Reason

The yard was unusually calm, with only a handful of mercenaries moving about, fetching water or filling their water bags. No signs of anyone bathing could be seen, which allowed Limon to stride in with confidence.

Though they were no longer bound by human needs like food, water still held significance for the mercenaries. It wasn't out of necessity but more a matter of habit. Or was it? Limon recalled a conversation with Teresa not long ago.

"It's not a habit," she had said, matter-of-factly. "It's a choice. Experiments show that staying hydrated keeps the skin supple and prevents it from becoming rough or cracked. After all, even if we don't eat or age like humans, our bodies remain active. Hydration plays a role in maintaining that."

Limon had found her explanation amusing, marveling at how even in their state, vanity persisted. "Ah, women. Their love for beauty truly knows no bounds," he had mused silently at the time.
