Chapter 23

A few days after their latest raid, Ac was able to have the various items that Jial had requested down to him. Although they used an intermediary, Ac was sure to send one of his most trusted men to secure the Stygium crystals so that he could ensure they were returned to him.

With the materials and droids that he had requested, Jial could finally start getting to work. His plan was to use the area to the south of Wyne to not only create a droid factory but where he would build his first mining location as well as a geothermal power plant using some of the planet's numerous volcanoes.

This process was not going to be an easy one. Just building the mining facility would take a few months to get started while the factory and power plant would take even longer. But Jial was determined to get all 3 built since they were necessary for the Yautja.

With no abundant resources that they could take advantage of, their only choice was to mind for common minerals and ores to use to trade or to grow Wyne from a small town into the true capital of Lok. The scraps of materials that they had taken from the other factions were not enough to sustain them.

The droid factory was also Jial's plan to help with their trade. As long as he could reconstruct some of the older Sith droids, he would be able to make a huge profit off of those. Those funds could be used to actually sustain the economy of a planet if he was able to make the right droids.

With the Stygium extracted from the mine in the east, he had no issue sending Suxon and the men under him over toward that area to act as security and ensure that no wild animals or other factions interfered with his plans. He had actually sent an additional 150 members, making the group in the south have about 200 members protecting it along with the 20 Sentinel droids. With a force of that size, no small group would dare to go and attack them while any larger group's movement would have easily been noticed by Yautja.

During the time that the facilities were being built, Jial had ordered his forces to stay low-key. He only sent out a few fighters and speeders to scout the areas around them. If any new groups emerged to try and take the land for their own, he would send either Boxe or Sidon to eliminate them, effectively creating a large amount of no man's land around Wyne.

While they were securing Wyne's borders, it was Zilvarth who was left in charge of most day-to-day tasks. He received general orders from Jial about how he wanted Yautja to be trained and what projects he considered important but after that, he allowed Zilvarth free reign to go about those jobs as he saw fit.

Jial had two main jobs while they were waiting for the factories to be built: train the twins and design the droids.

The training of the twins was not very difficult for Jial. While both had different temperaments, they were still eager to learn from him. The pair absorbed knowledge like sponges, taking in everything that he had taught them.

Hash was going down the path of a Jedi Sentinel or Sith Inquisitor. Even though her learning speed of Force Powers was slightly lower than that of her sister's, her interest in the Force itself and how she could use it for a variety of purposes made Jial sure that she would be walking down a similar path. Her calm and steady personality also made him certain that she would walk down this path.

Nott was much different compared to her sister. She was reckless, always wanting to solve issues as fast as she could. She preferred using her two lightsabers in combat and only used the Force to supplement her skills. She would make an excellent Sith Warrior or Jedi Guardian.

No matter which path either of them was planning to walk down in the future, both of the twins preferred to use Niman of lightsaber combat. While this was known as the Moderation Form due to how little training it took to become decent at it, it was also known as the Way of the Rancor due to how powerful it was once mastered.

This fighting style was a hybrid martial art created by effectively combining elements of the preceding lightsaber forms into a single, generalized form. Niman balanced out between the various specializations of the other forms, covering many of the basic moves, but focusing on overall moderation. This resulted in a fighting style that lacked a significant advantage, but also lacked any serious drawbacks, thereby not leaving adherents as exposed as some of the more aggressive or specialized forms.

This was also the style of combat that Jial preferred to use since it encouraged the use of the Force with one's blade work, making for an extremely deadly combination if one mastered it.

When he was not training the pair, Jial was at his terminal designing their battle droid. He had many different droids to pull inspiration from based on various Sith designs. The HK model that Revan had created, the Sith Elite Warbot of old, and even the Basilisk War Droid that were initially used by the Mandalorians.

Jial took all of these designs into consideration when he was creating his own droid, taking parts from each of these other designs and adding them into a single model. Jial built several prototypes by hand, testing each of their abilities in live combat to measure how each one performed.

After his 6th redesign of the droid, Jial was finally pleased with the droid that he had created.

The droid stood at 1.9 meters tall with a humanoid body. The entire body was covered in heavy armor. On one shoulder was a mounted shield that could be used to withstand heavier attacks while its other shoulder had a pauldron with spikes on it. The droid also had a single 'eye' that acted as its visual sensor, hidden behind a thick skull. It also had several thrusters throughout its body that allowed it several short thrusts in battle, use in space, or temporary flight capabilities.

He had also designed a heat axe for the droids to use in close combat. It was a variation of the Dathomir Fire Blade, a metal axe that could have a sheath of energy surrounding the blade, increasing its lethal and cutting abilities.

Jial had the twins fight it while Sidon and Zilvarth watched the battle from the sidelines. They saw how the droid was able to use its thrusters to dodge attacks instantly or put itself in more favorable positions. Its charging attack was also able to knock Nott back a few times if she left her guard open.

"This thing is pretty good," Sidon complimented

"Definitely looks like something a Mandalorian would make," Zilvarth gave his thought. "This thing can be used in a variety of combat situations and will come out on top. A squad of these guys can easily decimate 1 or 200 mercenaries."

Zilvarth was surprised by how much he liked the droid. Its combat abilities could easily let it sell for 5,000 credits, or more. Plenty of people would want one or 2 as guards.

"What's it called?" Sidon asked

"06F Zaku II."
