Chapter 12_ , Someone is waiting for you

"It looks like his maid has already prepared breakfast," Laura said to herself when she saw the food on the table.

She heard some noise in the kitchen and she decided to take a look.

"Maybe she is not done yet. Let me help her out " Laura said walking towards the kitchen.

She was shocked when she saw who was in the kitchen.

"Mi... Mr. Hughes?"

"Yes," Jason answer turning around.

"Oh my gosh. How can someone be this handsome wearing an apron? I don't know if seeing him wearing regular clothes makes him more charming" Laura thought to herself.

"Why are you just standing there looking at me?" Jason asked her.

"No I wasn't," Laura said walking out of the kitchen.

Jason followed her out.

"Where are you going to?" Jason asked as he Saw her walking back to her room.

"Uhh?" Laura was confused.

"Are you eating or not?" Jason asked her.

"I know you haven't eaten all day. So sit down here and eat"

"Okay," Laura sat down quietly across from him.

Laura was surprised when she tested the food.

"Did you prepare this?" Laura was forced to ask.

Jason looked around them before answering her.

"Did you see any other person around here?"

"No I thought maybe it was your house help" Laura replied him.

"She only comes on weekends".

"So he knows how to cook that's great," Laura thought to herself while eating her food.

Jason suddenly dropped his spoon on the table. Laura looked up at him wondering why he acted that way.

"Do you want me to eat the food or stare at your boobs instead?" Jason said looking at her.

Laura choked on her food.

"This man how can he say that with a straight face," Laura thought to herself. After getting water to drink

"Are you covering yourself up or not?" Jason asked her.

Laura was confused but then she followed the direction in which he was looking. When she looked at herself she saw that her nightgown lace was loose exposing part of her breast. She immediately covered herself up before standing up.

"I'm going to bed now goodnight" she rushed out. But then she heard Jason's voice.

"I need those files on my desk first thing tomorrow morning," Jason said smiling to himself before eating.

"Oh my goodness that was so embarrassing," Laura said to herself when she closed the door to her room.

"How I'm I going to face him tomorrow? He might be thinking that I was trying to seduce him. Did I? Wait, was I? Why did I even put on this nightwear, Laura you need to remember that you're living in someone else's house" Laura kept mumbling to herself.

Jason went back to his room smiling to himself.

"Why I'm I smiling" Jason wondered.

"Maybe because her reaction was somehow cute," he said to himself picking up his phone.

"Are you free tomorrow? He said to the phone on the phone. " okay, let's have lunch together tomorrow" Jason ended the call before the other person replied.

"You need to explain yourself," Kate said to Laura the moment she walked into the office.

"Explained what?" Laura was confused.

"How come you came in with Mr Hughes?" Kate questions her.

"Can we talk about that later?" Laura was tired. She was up all through the night working.

"No, we are talking about it now. What are you hiding from me uhh? Tell me "Kate was suspicious.

They both were interrupted by Jane who walked in feeling like she is above everyone.

"Why do I hate her so much?" Kate said crunching her fist.

"Look, I don't mind if you and Jason are dating, I just want you to put that brat where she belongs, " Kate said glaring at Jane.

"We are not dating, " Laura told her.

"Please stop lying. You were with him all through the other day" Kate said smiling at Laura.

"Can you stop smiling? It's making me uncomfortable" Laura said parking up her stuff.

"Why? Is it because I'm right?" Kate said with an even bigger smile.

"I don't have your time right now," Laura said before rushing to Jason's office.

"What were the both of you smiling about?" Jane asked Kate.

"I don't know maybe the beginning of your downfall," Kate said walking away from her.

"Don't worry I will show you your place once I become Mrs Hughes " Jane said.

"How? By trying so hard to throw yourself at someone who doesn't even know your name or looked at you?" Kate mocked her.

"Don't worry you will see" Jane before walking back to her desk.

"Here are the files sir," Laura said dropping the files on the desk.

"Are you sure you crossed check everything?"

"Yes I did sir" Laura replied.

"Did you call scarlet beauty to know about their arrangements?" Jason said lifting his eyes to look at her.

"Yes, I did sir".

"What was their response," Jason asked her.

"They want to have a meeting with you tomorrow at the new life restaurant sir " Laura replied keeping all her response Short.

"Okay," Jason replied when the door suddenly opened and Nathan walks in.

"What are you doing here? Jason asked him.

"You called me remember?"

"Yes, but I thought I told you we'll meet by lunchtime," Jason asked him.

"Well, I decided to come early. You must be Laura the new secretary" Nathan said taking Laura's hand.

Laura was surprised.

"How did he know my name," Laura thought to herself.

"Don't be scared I'm Nathan, Jason's friend" he introduced himself.

"Oh," Laura was surprised. "How can they be friends? Their personalities are very different" she thought.

"Wow, I didn't know you were this beautiful. Please can I have your number?" Nathan said without beating around the bush.

"I think she has work to do," Jason said glaring at Nathan" You can leave now," Jason said to her.

"Chilled man, I just want to go out with her not kill her," Nathan said after Laura left.

"I'm done let's go," Jason said picking up his suit.

"Okay if you say so" Nathan followed him out.

When Laura got back to her station she saw that the atmosphere was off. That was when Kate ran up to her.

"Laura, someone is waiting for you," Kate said

Pulling her by the hand.

"But I'm not expecting anyone," Laura said to her.

When Laura looked at the side she saw a woman in her middle aged well dressed sitting down. Laura wondered where she has seen that face.

" Oh my God Mrs Hughes what are you doing here?" Laura was surprised.

"I came to see you," Mrs Hughes said.

"Me? Why"

"I want to eat out with you. Oh my goodness" Mrs Hughes said looking at Laura's body. I think you look more beautiful wearing my son's clothes. I couldn't take my eyes off you that day".

Everyone was shocked by what she said.

"Is she being serious? How can she say that in front of other people," Laura was beyond surprised. " now I know whom he took after" Laura thought to herself.

"But I have work to do," Laura said politely to her.

"You don't have to worry about that I will handle everything".

"But.."

"No need to worry ma'am she's coming with you," Kate said handing Laura's bag to her.

"What are you doing?" Laura whispers to her.

"Helping you. I will kill you if you messed it up" Kate said back to her before pushing her outside.

"Is Laura going out with Mr Hughes?" Kelvin asked.

"She's not his type " Jane scoffed.

"I think she is because she came in with his car this morning," Kate said before sitting down.

"What..?" They all echo.
