When it happened

It all happed when I was 9 years old there was a shaking of the ground and I remember I was confused and scared. I remember my mom holding me and telling me it was ok its just an earth quake. Then I heard my dad say "but Arizona never has earthquakes do they? If they do they aren't this bad." just then I heard a load noise from the garage. Now that I think about it, it didn't sound like it just broke or something it sounded like something tore threw it. My dad went to go see the damage and that was the last i saw of him as i heard him say something along the line of "what da.. oh shii." then I heard a loud roar my mom got up fast and put me in the closet and told me to be quiet when she grabbed the shotgun. 

She went to investigate and I heard her scream and yell damn you, you stupid lion where did you come from?! as I heard the shotgun go off. She then came back in side and got me, and went upstairs. I remember asking my mom where dad was and what she saw out there was it really a lion? As i finished that sentence i looked through the window to the street and saw a bunch of lions coming toward the house. 

ummm.. mom look out side and she looked and cursed under her breath what the fuck.. Hurry up my mom said. She grabbed the ammo box full of shotgun shell from behind the dresser and said not to come out of the door ever unless if she says so. I was in shock from this your not going to stay here?? no, if they come in I wont be able to protect you and shoot that's why if i don't make it and they come threw use your dads shotgun on the lion that comes through. What but.. i tried to say before i was cut off.

LISTEN!!.. I am sorry but don't come out ok? promise mommy okay. 

"Ok mom", as i hugged her close. I love you.

I love you too i have to go i can hear them in the house.

After what felt like hours of her screaming and load bangs I heard scratching out side my door the scratches where heavy but weak against the door. I very lowly said "mom?" at that the scratching fastened and a pained voice from the other side of the door was made. I then asked just to be sure it was her i asked her to scratch the door 2 times then wait 2 seconds then scratch the door 3 times really fast this happened.

scratch scratch.. ScracthScratchScartch i was happy and yelled "Mom Your Okay" and ran up to the door.

I opened it and to my horror laid "something that was injured but it wasn't my mom" 

It was a lion that was missing part of its face and it jumped on me. 

i screamed the loudest i ever had and tried to scramble away it seemed to be the only one left so i just had to get rid of this one and then i could go find my mom. It hurt having a lion trying to bite me with it missing jaw and having its heavy body on top of me i don't think lions are normally this big its like 3 times the size. I couldn't move and the shotgun was on the bed. it hurt but i pulled my self out from the lion with it not reacting much must me from the loss of blood. The sharp nails scratched me but i got up and grabbed the shotgun and brought it close to the lions head and pulled the trigger.

"BANG" ringgggggg

i couldn't hear anything my ears where ringing i was dizzy and my shoulder hurt my 9 year old body just shot a 12 gauge shotgun for the first time i then passed out to then have someone waking me up.

Earlier the Awakened neighbor: i think there are no more lions i cant believe this is really happening purple gates with mutated animals coming out of them? And powers to fight them? This lighting skill will come in handy. BANG what was that it sounded like i came from inside a house? look! someone said as they pointed to a garage that had a huge hole in it. What the what made that? hurry there might be someone in trouble go save them you have powers right. oh ya your right as i ran to the house.

I was getting woken up and asked what happened? in a dazed voice well from the look of things it looks like you killed the boss of the gate/dungeons thing or what ever it is. as he was helping me up i remembered something, my mom!! Your mom what, when i got up i started yelling Momm.. Momm where are you are you okay!! just to find her in the living room next to the closet looking dead. MOMM!! i ran to her hugging her mom please wake up your ok right your just sleeping right right??!? hey kid i think she might. as the guy who woke me up was saying that i felt her breath on top of my head. Mom you are ok! i felt her breathing on top of my head the guy came over and put his hand on her neck and checked her pulse i later found out what he was doing and i heard a siren and the man ran out and said right here!
