chapter 13 unexpected wedding

In Indian culture the groom fills the hair partition of the bride with red vermillion ,it's an important ritual in marriage. Darsh performed the same act with sanjana and now they were considered as a married couple .

The relatives of the chauhan family who were present there to attend the engagement of sanjana were gasped in shock .

Sanjana was in a state of shock , as she doesnt know this stranger who helped her, not even his name and now she is considered as married to him .

After this act of darsh ,the whole chauhan family was shocked to core,Nandini was fuming with anger, as the whole planning of getting sanjana married to his nephew is in vain now ,but she kept her calm to show the family that she is too worried about the situation. Mrs. Dhani Chauhan always has so many dreams about Sanjana's marriage but now everything looks ruined.

"Not so soon young man ,you have to finish what you have started.

Panditji (priest) gets them married with all the proper rituals ``.Mr parmesh chauhan declared, making everyone shocked .dhani chauhan was the most shocked one as she doesnt know what her husband is willing to do now ..

Listening to his father's words Narendra was beyond angry he tried "do you even know what you are talking dad? .we even don't know anything about this man .what if he is using this situation of sanjana to get a claim in our property "

Darsh was stunned by listening to this, then he thought that the whole wealth which this chauhan family has is not even one percent of singhania empire .Let they assume as per their convenience ,they will get to know the truth later.

So he stated " Don't worry about your money,I can very well take care of my wife's necessities. I assure you that me and my wife don't need or want a penny from you ".

This made Narendra 's family relieved,and nandini was beyond happy as she doesnt have to share the property with sanjana anymore . Then Mr. Parmesh chauhan went to her wife and told her with a painful expression "Dhani you always blamed me for your broken dreams by not doing our duties in naira's wedding.So today i am going to fulfil your wish ,do whatever custom do you want for this ungrateful granddaughter of yours. "

" I don't need any permission to do this parmesh ,not even from you.

Once I promised sanjana now i am going to fulfil my promise .,

whether someone likes it or not .I don't care ".Mrs dhani chauhan first time in her

life she argued with her husband .She has always fulfilled his husband's wishes as her duty ,but now she has to make a stand for her granddaughter. She made some of her relatives to arrange for some necessary things for the marriage ceremony.

After fifteen minutes the arrangement was done ,she make sanjana sit

on a small stool .Then she took a plate which has chuda placed in it .Its a custom in their family that maternal uncle brings chuda ( red bangles) and uncle and aunty make the bride wear that .Actually it was a custom which held day before or on the day of marriage with proper rituals. But in this situation she just want to complete this process at least for her daughter naira's sake

Mrs dhani chauhan ordered Narendra and nandini to perform the ritual ,but narendra denied her .

" Complete it Narendra as my last wish" dhani declared, making everyone shocked.

Narendra and nandini make sanjana wear the chuda bangles .Dhani made sanjana close her eyes as it's the tradition in chuda ceremony that the bride should not see it while wearing it . Sanjana just followed her wish and closed her eyes. Nandini made her wear the chuda bangles which were in red and white colour one by one in her hands .

At that moment sunita and kritika entered the temple carrying gifts for sanjana's engagement, they were shocked to see the scene. But one stern look from Mr Chauhan stops them to ask ,as they are already late for the function. Actually they got stuck in between their way to the temple because their car got punctured.Sanjana 's nani called them to help her for the next arrangements. So they moved towards the couple ,pandit ji gave a chunri which covered sanjana's forehead as veil and a stole to darsh which he kept on his shoulder .The kanyadaan was done by sanjana's nana nani .,than sunita tied the ends of chunri and stole which is called gathbandhan .priest make them stand for pheras darsh held sanjana's hand with a firm igrip

They started taking rounds around the sacred fire ( agni kund), The seven vows consist of seven vows which are chanted by the priest to make the marriage a strong bond between the couple .

sanjana was performing all the rituals in the lost state

.After taking vows and seven rounds called phera darsh again filled sanjana's hair partition with vermillion using coin.priest told darsh to tie nuptial chain .

In the rush of events Mrs Chauhan forgot about arranging the nuptial chain .So the priest gave darsh the artificial nuptial chain which is offered to the goddess by devotees. Darsh tied that nuptial chain ,but seeing this nandini smiled in a sarcastic way.

She was feeling very content with Sanjana's condition. This smile got noticed by darsh ,he quickly open the hook of his heavy gold chain which has diamond pendant of alphabet 'D' and make sanjana wear that also .After doing this darsh had a eyelock with nandini while raising his one eyebrow .Nandini got the signal and she avoided to look at the couple.

At last the priest declared them husband and wife .Darsh turned to face sanjana.. he looked at the girl who is his wife now she was wearing the sindoor ( vermillion) in her hair partition and nuptial chain in her neck of his name .

" I am going to bring my car near the entrance .finish the remaining rituals .Make it fast,i am waiting in the car "

Darsh marched out of the temple without giving a glance to the people present around them .It is when everyone noticed the condition of sanjana .That poor girl was just behaving like a dead corpse, her eyes are blank without any emotion.It seemed to be like she was in some sort of trance .Mrs dhani chauhan got scared by looking her condition ,she was sure that if the trance of sanjana continue she will definitely suffer from nervous breakdown. And it will not be good for her health and future life.So she tried to shake her,call her name but Sanjana never replied. She was behaving like a stone statue. It was like a storm had hitted her life and changed everything for her

An elderly lady ,aunt to parmesh chauhan understood the situation of sanjana. She ordered the ladies to

Sing the vidai geet ( a folk song sung on the occasion of a bride's farewell from her maternal home in marriage ).The present ladies got the signal as they were also feeling sad for sanjana.

Sanjana blinked her eyes listening to these lines ,she looked over at the ladies who were singing this with tears in their eyes .She touched her hair partition ,then her hands moved to her neck to touch the nuptial chain .,than realisation hit her ....it was already done .she is married now .

Sanjana thought about how unfortunate she is ,who has never seen her parents ,never able to touch them.the only thing she had was their photos .

A thought about the family who never accepted her like a member .Except nani all of them treated her like a burden .Finally they are getting rid of her.

She remembers all the times when her so-called cousins brothers refused to acknowledge her presence only .

Thinking about the love and care her nani has given to her ,tears started flowing from her eyes .Sanjana cried miserably like all the pain she was having was flowing out from her eyes in the form of tears

Kritika and sunita hugged her to calm her down, after sometime sanjana composeď herself and went to her nana nani ,she touched their feet for blessings .Surprisingly Mr parmesh chauhan kept his hand on her head lovingly than dhani chauhan blessed her with all her life. The other members showed her their palm to stop when she turned to walk to them for blessings.

Then they all exit the temple when she reached the main gate of temple .sunita forwarded a plate full of rice grains before sanjana,she throwed the rice from her palms ,above her head.mrs dhani chauhan spread her palla ( saree end material )to catch the rice .then she faced sanjana and cried hard .sanjana couldn't control any more she cried hard hugging her .sanjana was hugging her nani in tight grip ,sunita had to pull sanjana towards her so that she can leave with darsh now .Who was keenly watching this scene ,standing besides his car ., ...but ...but as soon as sanjana was pulled back by sunita, she limped in her arms ....sanjana got unconscious.
