Chapter Six

Yemisi took a slight gulp from her orange flavoured drink in a curved shaped glass. Her lips pressed against each other in admiration of the taste of the drink while her fingers explored her phone gently.

Her golden expensive lace shone greatly and perfected her plump body shape. With no jeweleries attached, aside from the little mini earring on her beautiful little ears.

She rested comfortably on the bear coloured arm chair when the call went through and starts to ring. Her optimistic heart raced when his old doozy voice teared the phone.

"Good morning Alhaji" she smiled and her voice testified sweetly to her face.

"Ah! Good morning Iya wa" his doozy voice lit up in recognition. Alhaji adjusted firmly on his seat to converse with an important personality.

"How're you? What about your wives and children? I hope you're all doing well?" She beamed with smiles.

"We're thanking the Almighty Allah!" He raised his head up in appreciation to the ceiling as if the caller could see him. "Yours?" He asked, slowly taking his head down back.

"They're fine as well" she replied with outmost simplicity before taking a good sigh.

"Allahuakbar!" He exclaimed in excitement before she could finish.

Aminat was the only tie that bonded them, and she should be with her at the look of things like the time of the day. The beautiful sun was burning hot aggressively at the bright afternoon. Or has she committed a crime or something else, He believed the sun was too hot for unnecessary calls.

"Is there any thing? Hope there's no problem?" He hushed in fear as if it was a secret.

"Ahhh! No no Alhaji, everything is okay. Besides I've come with a good news this time around" Yemisi's optimism perked up.

"Hmm..it's about your daughter" she continued. Nothing should be delayed I've postponed with long talks, there's much ahead.

"You know I've been with her for a few time now, and I've picked like my daughter. I'd like her to be closer now like to be a part of my family" she spilled carefully. She had dropped her drink on a nearby stood to comprehend her mind before mouthing it.

Alhaji is not a kid. He already understood beyond what she meant. He was mute for a while before talking again.

"If I can hear you and comprehend you clearly, in essence, you want to..." He phrased.

"I want to marry her for my son" she confidently revealed.

Aminat, who was behind the door carefully eavesdropping jumped in joy when Yemisi spilled the main content to her father. It was now left to hear her father's response. He respects Yemisi after all, that shouldn't be a problem.

"Hmm... That's s bit difficult Iya wa" his voice came out, disappointing the three audience with himself included.

"Why? I promised we'd take care of her" Yemisi assured with an urgent voice.

"Of course I know. But Aminat have been betrothed to my close friend since childhood..."

Aminat couldn't wait to hear the rest, it'd be nothing than maybe Yemisi would take her younger sister. Her heart raced and shattered her hopes of becoming free again. Those that mean she won't get to be with her celebrity crush again for the rest of her life.

Heavens forbid that!

It's no problem if it had been someone else other than Alhaji Mustapha, an old man in his early seventies. Who'd choose that!

She leaned against the kitchen lower cabinet and held her head tightly with her two palms and closed her eyes for her head to cool down a bit before she loose it.

Ayo sat with Phil and Ladez, one of his top music producers in the newly furnished comfortable studio. He sat lazily with his back on the bum rest chuckling lost words. His new fierce Balenciaga set of hoddie and joggers fitted him to the taste of having women daydream him on their bed with them.

They finished a job as usual. Ayo was already tired to his bones, his body screamed for a few shots and a deep sleep like the one God made Adam to sleep when he removed some of his ribs to make Eve. He had woken up as early as 3am in the morning to start working.

His left hand that was containing his phone lazily sank from the chair and dropped to the ground. He just turned off the airplane mode because of some important calls. His manager had helped him to mute a lot of notifications, yet, his hand was vibrating crazily.

There's no how he'd be free no matter how he mute notifications. Unless he mute his phone specifically. He has a mother that get worried at the slightest chance and sisters he loves more than anyone. He has a family he owes his success to, his phone can't just be muted like that.

After being through with work for the day, the three men indulged themselves in some random talks and jokes. They might say something ill about themselves or others just for fun and laugh about it.

"Tlay wetin happen na. I don't see you with benefits female friends again, I hope everything is fine or you took a break?" Ladez chuckled. While Phil bursted out in laughter, Ayo let out a tired laugh because of his hunger and weariness.

"Those babes na scam! The last one I tried told me she's a virgin but I later caught her using Dildo" Phil managed to say in between laughter.

Ayo couldn't hold it any longer, his aggressive hungry intestines choked him in laughter and fell down. He threw a something at him playfully and Phil managed to dodge his boss's chide.

"Get out! Guyyh you're a crook!" He thundered with laughter. He managed to get up and sat back.

It took him a while to get over the joke and keep a normal smiling. He had barely stopped laughing when his phone ranged again by God knows who. His private phone wasn't even resting!

He perked up when he saw the caller and turned to his pals before taking the call.

"Excuse me" he muttered softly with a simple gesture before disappearing into the next room beside the them

He bolted the door hurriedly and leaned against with a relief sigh.

"Hello ma"

"Ayo! Oko mi" his mum squealed in excitement when she heard his girlish like voice.

His mother's tone of excitement to hear from him made him blush with a little smile creeping to his lips. He slowly played with his debit card while waiting for his mum's reason for calling.

"I just wanted to check on you. And remind you of our last discussion..." She said and he imagined her smirking over the phone.

He spotted a chair three feet away from him. He dragged with his left leg and sat on it. He did that because he could sense that the talk would be getting longer and more was with it that'd consume time.

"Yes... What's with it. You promised to get back to me once you're done with everybody" he answered back with sort of a question.

"Yes. But there's a hitch in the system" she groaned.

"And what's that?" He impatiently inquired, waggling his car keys.

"Her father refused the marriage proposal" she pouted sadly.

Ayo sighed and his eyes ran through the room in intelligence.

"Chill, it's fine. Let me have his contact" he inquired.

"I'll do that right away. But wait... Ayo, he's an old man, treat him with outmost respect" she warned and he burst into a fit chuckles.

"I'll try"

It took him less than an hour to finalise things with the old man. He could not see stubbornness his mother claimed he had when he started brainwashing him with figures he never heard before. The only problem he thought he'd have with was trying to comprehend his Oyo Yoruba but money did the talking.

He rose from his seat and waved his hand in victory but it went wrong when it landed on a soft spot. He checked beside him when he saw a young girl smiling. She was in grey bum pants with a big yellow fendi top with long black braids hairstyle

His hand slapped her bum. That was wrong. His brown puppy eyes wandered about before realizing himself.

"I'm sorry please" he apologized quickly to let her know it was a mistake before it breaks blogging sites.

"It's okay, I came to take a picture of you actually" she dashed to his front and flashed her camera lights at him.

He was just looking too surprised to decline her. She came beside him and glued to him for few snaps before disappearing away from the room.

He laughed and shook his head before leaving the room. A text popped on his phone's screen; it was the old man's bank account he instructed him to send to him. He did the transaction as he strode out.

"Who's she?" He inquired from Phil immediately he saw him outside, leaning against his car. He hopped on the car's booth and awaited Phil's response.

"She's working with Ladez I guess" he said with an uncertainty frown on his face. " you like her?" He grinned at his boss.

"Eww" Ayo hissed in irritation back. "There are many of her type out there, I only like women of a kind" he said in a factual tone.

"Boss!" Phil hailed and earned a playful smack from Ayo.

"Drive me home" Ayo threw his car's keys at Phil before entering the car.
