Still Guilty

Upon stepping inside Coach Ayu’s room, the first thing I noticed was her almost calm demeanor as she sat behind her table. She’s resting her chin on her intertwined fingers with her elbows placed on the table, supporting it.

Her gaze quickly focused on me, watching me take my steps and stop right in front of her table. I sat down and returned her gaze.

Just like that, we spent at least three minutes just staring at each other. She had no plans to open our conversation but she also seemed intent on keeping me here. Otherwise, she could hand me my salary and send me on my way.

That’s why I came to the conclusion that she’s waiting for me to open it. But what should I say first?

Get straight to the point or slowly push our conversation towards that topic?
