Chapter Two

The sound of her phone's ringing tone tapped out of her thoughts. She had known the caller before checking.

Yemisi must have one thing or the other to discuss.

"Momma!" She whined, grinning from ear to ear.

"Ayoola, how are you?" She asked resting her back on the soft sofa. Nothing sweets the mind than rest of mind and happiness. You can't buy it, you'll have to set your goal and work for it.

Life is not a bed of roses, they say. Life have been so unkind years back in the States. Her husband's death, Temmie's parents murder, just in a day! That was a huge setback; financially, psychologically and mentally for the children.

They had to start from the scratch over again. But thanks to God, he gave her strong children with strong support. Some relatives that have forgotten they exist just started digging the Fashola's family ties history for them.

Some people regard them as the luckiest set of people on earth. They never knew Rome wasn't built in a day.

Tough times don't last, but tough people do. That's Yemisi's  favourite quote till date.

"I'm fine mum, you?" She said, biting her lower lip to comprehend the cars movement.

"I'm fine as well. I just called Ayo"

"Ohhhh! I heard he's throwing a concert here in Abuja but I've been so busy nowadays to hear from him" she replied, cycling the wheel to the left to avoid some cars.

"That's so poor of you Ola, you guys are only three. And you know I can't monitor his reckless life over there. Huh!" Yemisi scolded, gesturing to Aminat where she would put open the large cover of the food.

Ayoola smiled at her mum's reaction towards her poor contact with her brother.

"Mum, Temmie is in Lagos with him now. Besides Temmie is a doctor. Which kind of care do I want to give him that Temmie can't do..." Her smile faded away when a reckless driver almost collided with her.

"Bastard!" She spat, pressing on the accelerator pedal softly to move away from the place.

"What's that?, Are you driving?" Yemisi heart raced at her daughter's sudden reaction.

"Yes mum, it's one inexperienced driver that wants to go on a suicide mission" she hissed.

Yemisi sighed before advising her.

"Drive safely okay, don't emulate Ayo's style of driving oo"

Ayoola burst into laughter at the mention of her brother's driving style. He drives as if he just signed a death contract with the devil.

"Okay mum. Less I forget, the issue of Ayo's marriage is still pending o" she said, sticking her tongue out like a naughty young schoolgirl. If Ayo was here with her, he could have strangle her at the mention of that.

Yemisi's heart skipped a beat as she remembered what she's about to tell her. She seriously needs Ayoola and Temmie's support to make this arranged marriage successful.

"I've gotten a lasting solution to that already." She said slowly, imagining Ayoola's outburst when she'll finally reveal her plan.

"And what's that if I may ask?" An impatient Ayoola asked, pulling the car to the garage.

Angela, along with her younger brother ran from the house, yelling "Mummy!" continuously.

She came out of the car and placed her index finger gently on her lips for them to go mute. They stared at her in confusion after they obeyed. Her expensive heels cocked the ground aggressively as she led the children into the house.

"Is that Angela and Hope, ahhhh! Let me speak with my children" Yemisi requested, trying to calm the tension that was building inside her daughter.

"Mum, you have all day to talk to them, but first tell me about your 'lasting solution' " Ayoola was fast loosing her patience.

"Okay, fine! I really need your support to this, you know Ayo is a stubborn child, he wouldn't listen..."

"So..." She cut her mother off.

"Chill, I want to get Ayo married to a young girl I really like. She's a good girl. You'll see her this December. I bet..."

"Don't try it! Mum I repeat, don't go to bed and dream of doing that!" She warned. That wasn't loud though, but the tension and caution was greatly built.

She slumped on one of the cozy chairs and took a huge breath as her gaze darted to her husband, who was sitting opposite to her, with his face buried in the magazine he was reading.

She unbuckled her heels and motioned for the maid to take it. Her husband opened his mouth to dash out a greeting but he was cut off with a wave; indicating she doesn't wants to be interrupted.

Femi threw her a hateful glance but she was just too busy to notice. This was just the problem; her mum. If she knew she really love her mother than him, why did she accept the proposal to be his wife initially. This was not their plan.

He hissed and left the sitting room, dragging his leg to alert that he's angrily leaving the room. But all he got was a total snub. She didn't even notice that someone was leaving the sitting room.

"I really want to do this Ayoola. Besides, I've presented the proposal to the girl and she have accepted! How would I face her to tell her it's impossible anymore" she has been trying to convince Ayoola for a while now. She have to get her on her side to make things work.

Ayoola blew air out with her mouth forming circle shape. There's surely a way out. Ayo has a code.

"It's possible mum. Only you have to do is to listen to me, and follow my instructions. You'll get him to do it willingly." Ayoola replied with an air of confidence.

"I'll listen. What's that?" Yemisi asked eagerly.

"Fine! Firstly you'll spill the news to him with courage, with this African's mother's authority. He'll protest and turn it down bluntly afterwards, don't be intimidated and don't beg him. Just make-up a pity voice and hang up. He'll definitely call back and his response will be 'Yes' "

Yemisi was surprised at her daughter's air of confidence. Will that work? How can a person know so much about another person like this.

"Will this work?" Yemisi expressed her worries.

"Yes, if you follow my advice" she replied.

"Now let me speak with my children" Yemisi said. It was more of like she wanted to celebrate the victory by speaking to her grandchildren.

"You can't believe that people kept disturbing my social media handles, asking me why I just went cold these days. And I was just like, can't I decide to take a break from this paparazzi for a while..."

Little did Fana knew that the person she was talking to was in a deep thought.

"Ayo!" She frowned, folding her arms together in protest.

"Huh!" He looked up to see an annoyed Fana. He was still thinking about what his mum might have to say. She just told him to call her in a hour or two. She sounds frightened, but she refused to open up.

He couldn't wait for an hour to pass. He would quickly reach his mum's number and demand to know what's making his novia sound so worried like that.

She shouldn't worry at any bit now again. He's here to bear all her burden. He was just too eager. Something is fishy, his mind keep banging him.

"What was my last statement?" She pouted, but deep inside, she was just too happy to be regarded so special to spend the evening with.

"What's was my last statement" he repeated and he roared in laughter before she joined him.

"Seriously but don't tell me you weren't listening!"

Fana Adun and Ayo were laid on each other in his room, his crazily furnished master's bedroom.

It was the one and the only Fana, the hottie model. Her body screamed for respect. She's Ayo's favourite baby mama. Her glowing skin is well maintained with all sorts of creams and ointments. Her back was something that attracted Ayo initially. He 'likes' her a lot. He just got her signed few months ago as his new baby mama.

Fana couldn't wait to have his first baby. She would shut those hoes down. And most importantly, she'd be the most woman precious in his life.

Recent disagreements on social media with her other rivals have gone so viral within a couple of days with those bloody bloggers. She quickly imagined herself carrying his first child, some bitches would go and commit suicide without hesitation.

He would treat her with outmost care and love. She can't just wait. And things like that don't come like magic, she would make moves.

She adjusted herself and her long fixed and coloured nails curled up to his thighs.

Ayo's body trembled at the sudden touch. He quickly stopped those fingers from unbuckling his belt.

"Some other time Fana, not now" he said rolling his eyes in boredom.

This was the normal routine almost everyday with no emotions attached.

He signed his old baby mamas two years back. Nothing happened though. Not even a miscarriage. A bitter and jealous artist have once mocked him saying was he not tired of disturbing his baby mamas with ordinary water.

He never allowed things to get to him anyway, he was already built to be strong by one of the strongest women on earth.

"Why not now? Are you going out?" Fana asked with eagerness, with her hands still parabulating his belt buckle.

"No Fana, I'm not just in the mood" he said, gently pushing her from him so that he can sleep.

He was already hard. But he needs to restrain himself. Everything must learn to take a break.

Fana didn't relent, rather, she kept on making him horny, no man would ever resist her body and moves. Not even him.

''''''''''

Three hours later.

Ayo tried to roll from the other side of the bed when his eyes clicked open. He faintly stared at the wall clock and the greatest shock of his life welcomed him when he discovered he was three hours late for his mother's call.

Fana was still deep asleep when he woke up.

"Bitch!" He hissed as he reached for his phone. He dialed his mum's number and started dressing up.

His first attempt failed so he had to call back. He tried again, completely dressed.

"Hello!" An angry and impatient voice popped out from the phone.

"Hello mum"

"Where have you been?" She questioned, trying to remember Ayoola's incantations.

"I'm sorry, I was trying to compile some works together and I dropped my phone in my room." He lied.

"Ohhhh! Sorry son I hope I'm not disturbing you"

"Not at all ma"

"Ayo,..."

"Ma.."

"I want to marry a good girl from my side for you. I promise she'll make a good wife and...." Yemisi tried to explain further but Ayo cut her.

Instead of a hot reaction, he roared in laughter as if she just cracked a joke. She got frustrated and weary of how to start pleading and convincing him to listen to her.

Ayoola was right, he would refused. Yemisi noted.

She tried to convince him but he bluntly refused. Then she hanged up immediately.

He called back earlier than she expected. Yemisi's heart raced at that time.

"It's okay mum, I'll do it" he accepted without any grunt in his voice.
