Parting Ways

Deep in a military complex located somewhere in the western mountains of what was once the proud nation of Liberion, Year 2020, sirens blare throughout, the facility shaking and lights flickering in the corridor. Two individuals Can be seen running deeper into the facility. "Hurry Victoria! The final defenses of this outpost have just about been breached, we need to get to the lab and execute command's orders to complete the project!" Huffs a strong short hair ginger Karlslander with a valorously decorated uniform alongside her partner running down a long corridor.

The facility shakes violently once again and both lose balance for briefly before continuing forward. Her partner, a dark haired Liberion with blue eyes a bit taller than her Karlslander counterpart shakily responds: "sounds like the Neuroi are in the facility now, but that's ok we're almost there Lenna." Lenna Replies: "Together we'll see this project through... for the sake of humanity!"

The pair burst into a large room with a disk on the floor surrounded by pillars. In the center of the disk are crates of equipment and 2 striker units. A Lodheer F-22 and a Lodheer F-35A Striker Unit. Above it on the back wall is the seal for the 82nd Airborne Witches. Victoria Comments after looking up to see the seal "All the friends and fellow witches we've lost..." She goes quiet. Lenna attempts to console her "You and I may be the last two witches out here, but this project will hopefully change that"

Victoria nods then they both look to their right. A station with a few brave scientists is on standby. Lenna Shouts to the Scientists, "We're Ready! Prepare the system for activation!" They begin to walk onto the platform when suddenly a Neuroi beam tears through the room partially destroying the control station killing all the scientists with it sending burning shrapnel towards the two witches. Victoria was too slow to move out of the way, but suddenly Lenna jumps in front of her.

The F-35A striker unit beside them is destroyed and Victoria looks down "LENNA!" She screams. She helps her friend up. Lenna is weak but able to communicate and somewhat move on her own. Due to the adrenaline flowing through her Lenna didn't notice the piece of shrapnel lodged in her own abdomen. Disregarding her wounds, she makes her way to the secondary control panel on the side of the platform.

Lenna then says to Victoria "Continue the mission." She hands Victoria a sealed envelope and continues; "Say "Hi" to my great grandmother for me" Victoria Objects, sobbing, "I can't leave you! We were supposed to do this together!" Lenna gets up off of the console she was propping herself up on and goes to Victoria and says "Alright we'll do it together."

Suddenly Lenna shoves Victoria into the remaining striker unit and quickly hits the switch on the panel. From outside the force field of the device she weakly smiles leaning on the control panel "Be strong for me Victoria."

Before Victoria could attempt to get up, everything on the platform along with Victoria warped away. Lenna slides down the panel facing the entrance of the room.

Facing the Neuroi standing in the doorway, she draws her pistol. she coughs up a bit of blood and collapses mumbling; "I'm sorry it had to be like this Vikki, but I knew this would come… You got this…" her eyes close and the room fills with a piercing red light.
