over, though his face was still frozen stiff. His instincts for danger were screaming at him to end the call right then and there, but perhaps because of his shock, the desire to do so lessened as he regained control of his mental faculties.
"Hello. Who is this?" For the time being, he decided to respond.
The phone wasn't important, but the SIM card he was using should have been brand new to all of his original contacts. This meant that nobody should have known it was him, but the caller had found him anyway. The logical conclusion was that whoever was behind the call would be able to find him again, even if he hung up now.
