Chapter 29
She runs off with Griff as I watch the males in the room talk to one other before one of them makes a call; glancing at Silvia to see her also confused so we wait- after about a minute, the guy comes back and he stares at us, raising an eyebrow. It gets him to talk.
"We call the queen since you won't listen to my king.", they say.
"Whatever makes you happy.", I say with a shrug.
I can hear all of them hissing at me but I honestly could not care less so putting my eyes on my daughter, as she laughs while riding Griff, smiling until I smelt something familiar- whipping my head towards the smell, I see someone who looks somewhat like me; continuing to stare at them while they do the same until someone clears their throat.
"Well, this is the person we were talking about, Lady Phoenix.", the same guy from before.
"Thank you.", she says before turning her attention towards me; "Miss Phoenix, I am the queen and my lover is the king. It's a disappointment when a family member isn't listening to my lover.", she says.
"Mhm, you don't say. Well, I would listen if he was the actual king.", I say with a smirk.
"Look here-"
"No, I'm getting really annoyed with the same conversations so I'm going to make this very clear. Either of you is the ruler of Hybrida-Moon's kingdom because you aren't their daughter.", I state.
She growls at me before charging at me but an ice barrier was put in place. Reda Bahar comes in, glaring at her. Confused, but not wanting to show it, I watched.
"Look, I'm your great-great-great-grandmother, so I know more than you. Raina is correct, you or your love isn't the ruler because you aren't the daughter of the Hybrida-Moon family.", she tells her.
"So, there's no living relative to take the spot.", she growled.
"Yet, there is.", Reda answers.
"What!", someone yells.
"Raina has told you before who the daughter of the Hybrida-Moon family is.", she states rather boredly.
"Where's the proof?", someone yells out.
"Jess, can you come here?", I asked.
Right after I ask, Griff brings her down, but she stays on his back before giving me her attention, smiling at her, which gives me a confused smile, but she gives me a smile.
"Can you tell everyone what your creature is?", I ask, making sure not to say, creatures.
"I'm a vampire angel.", she says proudly.
Staring at them as they all show that they really thought I was lying, which annoyed me but not wanting Jess to be here, I nod my head to her question that was unasked- turning my attention to everyone else; I see I guess my sister, glaring at me. Already knowing why she was doing it in the first place, I cross my arms to show that I'm on to her. Taking a quick glance around, I don't see Walter or Hunter, but then they were back with their children.
"Raina, our people have come to us asking if they can have a safe ground to raise their young.", Walter says.
"Is there an area you guys want?", I asked without hesitation.
"The mountainside with the Griffins.", Hunter answers.
"I'll get right on it. Who would sign?", I say, then ask.
"Both Walter and I.", Hunter answers again.
"Alright, can I have a day to get the paper all set?", I asked.
They nod their heads before disappearing with their children, making a mental note of what I needed before linking Griff.
"Griff, do you think you could take Jess with you to see your kind and ask if it's okay for the shadow beings to live in the mountains with them?", I asked.
"Sure, I'll let them know.", he says.
"Oh, can you tell Jess what's going on.", I say.
Watching them fly away, when someone's voice, "How are you going to do that? Griffins live in the mountains."
"I already sent Griff to ask his kind if it would be already for the shadow beings to live with them.", I answered.
"Who's Griff?", a guy asks.
"The griffin that Jess was on.", I state.
"You have a connection with a griffin!", my sister yells.
"Yes, now keep your voice low.", I growled.
"How are you friendly with shadow beings, let alone griffins?", she growls out.
"I have a connection with Griff because of Jess and I'm friendly with the shadow beings because they have done nothing wrong to me.", I answered honestly.
"It attacked me!", a guy yells.
"Was it an adult or a child?", I ask.
"How are we supposed to know the difference?", my sister asks.
"There's a height difference! And besides, shouldn't you know!", I growled then continued, "To be ruler, you must know the difference between each species. Each species is an enemy, so when that is said enemy hurts their kind they get defensive about others.", I state.
"That doesn't-"
"They have no problem but they want to know how many of them have children or are planning to have children.", Griff explains.
"Would it be safe to send Walter and Hunter?", I asked.
"Yeah, just-"
"One sec, I think they just popped up.", I interrupted him.
"Walter, are you and Hunter busy?", I asked.
"No, why?", he asks.
"I just asked Griff if it was safe for you and Hunter to take you to the griffins to figure out a living arrangement.", I answered.
"We'll get right on it. Do you mind if Griff and Jess stay just in case?", he asks.
"I'll let him know.", I say with a smile.
"Mind stay so Walter and Hunter feel a little at ease there?", I asked.
"We don't mind.", Jess answers.
"Thanks, sorry you have to be away from mama, Jess.", I said.
"If it's helping mama, I don't mind.", she says happily.
Smiling, I turn my attention back to them- realizing that Silvia and Reda are having a serpent conversation with the rest of us; when I want to say something, they both stop talking before facing me.
"We come up with an idea-"
"Since you have a list and you're already friends with Griffins and shadow beings-"
"We thought it would be a good idea for you to be queen until Jess becomes of age.", they say.
"I'm okay with that as long as the other creatures are too.", I state.
