Chapter One

He heaved a sigh of relief when he finally stopped the car. It was like he left yesterday his house. Now he came back with a strange woman believed to be his wife.

His gaze darted to Aminat who was so deep in sleep. Her long lashes laid beautiful on each other. She seemed so peaceful like a person without problems. She even didn't wake up at any point during the journey since he offended her with speed. He later resumed speeding while she was asleep.

He was so eager to get home.

Aminat felt a slight pressure followed by a tap on her upper thigh. Her eyes clicked open and stared like a lost puppy. She turned to Ayo who always had a smirk playing on his lips. Had he decided to let them spend the night in an elegant, expensive, and beautiful.

"We're home" he announced with a doozy voice.

"So fast?!"

"You were sleeping since!" He reminded her and she threw her face sideways.

When they they dropped down from the car, Aminat wanted to plead with him to let her catch every glimpse of what the building. What made her initially thought it was an hotel was the fleet of cars parked in opposite to where he parked.

Everywhere in the house deserves a pause with a devouring look. The beautiful waterfall, the exotic cars, and the breathtaking main building. There were two other buildings as well beside the main one apart from the gate man's abode.

Two house staffs jogged to them and joined Ayo at the booth.

"Welcome sir" they greeted with a charming smile. He ignored them, yawning and gestured for them to get the luggage inside. He chuckled at the thought of the sir they address him with.

He turned around and caught his wife whose attention was already stolen with the looks of the house.

"Periwinkle, follow inside and get some rest" he called to her, pointing to the two house staffs who were cycling the boxes inside.

"Are you coming not inside too?" She inquired if she'd see an excuse to stay outside for a while.

Discovering that she was reluctant to adhere to his words, he went over to her slid his arms around her waist and cycled her inside. When they reached the stairs, Aminat could hear the staffs murmuring. About the strange woman Ayo came back with from his Christmas holiday.

"Why are you guys not in your apartment if you were to be in my house this night?" He paused and the questioned the staffs. He stared to be sure it was some minutes past twelve.

"We were waiting for you to come home so to welcome you" a beautiful one that Aminat eyes first landed on. Her smile irritated her. She doesn't know why she'd smile so sweet like that to her boss.

"How did you know I was coming today?" He sneered.

"We've been waiting like this for some days now" she smiled back, visibly not shaken by his hostility.

Not in the mood for argument as he was tired to his bones, he dismissed them and continued taking the stairs with his woman.

He opened the door and Aminat was startled to her bones. It was a large insanely furnished bedroom. He walked in normally but her steps were calculative, because she was inspecting every sight.

"You'll do the staring when the day breaks. Take a shower and sleep for now" he waved at her but chuckled in mind how she'd sleep in a room she doesn't know it looks like.

He disappeared and reappeared with a towel. "That's the bathroom there" he pointed to white locked door.

When she came back from the bathroom, he handed one of his big shirts to her.

"I don't want you to stress yourself unpacking. Change into this"

He stared at her exposed thighs and felt an instant heat run through his blood. Though they've staying together a couple days back at his mother's place but she would always wake up before him, bath and get dressed before he wakes up.

She felt like timid or like hiding when she caught his eyes on her thighs. The towel was quite short. She collected the shirt and waited with hope for him to leave to dress because there was no how she'd move the towel without feeding his eyes or she'd have to go to back to the bathroom.

He walked past her to one of the drawers. She was shivering from the cold the AC was beaming. When she was about to leave for the bathroom, he left the room following a call.

She quickly changed into the shirt, sorted other things out and jumped on the bed. It was so soft, comfortable and sleep seducing. She rolled and he opened the door again and she laid still, pretending to be asleep.

He came by to see if she was comfortable before he heads out. He found her sleeping in and turn off the lights. He raised the sheets up to her shoulder level and dashed her a peck on her cheeks. She tried her best not to blush so he won't catch her.

After hearing the bolting of the door, she hurried from the sheets and danced around. She turned on the lights back and took her time to admire the room very well.

She bent down and felt the cold floor with her bare palm. The floor that looked like it was made of gold. She stared around again and her eyes caught one portrait of her husband. She paused and walked slowly to the portrait. He was looking like a god? A angel? Or crazily handsome. The background was white so was his attire, it reminded her of heaven.

She stood at the front of the portrait and traced it with her fingers. When she thought she had seen it all, her glimpse caught her favorite picture as one of the portraits in the room! She walked slowly towards the portraits with awe widening her lips.

The picture was one of her apparently his favourite too. She had no make-up on, just in a year white shirt and black jean. Her hair was was made in Egyptian braids with white beautiful beads on it. The most captivating feature of the picture was her smile. Her friends at college had always tease she has a silly smile.

But Mofe had told her it wasn't silly, it was drowsy. The type smile of that'd make a man wants to melt and fall in asleep in love. Mofe had left Lagos to look for greener pastures few months he was assaulted by her father and Azeez. Probably they'd be able to see now she was in Lagos too. She still had his contact.

She's beautiful. She reminded herself over and over again. Despite seeing all different type of beautiful women in his life, she could still recall times he refer as beautiful without makeup. That means... She's truly beautiful.

She opened the door and came out to view the downstairs of the building. She went back to their room again and jumped on the bed without turning off the lights. She loves sleeping with the lights on. Though bed was so soft and comfortable, she couldn't sleep. She was just too happy to fall asleep.

Her eyes were widely opened with her lips smiling all through. Her phone buzzed with a notification; the battery had drained. She went back to her box and stuffed the charger out. When she thrust the charger into the phone, she saw several missed calls and WhatsApp notifications.

Two missed from Azeez, four from Yemisi and one from Hassan. Azeez! What would he call for? She thought aloud. But she was never scares nor did she call back. She rather called her brother back and he picked immediately after two rings.

"You're not asleep!" She exclaimed immediately it connected with him.

"Not until you tell me where you are!" He exclaimed back. His voice was so restless. She noted.

"Calm down! I told you I was going to my husband's house today. So what do you mean by where am I?" She played around, amusedly.

"Wait... What's your husband's name?" He stunned and she chuckled again.

"Ayo"

"Ayo fucking what!"

"Ayo Fashola" she laughed and settled her legs on the bed.

"Which Ayo Fashola" his breathless voice was so amusing to Aminat.

"Same Ayo Fashola" she replied in a low voice.

"Let me tell you what I saw. Like... You know I love to check Tlay's IG stories every night.." he paused for her to confirm.

"Yes I know"

"So... I checked it some minutes ago and I saw a lady who was dressed in the same designer with him. He was recording the video himself and when the lady looked back at the camera... Aminat, if anybody can't recognize you, you know I can?" He swallowed and she burst into a fit of chuckles.

"Calm down. It's me" she tried to convince him but he laughed in disbelief.

"Are you playing pranks on me?"

"No. Why would I do that. You know I'm not into lying and all that" she laughed.

"Let's do a video call on WhatsApp" he suggested.

"Taran!" She exclaimed, followed by laugh. Hassan saw she was very happy.

"See.. see" she turned the camera around the room for an eager Hassan who was narrowing his head to have a clearer view of the room.

"Where's he?" He finally opened to talk after being dumbstruck for a while.

"He just went out.. I don't think he'd coming home till daybreak again" she sighed and Hassan covered his mouth from screaming.

"Chill out man" she laughed at her brother's outmost.

"Why did you think he followed you" she pointed out. "My husband's account was never hacked"

"You got married to Tlay" he breathed with wide eyes.

"Now go to sleep. And tell Azeez to stop calling my number" she ignored his attitude.

"He was actually surprised after the video of you went viral" he said with a sigh.

"I hope this is not a dream" he prayed.

"I've pinched myself many times. It's real baby boy" she laughed again.

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier!" He protested.

"Go to bed" she said and hung up.

Her brother was just a movie on his own.

She plugged her phone back and buried herself under the sheets. She didn't want to log in fully to any of the social medias to answer questions. She could finally closed her eyes.
