Vampire Vegan (499 words)

My consciousness was blurry and at times I felt like I was more asleep than awake, each thought I formed soon sunk deep into the fog of my subconsciousness where some of them slumber till today.

I lived in a daze for an unknown amount of time with rare instances of lucidity in between.

One of these moments was caused by a strange, metallic taste in my mouth.

I remember that I was desperately trying to grasp the origin of that familiar taste.

After a long time trying to excavate hazy memories, I finally found what I searched for.

Blood.

The taste in my mouth was that of blood.

This realization shook me awake enough to question myself as to why I know how blood tastes, but the answer was nothing special, most people have at least once tasted their own blood, be it because you put a bleeding finger into your mouth as a child or accidently bite your tongue.

Next up I started to gage at the thought of having just eaten or drunk the blood of someone else.

I can still remember the horror and disgust that I felt a that time and from there on I swore to myself to never drink the blood of someone else again.

Not long after I once again entered a daze filled with blurry images, strange smells, and clogged sounds.

But even when back in this state of half-conscious I still refused to drink any of the offered blood.

This seems to have worsened my condition and gave birth to a chore of twisted voices which are talking in the back of my mind in a language that I couldn't comprehend.

Time passes cruelly slow and what should have been mere days felt like years of torture, the chore of voices has risen in intensity and started to accompany every thought I formed.

Then finally another moment of lucidity came, caused by the presence of giant hand, with black painted fingernails and smooth, spotless white skin.

The presence of the giant hand calmed the maddening voices in the back of my head and scatters large amounts of the fog which blocked my mind.

Without even attempting to resist I let the sleek fingers with black nails careful warp around me and carry me out of a room which I was unable to see in its full form because of my poor eyesight.

I could just barely make out the blurry silhouette of whoever the spotless white hand with black fingernails belonged to.

After a short observation I came to the realization that the silhouette looked very humanlike, even feminine in its nature.

Combined with the way she moved and the crimson color around her figure I came to the conclusion that this should be a woman wearing a crimson dress.

The thought of another human excited me for some reason, but the excitement disappeared not long after when I remembered that this woman was carrying me in her hand.
