Chapter 11

After waking up, doing my usual Yin-Art practice, and eating the same routine as any other day I realized however today would be the first day of me leaving the shelter for multiple days. Before I left though I needed to leave God's Sanctuary and call to inform my mother what I would be doing and that I would be in God's Sanctuary longer then one week before returning.

I promised to return for a break and to show my face to show that I'm doing fine. Mother kept nagging me at how dangerous it was with further away from the Sanctuary you got and how she did't want me to accompany them on this hunting expedition until I told her I was the medic and that I would be at the back of the group a distance away from the fighting. I also explained that I was going to do some scouting using my dojutsu while wearing my contacts.

I also told her about Yang Manli and that she may be the first daughter-in-law I bring to meet her when we official begin dating, which finally changed the topic and I was finally able to end the call after hearing how Little Yan missed me and that Han Sen was practicing archery more seriously and studying harder after my advice.

After returning to my room I grabbed my bag and made my way to the Bullseye Base of Operation where we were to gather and set out from.Once I arrived Qin Xuan had me and the few other medic assistants or basically my helpers in one group and we were stationed in the back with a few guards in a semi circle defensive line behind us and the archers in front of us with the close combat and shield unit about fifty feet in front of us led by Qin Xuan and my Group led by Yang Manli.

We traveled in silence the whole day until 12 at noon to eat a quick lunch and take a short breather while a few people hunted some nearby creature to make the best use of their time on this hunting expedition to hunt some creatures they hadn't eaten yet, before we finally continued on our way to our destination and stopping for dinner and sleeping at 5 in the afternoon.

When we were eating and unwounding from the tension of keeping our guard up all day I sat beside Yang Manli and whispered to her that there was a nearby clearing about half a mile from here hidden behind some brush that had three mutant creatures and five primitive creatures.

When I told her this I asked her to get Qin Xuan and the three of us could take care of it and that I wanted three of the primitive creatures in exchange for the info,and whatever I killed of the mutant creatures to which she agreed to before going and whispering what I told her to Qin Xuan.

Qin Xuan: "How can you know about the strength and distance of the creatures when you haven't scouted or even left the group?" She asked slightly doubtful.

Jaden: "I told you I was the best scout in the whole shelter and my ability to scout is half a mile in radius in any direction all around me with me as the center point. however its only a 100 feet when trying to see or sense anything underground."

Qin Xuan was shocked as this ability made it impossible for him to be ambushed as long as its active,which made her question the activation time was for.

Jaden: "I can keep it active for an hour and a half continuously or activate it in intervals of every five minutes to scout a different area every time for half the day since my mental energy has a quick recovery rate allowing me to nearly recover the total amount used during the five minute break though not entirely."

Qin Xuan was ecstatic at the fact such a gem fell in her lap so easily otherwise there could've been many more possibilities could have changed which gang he joined such as taking the solo hunter style which would've been slower were he was his own boss and could move with more freedom but he also could've also charged her and the other two that made up the big three powers in the shelter for his services either by each time he joined them during their hunts or when they returned to the shelter for a professionals opinion and faster medical treatment.

Qin Xuan: "Why did you decide to join my gang when I can think of other ways were you could have charged beast souls creature meat and money to each large gang for each time you accompanied them out of the shelter on their large hunting trips? Don't get me wrong I'm glad you decided to join my group but I'm just curious."

Jaden: "The first reason is that your the one of two gangs out of the big three that sees someone talented joining your gang as a positive thing and not a threat like Son of Heaven who would've had me captured and then killed after doing my job or after finding out all of my secrets and forcing me through torture to give him my original created Hyper Geno Arts after learning of my poor family status with no background or backer,which I get by joining your gang. Secondly, Son of Heaven sees people as expendable and if they die there of no use to him and he wouldn't pay them the amount agreed upon to join him on the hunting expedition or pay for me to use my medical expertise to save save their lives when he'd also have to pay them for their support during the hunt.Lastly you know what I wanted in exchange for joining he would not have the resources to accomplish that and not nearly as quickly.While Fit Guy and his gang are all close friends that know each others personalities and wouldn't want a stranger joining them."

Yang Manli: "Your deduction does make sense but what you said about Son of Heaven sounds a little eviler than what I managed to learn through the info I managed to gather."

Qin Xuan: "He's not wrong about Son of Heaven it's just the info you gathered is from the survivors and not the dead that experienced his evil and cruel methods to complete his task or gain what he wanted from them. He allows some to live to say he's mean,arrogant and many other negative things but just slightly shy before gaining the evil title from the masses."

Yang Manli was shocked someone like that was so near her but was allowed to walk around with people envying his background and strength.

Yang Manli: "Why hasn't he been arrested or punished for his actions then, we are the military presence in the Sanctuary aren't we?"

Jaden: "Exactly this is God's Sanctuary were humans don't have complete control and order much less law so you can kill many ordinary citizens or a week person that's gained strength can kill an young master or other high profile person and it becomes almost impossible to find out who did it without a eye witness."

Qin Xuan: "Enough about that lets go and hunt those mutant and primitive creatures before we have no more sunlight left."

We all nodded in agreement and left the camp after Qin Xuan gave the night patrols some instructions. After we left we walked half a mile from the camp to a place just outside the clearing of the mutant and primitive creatures so we could learn what type of creatures they were,which I already knew but didn't want them to know I could see everything within my domain due to my dojutsu and mental energy Yin-Art though this type of vision was currently covered less distance than my dojutsu, We quietly moved the bush branches out of the way and saw three mutant toads surrounded by five primitive toads they were currently about 100 feet from the nearest pond which had been over run by some weird vine creature I didn't want to fall into others hands since it was a sacred-blood creature and I could come back and hunt it when I was strong enough and we were a good enough distance from the pond to not be detected by it even if we fought.

I told them I would take care of the primitive creatures while Yang Manli could take out one of the mutants toads from a distance followed by Qin Xuan attacks using close combat while I handled the last one myself they were a little reluctant to let me handle one until I told them I would be able to attack and beat it from a distance.

To start the hunt Yang Manli and I took aim with me using my primitive crossbow and a bone arrow with an explosive fuinjutsu on the arrow from my Fuinjutsu Ink Quirk and her using her sacred-blood bow and mutant arrow and released them at the same time piercing two of the mutant creatures through the eye, my arrow didn't kill the toad as it fell a couple inches short from piercing the brain how ever as it was leaping around the now vigilant remaining mutant toad and other five primitive toads the arrow explode while still lodged in its eye killing it and two of the primitive toads instantly and leaving the other mutant toad and the three primitive toads that were a little further away perfectly fine.

Qin Xuan and Yang Manli were shocked but were also soldiers with quite a bit of experience so Qin Xuan charged in with her sacred-blood dagger and Yang Manli and I finished off the other three primitive creatures.

Qin Xuan was fast and charged directly at the remaining mutant toad with her dagger and when the toad shot out it's tongue she was able to side step to the right dodging it easily before cutting it in two before it could pull it back into its mouth. Which made it drop its guard from the sudden intense pain signals hitting it at once as there were many nerves in it. That second was all she needed to get close enough and stab her dagger though its eye and into its brain killing it fast and agilely with not a speck of blood marring her clothes, weapon hand, or anywhere else.

They all heard the voice in their head.

"Mutant Creature Long Tongue Toad Killed. Beast Soul Gained. Eat its meat to gain zero to ten mutant geno points randomly." Times three followed by,

"Primitive Creature Long Tongue Toad Killed. Beast Soul Gained. Eat its meat to gain zero to ten primitive geno points randomly." Was heard two times by me and three time by Yang Manli.

Jaden: "I got A beast soul from the mutant toad and one of the primitive toads,what about ya'll?"

Qin Xuan and Yang Manli: ""Me too.""

Yang Manli: "I also got one from the primitive toads as well as the mutant one."

Qin Xuan well lets see what type they are before returning back to camp, and resting up before we have to continue to our original target location."

All of us agreed.

Beast soul gained: Mutant Long Tongue Toad.

Type of primitive beast soul Mutant Long Tongue Toad: Chain and Ball Weapon.

Jaden: "This isn't bad it can be used to as a weapon or to tangle around a sacred blood creature to hold it down, capture it or slow it's movements. With it's weight it is suitable and versatile enough for a many types of situations. Well lets go back to camp and rest for tomorrow."

The two girls nodded,and after gathering our spoils returned to camp.
