CHAPTER 4- BE CONFIDENT

ELLICE'S POV

I looked at my phone when it rang. Nico was calling so I answered it quickly.

"Hello, hon?" I ask as I answered his call.

"Hon, I have something to tell you." he replied.

"Yes, what's that hon? Just go ahead I'll listen." I said.

"Okay, so it's Nate's birthday today." his introduction.

"Nate your cousin? Is he having a celebration? I'm sure he has that." smiling I replied.

"It's okay if you attend to it, hon." I added.

"No, hon." he replied.

I wondered why he did not agree.

"I'll let you." I said.

"I mean I'm not the only one to attend hon. The two of us. Nate invited us for his party later at their house. You've been there already haven't you?" he asked.

I thought about it and I also remembered where Nate's house was.

"Yup. I remembered that hon. I went to their house on the wedding anniversary of her mommy and daddy. Am I right?" I'm still making sure.

"Yup, you're right hon. So, get ready for later huh?" he ordered.

"Okay, all right, hon. What time is his party?" I askes him.

"8:00 pm, hon. I'll just pick you up. Just wait for me in your house, okay? I need to go back to work, we have another meeting to start with now. There are new investors in uncle David's company so there's been an urgent meeting since I entered earlier. All right, hon. See you later. Bye. I love you! " he explained.

"Okay, hon. Me, I'll be able to get back to work the next day so I'm still free until tomorrow. All right, hon. Bye. I love you too. Take care." I said.

"Okay, hon. Take care too. Bye." he answered back and then the phone call got ended.

I put down my phone first and walk heading to the mirror.

"What am I going to wear later? I'm sure there will be a lot of rich and elegant guests there at Nate's party." I said as I looked at myself in the mirror.

I looked up.

"I'm sure there are many women who will also visit and invited by him. But I don't care, I'm not nervous about them because Nico won't look at others. Hello! Not to brag but, I'm so beautiful, sexy then smart. " I was still praising myself while smiling.

I walked to my closet. Will be looking for something to wear for Nate's birthday party later.

A few more minutes passed and suddenly there was a knock in my room.

"Ellice! Ellice! Are you awake yet?" she asked aloud.

A loud voice of a woman is what I've heard.

I wondered who it was. It's Giana.

What is she doing here?

When I opened the door, Giana was already there.

"Hi!" she said.

"What are you doing here?" I asked in astonishment.

"Don't you want me here?" she asked while sitting on my bed.

I sat down next to him.

"Nope. I'm just curious about what brings you here, Giana." I replied.

"You know Diana? My cousin is coming home from Australia?" she asked.

I nodded. "Yes, I know her. What about her?"

"Uhm ... I'd like to ask you if you're free tonight? I don't have anyone to pick her up at the airport." she asked.

I couldn't answer right away. She looked at my open closet and the clothes I was holding right now.

"Oh, I got it. You have plans for tonight?" she asked again.

I just nodded again.

"I'm sorry, Giana. I can't go with you to pick up your cousin because it's Nate's birthday, Nico's cousin, you know him right?" I explained.

"By the way, may I ask why is your cousin is coming home now? Doesn't she live in Australia?" I asked in astonishment.

"She just wants to stay here with his family. Lawrence should pick him up later bacuse of his work." she replied.

"Lawrence?" I curiously asked.

"Yup, Lawrence is his brother." she answered.

"Okay. So ... sorry again, Giana. I can't go with you to pick her up. Just give me some things from Australia." I said but I was just kidding.

"Sure! What do you want? Chocolates, bags, coffee, tea etc." she replies laughing.

"Giana, there you are." said mommy when she saw Giana in my room. Giana couldn't close the door.

"Why is your closet open, Ellice. It looks so messy. Sorry for that, Giana." she added.

"Hi, Aunt Eloisa." Giana greeted her with a smile.

"Uhm, I'm just looking for my dress, mom. I'm just looking for something to wear for the birthday party later. It's Nico's cousin's birthday, Nate." I said again.

"Okay." she answered sparingly.

"I'll leave you there." she added.

"Okay, Aunt Eloisa."

"Okay, mom." Giana and I answered.

"Aunt Eloisa is really cold to you, Ellice. But, don't mind her, we're used to her." Giana said while still smiling at me.

"You're right. As you're here too Giana, will you help me find a dress that fits me for Nate's party tonight?" I ask her for help.

"Sure!" she excitedly said.

After few hours. Giana left and I just wait for Nico to pick me up here at our house.

While I sat in the living room and waited for Nico.

"Ellice don't get to drink too much tonight, it will make too embarrassing to Nico and his cousin or to his cousin's guests." said mommy.

"I know, mom." I answered calmly. Not long after, Nico arrived as well.

"Good evening, Aunt Eloisa." Nico greeted mommy.

"Good evening too, Nico. Remind Ellice not to get drink too much. Okay?" mommy reminded again.

"Okay, Aunt Eloisa. Don't worry." Nico replied.

"Let's go, hon?" he asked.

I nodded and said, "Okay, let's go, hon."

"We'll go ahead, mom." I said.

"Okay." mommy replied.

Nico and I got out and got in his car.

When we got inside, Nico stared at me in the eye.

"What's wrong, hon? Do I have dirt on my face?" I asked in astonishment.

He smiled. "No, you're just so beautiful, hon."

"Thank you, hon." I answered.

"Let's go." he said.

After a few minutes we arrived at Nate's house.

"I'm still amazed at these kinds of houses, I mean mansions." I said when I saw Nate's house.

"You'll get used to it, hon, because I'll have more plans to do for our family, of course for our children, just like having a mansion like this. " smiling he said.

"Good evening, everyone!" the emcee's greetings to all of us.

"We just arrived at the right time, hon." I said. He nodded at me and smile.

"Look, hon. A lot of people are looking at you." Nico whispered.

"So that's it, hon. Do I really look okay?" I asked him.

Because I feel that I am different from the eyes of other women here. I feel.a litte bit shy. I used to be confident but now, the world of rich people is really different, because we are just average.

"Don't worry, hon. You're so beautiful so they're looking at you." he said simultaneously hugging my waist.

"Be confident enough, you're beautiful. I know you're beautiful in their eyes, but you're more beautiful in my eyes. And that won't change." he added.

I just smiled at him again.

Nico is right. I have to be confident in myself because there is nothing wrong with what I'm wearing, and besides I'm with Nico.
