Staring

"Well, the interior isn't as filthy as I expected, you people know how to use a broom, impressive coming from people who hides in caves and plot against the least threatening place around" spoke the butler 'politely' as he entered a room with a large table and multiple sitting around it.

"Who the hell a-" tried asking a man that was standing guard next to the door but was interrupted by an ailment commonly know has death when his neck was snapped with slap.

"Now that this is done, I couldn't help but notice that you people are surveilling the inside of a nearby building commonly refered to as the 'greatest academy in the country' and I have come here to express my displeasure with that as wall as my joy about what you will do for me next" talked the butler, closing the door and locking it using the very obvious lock that should have been latched on since the start.

He had absolutely taken the attention of everyone in the room and they had entered a sort dazed state for a bit, unable to comprehend what was happening for a while.

When they finally broke out of their pitiful state, the one at the end opposite to where Kathikon was standing slammed her hands on the table and asked a common but meaningless question.

"How did you find this place?!" she asked, wildly swing one of her hands in chopping motion to the side, almost striking someone in the face.

The butler looked at her, like someone would look at a puppy after they shat on the carpet for a while before deliberately sighing loudly.

"It should be obvious when your surveillance method are so visible" spoke the servant, kicking someone of their chair and taking it for himself as he sat opposite to the woman, the other just looked around in confusion and fear, unable to decide their next course of action.

"We use trained common flies that are linked to someone with a special skill, that is not visible at all!" she responded, clearly offended at having her method criticised, more offended than by the fact that he had turned someone's head ninety degrees one minute ago.

"False, everyone see these flies everyday, its obvious to anyone that they don't fly like normal flies and also, the skill is very easy to track down, I just did" responded the butler.

"So anyways, if you listened to what I said about thirty seconds ago and didn't forget, I have some plans for you sorry lot, I am going to need you to launch an attack on the academy, in about, one day or more accurately, fourteen hours" he said, checking a pocket watch that he pulled out of his sleeve.

"You think I'll follow your orders? Fuck you! You don't scare me!" responded the woman across the table, a sentiment not shared by her compatriots.

"I was not asking" simply answered the butler as the room was suddenly covered in darkness, it wasn't actual darkness or shadows, something that felt slightly squishy and wet had covered the room, wrapping around everyone in the room and holding them in place.

The butler stood up, his eyes still empty, however a small smile had appeared on his face, it was not creepy in itself but considering the situation, this warm, doting, kind and reassuring smile was probably the scariest smile he could have been doing.

"Stare upon me" he announced before putting his hand over one of the person's face and suddenly, they started screaming as if they were being eviscerated alive, they mumbled incomprehensible nonsense and when Kathikon removed his hand, it seemed as if the person had died in soul but not in flesh, leaving only an empty husk behind.

He repeated this action for everyone present until it was the turn for the one that seemed to be their leader, the woman who claimed to not be afraid of him.

"You say that you are not fearful of me, that may be right but that is only because you do not know fear, let me elaborate" he spoke, his smile still present and his tone flat as he covered her face with one of his hands.

Just like the other, she emerged looking like corpse devoid of any mind.

The dark thing that covered the room suddenly vanished and they were all freed, however none of them moved, they were so paralysed with fear that they weren't even trembling at all, they were truly frozen, the sound of their breathing seemed nonexistent.

"Now that you saw me, you will do exactly as I intend you to, right?" asked the butler as he walked around the table, circling around them all.

They didn't answer with words and instead weakly nodded.

"You certainly understood what I told you in every details?" he asked another question and got the same answer.

The butler summoned his book, it flipped to a certain page and something only he could see happened in front of his eyes.

"Perfect, then enjoy your limited time" he said before walking out of the room, phasing though the door, leaving the empty husks of the people behind, after a while of staring emptily at what was in front of them, they stood up and went on with what they had to do.

Just like that, Kathikon had been able to set up a good learning experience for the miss, such practices were common among his lineage, it is through adversity that one learns better, creating a true sense of danger and urgency was key and it would serve has a great experience for the miss to learn that anything, at anytime, anywhere could go wrong or something unexpected could happen.

Of course, he had and would make sure that nothing happens to his master that could leave a bad impact, however the notion of bad impact to the butler was convoluted and hardly understandable by anyone else.

He was back in front of his master's room in no time and guarded it for the rest of the night, he wrote unknown words inside of his books during that time.
